 White wings spread over the blue sky as Lunar Rover flew out of the train station. She was a canvas only tickled by paint, and was looking for more supplies for her trade. She needed...berries. Yes, berries. But where would they be that wouldn't be flocked by humans? Hmm.
Lunar landed on a lamp post and pondered.

Sashimi soared through the air with a bulging pouch of different kinds of berries in his grasp. Surely some inker over at the church would find these of some use! However the pouch was heavy and soon his leg grew sore from the weight. He landed atop an awning and set the pouch down so he could rest but he hadn't counted on it shifting to one side. He tried in vain to catch it before it flopped off the edge towards a lamp post where he saw another pidge.
"Look out!" he cried as he hopped off the awning and hoped he would be in time to catch the pouch before it landed on the post and the pidge!

A cry snapped Lunar back to reality. She looked towards where she heard the shout come from...to be pouch'd in the face. Lunar Rover reeled back for a second, but managed to catch the bag with her foot. To her, it felt a little wet but it could have just been her frazzled imagination.
"Got it!" she called out reflexively after a brief sputter. She was a Half-Price flock girl, after all; you learn to catch things quickly when everyone else is going after what you want.

Sashimi landed on the edge of the lamp post with an 'oof!' and he looked Lunar with an apologetic smile, "Sorry about that, my berries tried to run away from me. Thanks for catching them!"
he looked at the pouch and noticed a stain of berry juice. "Oh..oops, looks like some burst. Blah, that's no good... Guess i'll have to go get some more." he looked back at lunar, "Didn't get any juice on you did you? Those are some pretty potent dye making berries."

"So it's yours, eh?" Lunar held the pouch out to the black male. "Sorry, I must've tried too hard to catch them. I don't think I got any on me. Not that it matters too much." She smiled, then it vanished when he mentioned dye. "Really? Inking berries? Are you going to be trading them or...?"

"Well..." said sashimi thinking for a moment, "I was just gonna give them to the inkers back at the church." he took the bag and looked in it, "Hm, not too many smashed, but they made a neat color." he smiled, "Why? do you want them?"

"Yeah, I want them." Lunar said, concealing her excitement. Flipping out over some berries just wouldn't do. "I'm an inker, too." She highlighted her handiwork on her plummage...and her accidental stains. "I'm from the nearby train station. The name's Lunar Rover." she said, then adjusted her goggles and bandana.

"well, here you go, they're yours." he smiled setting the berry pouch down in front of her. "I'm from the church, My name's Sashimi."
He looked at Lunar's wings and nodded, "You certainly have talent, Lunar. I bet a lot of pidge come to you to get ink work done.". he ruffled his feathers and stretched as a light breeze blew. He thought a moment and then said with a smile, "Want to see where i got those berries from? There's lots of pretty colorful ones there."

The white Pidge blinked. Free supplies? A gift? From a stranger? Lunar Rover was taken aback by this. She was lower-class from birth. Strangers didn't give each other anything without expecting something in return. Was her flock so broken that pure generosity was given a leery eye?
"Oh. Well. Thank you." she tried smiling back, feeling ashamed of doubting Sashimi for a moment. "Nice to meet you."
Lunar nodded at his comment about her talent and patronage. "Thanks. I just love colors. Hopefully someday every Pidge will have some of the beauty that nature doesn't give them but to butterflies and hummingbirds instead." The breeze fluffed her out of her rambling.
"Would you? That'd be great." Her inner streetrat said it was a trap, but Lunar was still inclined to trust this dark stranger.

"It's nice to meet you to!" he nodded, "That's a nice thing to hope for...I think if a pidge get's a good inking they want it can make them really happy. It's a nice thing to be able do, paint on happiness." he smiled, "And to me it looks like you've got real talent, i like your designs."
He looked around, looking to the way he came that lead to the plant nursery that was closed on certain days, where the berries grew some big some strange and some that smelled wonderful. There were no humans around on those days like today so it was a perfect opportunity to scavenge without being interrupted. "Follow me, It's just a little ways over there. I'm pretty sure no one else knows about this place so it'll be all you can gather."

Lunar couldn't help but smile at the compliments. "Thanks. Maybe sometime I could give you some inking that would fit with the rest of the beaut' you've already have going on."
She nodded at his asking of her to follow him. "Okay, lead the way." Lunar Rover held out her wings, ready to flap after Sashimi.

Sashi nodded and hopped off the lamp post and spread his wings, catching the breeze and soaring up to the roof tops towards the little nursery off of a little dirt road, partially hidden by the trees. After a few minutes the green houses came into view and he began to descend. "Down here!" he called as he landed on a pole outside one of the berry bearing plant areas. He looked inside and sure enough it was empty and silent. Rows upon rows of different bushes and trees lined the place and each one seemed to be in full fruit.
He flitted over to a small tear big enough for a pidge in the plastic canopy and waited for Lunar.

Lunar followed, observing everything as she flew after Sashimi. As she entered the rip she found herself scared. She knew that this was a human place; Pidge avoided humans. But, if this helped her business stay afloat, it would be worth it humans or no humans.
"Wow. So many kinds of berries!"

"Yeah, and they're all for the taking." said Sashimi with a smile. "I think the humans magic these up or something but there's always a bunch of berry plants here this time of year." he flew down to one of the displays and looked back up at lunar, "Don't worry, there aren't any humans here today. Sometimes they just disappear for a few days... It's odd, but great for berry gathering."
He picked a large plump cherry from one of the trees who's branches hung over the display post, admiring it's red color. "Heh, my friend Tobe would love some of these, they taste pretty good too according to him." he set the cherry down on the post and asked Lunar with a smile, "So, what kind of friends do you have? You must have lots, being an inker and all."

Lunar Rover joined Sashimi on the post. She was tempted to try a berry, but would rather color with it instead.
"I have good friends. Only a few; in my flock customers aren't automatically friends." she shrugged. "My best friend hasn't gotten inked ever, in fact. But then I've never gotten tea from him, either. He'd really like this place. Could probably use some of these for flavoring. Though he'd probably hurt himself before getting this far." she rambled.
