The following are the default guidelines:Unlike Arena #1, Arena #2 is not random! Whenever one battle ends, anyone may volunteer for a fight (or even demand one from a specific opponent!). Only if there are too many volunteers/demands will we do a roll to decide who gets to go.
As with Arena #1, if the original combatants agree to include others, they may do so!
Battles take place wherever the combatants agree to. The default arena is the Mirage Arena.
All Characters are at an assumed Level Six, which means 90 stats and 6 Limit Breaks, unless otherwise decided. Please post your stats and any temporary additions in the first post of your battle. Be sure to post any significant changes that might have happened at increasing levels (for instance, the number of Joe's Sylphs might have increased).
All abilities are assumed to be unlocked unless otherwise decided.
Boss Forms and Minion Summoning (Heartless/Nobodies/Unversed/Geists) are not allowed. Drive Forms, however, are. For those Dark Walkers, you may develop a Summon Drive for the scenario. If not an Earthling, well... if you want something similar, please discuss it with the Mods.
Items, accessories, and additional weapons are only allowed if the combatants all agree on who gets what. Abilities that allow for temporary-summoned weapons are allowed regardless, however.
You may decline to accept the 'challenge' for whatever reason. Your spot will simply be refilled.
For the battle to end, one side must surrender, be knocked out, or run away.
If an extended amount of time goes on without a post from either combatant, the battle will end in favor of the last person to post. The first deadline is 7 days. After that, 5 days.
There will be no rematches until at least 5 other battles have gone through.
Only those listed may take part.
If the combatants want to include special rules (make it a Drive Battle or a Summon battle, make the field have negative effects, et cetera), they may do so!
The following things may be changed, if agreed upon by the two combatants:
Conditions of the battle (permanent Drive, a post limit, a free for all, et cetera) The location of the duel. Whether or not items or extra weapons are allowed. What level each person is (no one may be higher than level 6). {01} Jenny {02} Joseph {03} Noelle {04} Kyle V {05} James {06} Kyla {07} Kyle M {08} Amy {09} John {10} Louis {11} Nicholas {12} Danielle {13} Sayrike {14} Anthony {15} Bobbi {16} Matthew {17} Alice {18} Azrael {19} Elleon {20} Ajora {21} Kuro Oni {22} Kai {23} Sora {24} Riku {25} Cloud {26} Leon {27} Terra {28} Nanaki {29} Quistis {30} Auron {31} Xaldin {32} Lexaeus {33} Zexion {34} Saix {35} Axel {36} Demyx {37} Luxord {38} Larxene {39} Genesis {40} Zell {41} Ashley {42} Janex {43} Valmar {44} Lucian

[[Louis : ??? : Burning City Street]] "Behold," Louis opened his arms wide to the chaos around him, "the ultimate power of darkness. To wield the absolute word of destruction. Darkness reserves no strength to heal, no resources to repair, darkness is destruction incarnate. If light is shed to build, darkness tears it down. Those who walk in darkness understand there is no place where our powers can fix what has been ruined or find what has been truely lost. This is your final test..." Louis drew his rapier which became saturated with black and hummed as that darkness compressed and grew in intensity. The arcanist swung the blade a couple times to each side, feeling the weapon as it cut through the air effortlessly with no drag at all. Finally he twisted his body and brought the blade to a still halt in front of him, pointed across the distance directly at the other boy's heart, "Anthony... show me your resolve." Anthony stopped directly across from Louis just as he raised and pointed his rapier at the young man's heart. The young man slowly tilted his head to the left and right until his neck made an audible popping sound. There was something definitely different about Anthony's aura. He was no longer that cowardly, passive, and quiet young man he was when he first joined the group, but he was now a more confident and aggressive person, the person he had to become in order to learn how to wield the Darkness. "You got it, coach," the knight said cheekily with a grin. Without warning, Anthony dashed forward, the force from the suddenly burst of speed uplifting the damaged asphalt beneath his feet, and summoned his gauntlets as he prepared to swing. The gauntlets began to glow a dark red color as the young man filled each cestus with his own life force for a much more powerful attack. "I'll show you I'm ready!" the young man snarled before shooting his fist forward in hopes of knocking Louis back into last week. "Be wary, brother...," Odin warned. "Louis is no ordinary foe. Be on your guard."

