 Welcome! To DIVINATION! At Hogwarts biggrin ivination is the art of predicting the future. Various methods are described, including tea leaves, fire omens, crystal balls, palmistry, cartomancy (including the reading of conventional playing cards and the tarot), astrology, and dream interpretations. Divination is described by Professor McGonagall as "one of the most imprecise branches of magic".Supporters of the subject claim that it is an inexact science that requires innate gifts like the "Inner Eye". Those opposed claim that the subject is irrelevant and fraudulent. Harry is first taught Divination by Professor Trelawney, and then later by Firenze after Trelawney is sacked by Dolores Umbridge in Harry's fifth year. In the sixth (and presumably seventh) year, Firenze and Professor Trelawney teach Divination. This front page right here will be your eyes and ears of the classroom so be sure to check back frequently for more updates. Because of everyone’s real life schedules I’m going to make this class impossible to fail, so all you little muffins need to do is show up. If you fail to attend my class the punishment will be… severe. I implore you not to test my patience children. I shall teach methods of divining the future, or gathering insights into future events, through various rituals and tools. The magic taught in this class, as well as the ability to say prophetic things is a branch of magic referred to as "divination." Even if you do not posses the gift, fear not, you can still make accurate predictions. The most important part of this class is to have fun. Divination does not always have to be about serious decisions or death oriented, it can be good fun as well. If you are to be in my class I expect you all to be well prepared and on time. In this classroom I am the Alpha, the Omega, judge, jury, and in your particular cases, the excexutioner. You are to live and breath these rules while in the sanctum of my classroom. Breaking any one of these rules set down by myself will result in immediate action of my special disciplinary ladder. You only get one warning, after that you will be getting one of four punishments: A) Detention with me, B) Sent to the Headmistress, C) Expelled from Hogwarts, or D) Strung up by your toes and beaten with a Cleansweep. There will be a homework assignment every week for every lesson varying in how much you have to do. Again, to fit everyone’s real life schedule I won’t make the homework anything ridiculous like a ten page paper on how divination impacts the lives of gullible wizards. I grade homework assignments based on completeness, correct answers, and the quality of your answers; extra points will be given to those who put forth extra effort. When you complete a Homework assignment, send it to me in an owl (PM) with your student name, year, and house. Depending on the assignment‘s length and how well you do, the point values can range anywhere from 10-50 points and possibly even more. The assignments name, description, point value, and due date will be listed so no confusion will take place. Lucas- 6th year Gryffindor
Lucas got to the classroom clutching a stitch in his side from running. He looked around but didn't see anything. He was at the top of the North tower, correct? He glanced up and saw a trapdoor from the cieling. Not sure what to do, he stood there looking curiously at it. The bell rang loudly, and the trapdoor descended with a ladder. He went up the ladder into the classroom to see a smaller classroom with tables and cushions. He sat down by one of the tables near the window, feeling a bit nervous.
He took out his book bag for something to do and placed his Divination books in front of him. He didn't study this subject much at home, it was probably one of his weaker subjects, not to mention he was fairly certain he would have no friends in this class yet. He'd wished Fionna had been here, at least if he failed, he had someone friendly to help him.

"Ow!" shouted Ami when she hit her hit her head on the trap door. She rubbed her head, and pushed it open, revealing a small stuffy room that smelled strongly of perfume and scented candles. There was only one other person in the room, who she recognized as the blonde guy from the train the other day. She plopped down in the seat next to him and dropped her books on the floor. "Hey, are you getting used to Hogwarts?" she asked.

Lucas was a bit startled when someone addressed him, he'd been daydreaming and not really all that focused.
"Hi." He said a bit lamely, "Uh, yeah a bit, well, not really." He smiled. "There's still so much I don't know about. This is the first class I've really been to since Herbology was postponed until the Professor gets back." He looked around the room, not many students were there yet.
"Oh, my name's Lucas by the way, 6th year Gryffindor."

Ami flashed a smile and extended her hand. "I'm Ami Chang, a first year Ravenclaw. Just saying, we are totally going to pwn you guys in the house cup." she joked. "And what happened to the Herbology professor anyway? I've heard so many rumors, and his owl was acting all psycho during the feast. Hey where's Professor Aludra? I'm not even sure if classes started yet."
