Hanikiza was bored. Boredboredboredboredbored. And she was tired of all the younger Ushujaa, acting like they knew everything. Feh! And so she left her area, intent on not starting a war on the stupid brats. She herself had been here for a while, born 'on the road' and all that. She felt like she knew more of the world than those brats, still wet behind the nose. "Someone needs to teach them a lesson," she said. And thinking about that, she turned her feet towards the Mzazi. She'd just poke around, see what they were doing to the young cubs...not that there were too many of them lately. Stalled in the baby making department lately. It did make her worry but...she wouldn't think about it too much right now.

Being a mzazi had once been much more exciting than it was now, back when there were many litters around but now there were so few, there were plenty of lions to keep an eye on cubs and keep them entertained. Haumea's favorite time was storytime and nobody was feeling particularly imaginative now so she was near a border of the mzazi camp, relaxing and keeping an eye on things quietly, thinking through the stories she already knew and trying to come up with some new ones that might entertain the current bunch of little ones-- even if the "best" ones to tell had more of a purpose than entertaining the cubs.

Hani's green eyes spotted the pink first. It...clearly stood out against the background of their pride's lands, and it dazed the solid black lioness for a moment. She knew that it wasn't really a unique colouring...some of her own siblings were green instead of black, but it wasn't something she had been expecting. A touch mesmerized, she approached the lioness, a small scowl still apparent on her face. It was going to take a bit to rid herself of her frustrations.
"Hey," she said with a small gruff. "Is this the Mzazi's part of the pride?" Hani...had never really been over here before.

Haumea was slow to pick up on the presence of the darrk colored lioness, she didn't really stand out that much-- though she didn't blend in exactly, either. Had she been looking harder, Hani would have been much more apparent. She was very near when Haumea's eyes finally were on her and the scowl on the stranger's face was all that kept Haumea from offering a smile immediately. She wasn't a recent mother, she couldn't be here to check on anybody.. maybe she was hear to check it out because she was going to be a mother? Perhaps it took a couple litters to ge everybody going again.
So she put on a small smile and pushed herself up to her feet.
"Yes, I'm Haumea," she said, introducing herself, "What can I do for you?"

"Ah," Hanikiza started. "Well...I've been running into some issues with the younger Ushujaa..." And while she knew that they didn't teach the cubs everything, it was still the start of their discipline. "And I came to investigate a bit about their early learning."
That...was about as nice as she could put it.
"I'm Hanikiza, by the way. A pleasure." She finally was able to release the scowl and offer a small, if efficient, smile.

The disappointment when Hanikiza explained her purpose and identity was hard to hide, Haumea knew she wouldn't have to be out here, bored, if there were more cubs.. and it didn't help that she was hear to question the efforts of the Mzazi.
"Oh," she said, tilting her head, "Anyone in particular giving you trouble?"
Who had become Ushujaa lately? Nobody stood out in her mind as having made a silly choice for what to do with themselves when they left the mzazi.

Hanikiza's ears flattened against her skull, and she lowered her head a bit. "I don't bother with their names," she said. Well, that wasn't going to get her anywhere. "And most of them are bothering me, but that's probably because they're tired of drills. There's not much else to do now, the mountain has been so quiet."
At least of outside sources. Internally it had been interesting. But...the Ushujaa were a bit...bored. Though she wouldn't wildly admit it.

"Oh," she repeated, looking at Hanikiza thoughtfully. She presented an explanation for their behavior but she couldn't have come all this way just to tell a random mzazi that.. right? "I'm sorry," Haumea offered, "It's been quiet here too, not many litters lately."
That probably meant they should be doing a better job teaching them but Haumea thought it was easier to spoil them when there were fewer. Probably not a great thing in the long run but plenty of fun in the moment.
"What exactly did you want to find out here?"

"Honestly," she started out. "I just needed to get away from a few of them before I started a new war."
She sat herself down for a moment just to gather herself. She had a flare of a temper under there...she liked to blame it on her mother.
"They're just...so arrogant. I can't quite blame them. They haven't had much to do except see our leaders in the pride change." Which she was neutral on. Everything ran smoothly, and that's how it should go.
"I figured I'd just...see how it was here. But there's so few cubs it's hard to observe."

Haumea nodded along with Hanikiza, it was understandable-- except if Haumea got annoyed with her work, you couldn't even exaggerate it to a level like that. It'd pretty much end in a hissy fit. Unless, of course, she had to deal with angry parents but she couldn't see that as a major issue at that moment.
"Well, you're welcome to take a look around," she said, "I can show you, if you like."

Hanikiza debated on the offer for a moment. It was something that she probably shouldn't do, but she wanted to do it anyway. "Yeah, sure, that would be nice." Hm. "Then I might actually learn something too," she said with a chuckle.

"OK! Maybe we'll find someone interested in hearing about the Ushuuja from an actual Ushuuja," Haumea said brightly. The current bunch of cubs were still quite small to be thinking about what exactly they would do but that was a good time to really learn about it. At least Haumea thought so. If any of the other (older, smarter) mzazi disapproved, they would certainly intervene. After all, they wouldn't be completely distracted by cubs with so few around.
"This way," she said, leading them off to the busier part of the mzazi camp.