[[Louis : ??? : Burning City Street]] The arcanist, grinned at the boy's response, he'd changed allot since that day when he came to Louis asking so timidly to learn to use darkness. His demeanor was different, perhaps there was potential in him after all. [[Cue: To Glory by Two Steps From Hell]]Louis watched as Anthony surged forward. He was slower than Louis, that much was apparent, but that didn't mean the fighter couldn't build up momentum and pick up speed over time. As the fighter reached him, drawing all his force into a single punch, Louis moved out of the way in a fluid motion, predicting Anthony's intended trajectory to the best of his ability. The fencing fighter twisted around the fist, pulling his blade up, around, then straight down in the blink of an eye, striking the large gauntlet and directing it's momentum downward. As the blade made contact, Louis foot swept under Anthony's leg, locking ankles and jerking back and up. The motion would send Anthony rolling forward, while Louis would leap away and rain a volley of gun shots down on his position. [[PS: Gun shots from Louis' gun, unless otherwise stated, are non-piercing. They cause minor impact concussive damage, nothing like getting shot by real bullets.]]

[Anthony ~.~ ??? ~.~ Burning City Street]
As Anthony stumbled and tripped from Louis's foot sweeping under his legs, the young man caught himself with one hand, for a moment performing a single-handed handstand, and with his free hand, launched one of his chained-spearheads to the nearest building and, as the chains recoiled back into his gauntlets, speedily pulled himself to safety and away from the barrage of gunfire. As soon as his feet landed flat against the building's exterior wall, the knight launched himself forward using his Leap ability and rocketed towards Louis, his fists still glowing red from his previous charge-up.
Anthony's initial impact with the building and the amount of energy disbursed from his launch was enough to force whatever support the building had left to crumble, causing it to come crashing down and lean forward towards the two fighters. The loose debris--chunks of cement, dry wall, broken glass--fell off the building and came crashing down around the fighters, making it difficult to maneuver. The building leaned into another building across from it, crashing into the building's precise breaking point that caused the top half to topple over and break through the center of the already falling building.
As both buildings came crashing down, Anthony prepared to deliver yet another punch, but this time he wanted to assure Louis wouldn't wiggle away. With his left gauntlet, the knight launched one of his chains into the ground beneath him. Seconds later, the spearhead shot out of the asphalt beside Louis' leg and coiled around it, prohibiting him from moving. "If I don't get him," Anthony thought as he quickly drew in closer, "then the buildings will." And with his high physical resistance, the knight would be able to withstand the impact from the falling buildings.

[[Louis : ??? : Burning City Street]]
[[Cue: Zero from Ace Combat Zero]]The darkness wielder was surprised, something he didn't expect to be experiencing from this fight. Not only were his bullets dodged with ease, but the knight had turned the tables on him, using his surroundings perfectly to his advantage. Louis' gaze followed the chain as it moved too fast for him to dodge. After locking him to the asphalt, Louis snapped his attention back to the fighter, the collapsing buildings behind him filling him with a sudden mix of panic and dread as his eyes widened. With the chain wrapped around his leg, Louis couldn't portal out of the situation. Louis gritted his teeth, bearing them through his scowl as sweat gathered around his temples. Louis threw the gun over his shoulder and curled his body in with his elbow before thrusting out at the exact moment of impact, meeting the gauntlet with a black sphere. The two forces clashed for a second, holding off the fist before expanding outward and engulfing them both. There was a swirl of puple with black before finally the sphere took a clean, solid sheen and then collapsed in on itself before vanishing just as the buildings crushed the streetside. High in the air, a black hole blew up and revealed the two standing as they were before on a clean cut slab of land in the shape of a half circle. They floating it stasis for a split second before Anthony's strike followed through as before, slamming Louis' face and rocketing him across the demented skyline and into the roof of a building. Around the building, it suddenly became apparent from the aerial vantage point this city was more than just on fire, it was being destroyed completely, by massive floating vortexes of darkness sucking in chunks of the city whole. To Anthony, it would quickly become apparent where the two really were... Louis, begrudgingly stood, favoring his leg which took a nasty blow from the impact and jerk when escaping from the chain, "Damn you..." he hissed under his breath, "Dodge this!" Louis reeled back, attaching both hands behind his head, then threw his arms forward, launching a gigantic pillar of darkness forward quickly tearing away the entire roof and side of the building in his way, vaporizing the debris long before it would even reach the target that would still likely be in free-fall.

