Personality:
She's a twisted little girl to be honest. Mari finds joy after seeing one's pitiful expression due to her own past. At first glance, the girl's calm, but within seconds she can twist her own emotions. The madness runs as deep as her mental and physical scars. Mari doesn't trust people or believe them, and she is a smooth liar. She kills for the thrill and the adrenaline rush, not for any other reason. She also refuses to listen to reason or anybody else and works for herself and herself only. An alliance is a mere word, and sooner or later, Mari will twist those words to choke her own partner.
Fear: She feared her past, and the madness hit her when she was emotionally insane.
Attacks: (You can have up to five)
>> Freeze Blow :: 10 consecutive shots of a small emerald tinted ice will be shot, but they will not hit the enemy. The shots will scatter in a diamond pattern around the enemy and blow up one by one.
>> Hidden Shadows :: This is a defensive mechanism used during close combat. Mari will take control of the opponent's shadow and before the opponent realizes it, they will be trapped in a shadow cage. This is used when Mari is faced with multiple opponents, she likes to finish them off one by one.
>> Claws of Madness :: This attack gives Mari a power-up as she can use it to suck in all ounces of madness within a certain distance of her. It's fatal towards opponents as well if she chooses to use it as an attack. The claws of madness will hit the opponent square on, and the madness inside them will progress at a fascinating speed.
>> Divine Judgement :: Mari's finishing attack. This attack enables her soul to take her real physical appearance. In this form, the kishin's power has no limiters. Her appearance becomes older and takes the form of a lady in a kimono with a strange blueish skin tone & white hair. She looks normal, but behind her kimono is a giant scar that runs down her stomach. The scar takes the appearance of a vivid red eye, but it's covered by layers of bandages. Once Mari unravels the bandages, she begins the attack. Her defenses are upped along with her stamina. She uses Divine Judgement to give her opponent's their finishing blow before she switches back to child form and devours their soul.
Character History:
Mari had always been a sweet girl, at least that's what everyone thought. The Sohmas were a wealthy family that was a sign of prosperity. Mari had a little sister that she loved dearly. Or so they thought.
When Mari was born, she was destined to go to DWMA and become a great meister, like her parents. When she turned 5, her parents suddenly seemed to give her less attention, why? Her little dear sister was to be born. And it all went downhill from there.
Once Mari's little sister Lyra was born, everyone showered her with attention and happiness. When Lyra turned 4, it was noticed by a fortune teller that she was a weapon. Of course, her parents were showered in more happiness, two daughters that could become partners! Mari, on the other hand, wasn't pleased with this development whatsoever. The little 9 year old that was already forgotten by everyone now had a sister with the same power as her. Mari wanted more power. She had to overcome her little sister. Lyra was constantly praised, and if Mari complained about her, she'd get in trouble. If that wasn't enough, on Mari's 10th birthday, Lyra was performing in a play, and her parents chose to go to Lyra's performance, forgetting about their daughter's birthday. That was the last straw, Mari stormed out and walked along the streets of Death City angrily. She bumped into a nice lady who invited her inside for cookies. Mari accepted, due to her rebellious anger towards her parents, and followed her. While Mari ate, she continuously complained about her sister's attention and the lady whispered a few words in her ear. "Eat her," she had said and Mari took the idea. The cookies that Mari ate were filled with a potion that fueled her anger and the madness she had developed due to her hatred. The lady was in fact a witch who wanted to use Mari for her own good. Mari went home that day and thought over the lady's words.
One day, Lyra was left in the care of her 10 year old sister. Mari seized this chance and played right into the hands of the witch. She had devoured her own sister's soul, gaining the ability to transform into a scythe. Mari left the house in half horror due to her actions and half insanity. Her morals had been twisted, and the witch spotted her again. At that moment, the witch casted a spell on Mari, making sure she'd suffer in her 10 year old appearance, and also a binding contract. The witch used Mari, and Mari was well on her way to become a kishin. Her parents had been killed by her and after time as Mari fell deeper and deeper into the abyss of madness, she finally killed the witch that had tricked her. For some reason, the spell hadn't been lifted along with the contract, so Mari remained in her 10 year old form.
Mari is considered a minor kishin as she doesn't look to cause any trouble, she just happens to kill the people in her way. With each person she kills, the scene of her devouring her sister comes in mind and Mari will freak out. After the freak out, Mari won't go outside for a week at the least. It seems like Mari has a bit of sanity, but she calms herself down by killing people. Sometimes, Mari won't devour the soul, and it'll be left. She kills just to kill and to gain more power.