[Anthony ~.~ ??? ~.~ Burning City Street]
The edge of his lips curled into a smirk as Anthony's Soul Strike connected with Louis' face, sending him flying into a nearby rooftop.
"I could feel your thoughts. Do not be so quick to feel proud of your accomplishments... especially when the battle has just begun." "I'm just having some fun, Odin. It's not like I get to land many punches on my teacher." "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." "If my mind hand eyes, I'd be rolling them right now.."
As the momentary stasis wore off, the young man found himself free-falling several stories to the ground; however, in that moment, things seemed to have slowed down as he realized where he was...
"Home...," was all he was able to mutter.
[Anthony ~.~ Earth ~.~ Burning City Street]
It was a mesmerizing sight to behold, even in its present state. It had been what seemed like forever... His chest felt heavy with longing, much like a person who could see but never touch his lover. It was as if his quest had come to an end, but, at the same time, had only begun. It was beautiful...
"Dodge this!"
The knight's eyes snapped in the direction of Louis' voice just as his opponent fired a large blast of darkness. There was no time to react, no footing to evade, no building to swing to. All he had time for was to raise his arms in defense, and he did just that. He raised and brought his gauntlets together in front of him, blocking the majority of his upper torso and all of his face, and brought his knees to his stomach as he prepared to take the blast full-on.
The attack sent the young man flying, much like a rag doll tossed backwards by its ankle, and through a window of a near by building. His body skipped and rolled until it crashed into a wall, which crumbled and buried him beneath the rubble. With a sudden explosion of energy, the rubble disbursed in random directions as Anthony, now completely coated in surges of electricity running up and down his body, rose to his feet and craned his head in the direction of the broken window, his eyes locked onto the small silhouette of a figure that was Louis standing on top of another building.
The knight, feeling his body beginning to tremble with rage, began sprinting towards the opening, then, with the built up momentum, pushed off the edge and leaped into the air, using the floating debris that were being sucked into the many vortexes as stepping stones until he was close enough to the next building to clear the remaining gap.
With a final leap, the young man soared high above the building Louis stood on, then began to quickly descend as his right gauntlet began to vibrate and glow white. When close enough, Anthony extended and lodged his left spearhead into the rooftop, then pulled himself down at a much greater speed. Just as he landed, the knight slammed his right gauntlet into the ground, releasing a massive shockwave and chains of electricity running along the ground in multiple directions.
The attack broke the rooftop apart and caused whoever stood on top of it to fall down to the floor beneath. With the amount of damage the building had already sustained, who knows how long it would stay erect.

[[Louis : Earth : Burning City - Building Rooftops]]
Louis watched Anthony make his way over to him, his speed in the air not nearly as impressing as his speed on the ground before. Seemed without the right amount of friction, the boy would remain, "Too slow."
Louis leaned down, slamming something into the boards, then jumped into the air, flying at Anthony on a collision course before a portal opened up in front of Louis and caused him to vanish from Anthony's sight, only to reappear out of another portal facing Anthony point blank, making contact right out of the portal with Louis' knee to the side of Anthony's gut.
Louis' physical strength was never really something to be all that impressed with, but when coupled with his knowledge of momentum and energy transfer, he could deliver powerful blows that took down opponents several times his size.
After striking out and spinning away, Louis drew his rapier and cut a rift into the space next to him, quickly being sucked in. A moment later he was spat out onto the rooftop of another building nearby with a clear view of his previous residence. With a flick of his wrist, the gift he left behind in case Anthony continued into the building as expected, detonated, quickly expanding, sucking in the rooftop and half of the building, compressing it all into a tiny black ball before exploding and sending the contents scattering in every direction.

[Anthony ~.~ Earth ~.~ Burning City Street]
Anthony never enjoyed being hit in the gut... let alone flying into someone's knee. It wasn't long after his landing when Louis activated some sort of dark vacuum that began sucking pretty much everything the knight destroyed, then launched them back out in every direction. "Not good!"
A large slab of concrete slammed into the young man and carried him out of a window and once again free-falling several stories; however, pushing off the concrete with his legs, Anthony performed several black flips before landing on the balls of his feet, then rolling back onto his heels and bending his knees to reduce momentum and strain.
"I could feel you giving me that 'I told you so' look, Odin..." "Such juvenile actions are beneath a knight like myself," Odin responded, sarcasm evident in his voice.
Anthony, now more cool-headed, knew this game of cat and mouse would never work to his advantage. Louis was just too fast, and with his ability to travel through portals and rifts, there wasn't an ice cube's chance in hell he'd be able to land another hit on him unless he could think of a way to prevent the other from running away, just like earlier.
For now, instead of chasing after Louis as he has been doing so far, Anthony decided to take a more defensive approach and lay low to think of a plan; however, he remained in the open as to provoke Louis to attack him first.

[[Louis : Earth : Burning City - Building Rooftops]] Louis grinned as Anthony stood out in the open after escaping the blast, "Pity." Louis stood for a moment, watching Anthony, wondering what it was he was planning by just standing n place before it occurred to him that the fighter was actually waiting for him to come down to him and fight. Louis laughed, his voice full of a strangely placed sense of amusement and mirth. Louis face returned to a neutral state after a generous amount of laughter, generous considering who Louis was, disregarding the lingering smirk clinging to the corner of his lips and slant of his eyelids. The arcanist sat down on the corner of the rooftop, swinging his legs over the edge and snapping his fingers once. Around Louis, forming out of wisps of shadow taking physical form were 6 wyverns. One circled Louis once like a cat in the air then stopped before hunching low against the arcanist's back as it brushed its head against the side of Louis', letting out a pleased hum. Louis cupped its short muzzle in his hand returning the odd form of affection before cutting his eyes in Anthony's direction. All the wyverns took flight instantly and tore through the skies in the fighter's direction, "Oh ye tormented souls, weep not in your misery, cling to thy savage nature, go and reap all life... so that yours was not in vain." With that, the wyverns spread out then spun in at different angles in varying intervals like aerial drills homing in on Anthony.

[Anthony ~.~ Earth ~.~ Burning City Street]
As Anthony contemplated his present dilemma, he recalled an old memory of his father teaching him how to shoot clay disks at a shotgun range. "Always aim ahead of the disk," his father would say. The memory brought a smile to the young man's face. Reminiscing about his father and once again finding himself on Earth was making the knight quite nostalgic, so much so that he forced down the feeling of grief building up in his chest.
But within the memory came the solution to his problem. "Aim ahead of the disk...," the young man whispered to himself with a brief chuckle at the end. "Thanks, dad..."
"LOOK OUT!" Odin cried out.
Anthony's head snapped up in the direction of the on-coming wyvern just in time to roll out of the way as they swooped by. "Ugh... he would...," the knight mentally groaned as he rose to his feet, craning his head lazily in the direction the wyverns came from, spotting Louis nonchalantly sitting on the edge of a rooftop. Though he might be too far away from Louis to notice, a look of pure annoyance was evident on his features.
Turning his focus back to the wyverns, Anthony's chains slowly began to extend at his sides, each to about 5 feet in length. He grasped the ends and coated the chains with electricity as he twirled them around his body, bits of asphalt being chipped away as the spearheads whipped the ground.
"Come at me, bro."

The arcanist forced down his smile into a serious glare, watching the wyverns follow his commands. When the fighter spun in place, holding off their charges with his chains, Louis ordered the retreat with a wave of his hand. The wyverns pulled back and hovered a bit away, charging for a moment before unleashing small fireballs from their mouths down upon the fighter.
Meanwhile, Louis pulled his rifle around and looked down the scope, the machina sight immediately zooming in and focusing on Anthony. Darkness flowed down his arms into the barrel as he lined up his shot.

The knight smirked under his nose as he slightly lowered his head. This was his opportunity to carry out his plan. As the wyverns fired, the young man proceeded to evade their attacks. With each dodge, Anthony would crouch and place his hand underneath or behind a pile of debris, making sure to make his behavior as inconspicuous as possible to avoid arousing suspicion in the spectating arcanist.
As Anthony continued to dodge, an unsettling feeling began building up in his gut. "Something doesn't feel right," he thought, narrowly dodging yet another fireball. The wyverns weren't charging anymore. Instead, they were keeping a distance as they fired fireballs at the knight. It felt a lot like a--"It's a distraction."
The young man raised his eyes up to Louis, catching the glimmer of the rifle's scope. "Crap..." the knight muttered as he turned around and dashed for cover.
As he ran, Anthony hoped he caught the attack soon enough to be able to take cover behind a nearby building.

Louis' glare faltered as Louis fought back a chuckle while Anthony fled, "Looks like he saw through my ploy... oh well." Louis kept the sight on the boy even as he ran behind the building. The arcanist's eyes gleamed a brilliant yellow for a single second before he pulled the trigger. The shot that followed looked less like a bullet and more like a beam as thick as a PVC pipe. The black laser cut right through the buildings and exited the other end with dead on accuracy. Louis' aim was nothing to laugh at, question was, did the fighter have the reflexes to dodge even without sight on his side. Meanwhile, the gargoyles floated around in the sky, awaiting the outcome and further orders.
