Marissa sat on the edge of her seat waiting for the vampire's meeting to be over. Everyone was gathered round to hear Joshua's triumph of being leader after killing Bradley the last king. Everyone had loved Bradley but Joshua had wanted power and the only way to attain it was to become king. Now Marissa, Shawn, and Basista sat waiting for their orders after all they had to listen to him unless they planned to kill him and right now that was out of the question. Marissa had the most years and power of any of them and she knew even with their help it wouldn't be easy, they may not be able to do it at all she thought but she had to find a way to kill Joshua. He wasn't a leader, more like a dictator telling his slaves what he wanted them to do and if their was one thing Marissa hated it was being someone's pet. She was one hundred years old she was a force to be reckoned with and soon Joshua would know this too.

Thomas ran through the woods, pouring on as much speed as he could. He wasn't exactly sure what was happening, but he knew he was being hunted. They had followed him from his job at the local supermarket until he was near his home. Thom were sure of that. With nobody in sight, they had started to run after him, trying to close the distance. He had run too, straight past his house and into the nearby woods in hopes of losing them. Even as Thomas ran near silently past trees, he heard the pursuit crashing through the brush not far behind him. ((Sorry for taking so long. Had to leave suddenly to get my new glasses.))

::Marissa finally got out of the meeting and went outside to relax. Shawn came out beside her and sighed.::
"So how long do we have to put up with him as leader?" asked Shawn.
"I don't know Shawn. I don't know if I can kill him. I may be a hundred years old but by myself I guarantee I can't take him now. I'm going to need your help and Basista's as well. If we want our freedom we have to kill Joshua."
"Yeah that much is obvious." spoke Shawn as he fired an arrow at a tree.
"I've been working on my shooting. Get him weak enough and I guarantee my silver arrows will take him down for good." smirked Shawn.
"Stop bragging. Prove it." spoke Marissa as she walked off into a completely different direction and headed out of the land of the dead to get supplies. Even as a vampire they still saw her as human.

Thomas ran for one of the various hideouts concealed in the woods, hoping the those following him would pass it up. The bolt holes had been dug a long time ago, and for just this reason. A place to hide in a time of need. Thom only knew of a few, but one was close. A sudden change in direction rewarded him with the men behind him stalling to look about for where he had gone. They would catch up if he didn't hide though.
When Thomas found the spot he was looking for, a properly pulled root lifted a platform of 2x4's covering a hole. It was barely large enough for him to fit inside, but it was concealed, and only a few people knew about it. He ducked inside, pulling the trapdoor down after him.

:: Marissa stepped out of the land of the dead and noticed the demon hunters on a chase. She quickly and quietly walked right by them as if nothing was wrong. One of them stopped and turned to her.
"Why is such a beautiful girl out in the forest?" asked Kyle. Marissa just smiled and replied.
"I was getting flowers for my wedding." spoke Marissa and immediately the hunter turned around as if he had never asked. It wasn't the first time a hunter wanted her but Marissa's soul mate was not a hunter, not a demon, it was someone who could make her laugh. That is the only type of person she dated and it had been over 100 years since her last date. And her beauty hadn't changed in all those years. She thought of Shawn and Basista waiting for her and went into town to get her supplies for killing Joshua. They'd need a lot of silver and a lot of luck... Espicially luck Marissa thought to herself.

Once Thomas was sure that the hunters had passed, he pushed the trapdoor open again. Looking around carefully, he pulled himself out of the hole. Everything appeared safe. He could hear the hunters off in the distance, still searching. It would be best for him to leave quietly.
Closing up the bolt-hole, he started to sneak away. His steps silent, he headed for home, doubling back along the path the his home. As he did so, however, he saw someone else on the path. Thomas stopped still, standing like a statue as he watched her. With my luck, this is probably a really bad thing... he though, debating whether or not to flee.

::Marissa had almost made it to the supply merchant when she heard someone behind her. Marissa turned slowly to see if it was the annoying hunter trying to be persistent but no it was a young man. He looked exhausted from running and out of breath. Marissa had no doubt in her mind, this was who the hunters were chasing but he appeared to be human. The hunters only chased rare things and demons. Sometimes rare demons so she went straight up to him and spoke. At first the boy tried to run but she grabbed him by the wrist and with over a hundred year over the boy he had no chance of escaping without first anwsering her questions.
"Why are they after you? Are you even human?" asked Marissa as she made sure no one heard the last question.

Thomas had turned to run, but before he got anywhere, he felt a hand close around his wrist. "Damn," he muttered, turning back. The girl looked about his age, but that didn't mean anything in his world. Still, he would have to be wary.
"I've no clue why, they followed me to my house and then out here. And aren't we all? A little human, at least. I could ask the same of you, being so deep in the forest. I at least have the excuse of living nearby," Thomas remarked with a smile. He spoke quietly, though he knew there was likely nobody around,

"I sense you are more than just human. Now I shall tell you not that you will care. My name is Marissa and I was just on my way to town to get supplies to kill the leader of my clan. None of my kind like him very much and I'm the only one of us with enough skill to take him out. I shall let you go now. Try not to get in my way." spoke Marissa as she released her grip on his wrist and walked into the village and got her supplies quickly. Not wanting to pass the boy again, she took the long way around. Marissa wasn't 100% sure but she was pretty sure he was a werewolf. Werewolfs and vampires tended not to get alone very well from what Marissa had learned in her years. It was best to leave him to his business. She had enough problems of her own.

Thomas watched as the girl walked away, rubbing his wrist. She was likely a vampire, from the way she referred to her clan and how old she was. Her arrogance was also a good indicator. Thomas decided that he would try and avoid this Marissa. She looked like she could be deadly when she wanted to be, and he valued his life too much to be chasing after vampires. He continued on the path to his home after several minutes. He would have to move, now that the hunters knew where he lived. Hopefully, a friend would have a place on their couch for him.

::Marissa had barely made it back to the dead lands when she saw Daceria sitting outside her tree alone. Marissa went and sat down beside her.::
"Is something wrong?" asked Marissa.
"No, nothing's wrong. I just sensed the hunters and I came out to see what was going on and it's empty. The forest is empty. The hunter's have given up their chase. Whoever their chasing is safe today to roam another day. I wish I knew who it was, I don't want any of us to be hurt by the likes of the demon hunters." spoke Daceria as she balled her hand into a fist.
"I swear someday their will be no fear for any of us. One day I will defeat all of them. It doesn't matter who their leader is. I'm Daceria, I was chosen by Ace to defeat them."
"Well good. I wasn't choosen but I do have my own destiny. Killing Joshua."
"He killed Bradley?" asked Daceria.
"Yeah and none of us are happy with him as leader.
"Who will be leader next?" asked Daceria.
"Whoever kills him, will be leader." spoke Marissa
"You?" asked Daceria.
"No, I'm going to do most of the work but I'm going to let Shawn take him out. I have no interest in being leader of the vampires. My wish is to find love like you have. You and Adam, I wish I could find someone like Patrick, someone to make me laugh and not feel so serious all the time." spoke Marissa truthfully.
"You'll find him someday." spoke Daceria. Marissa nodded and went into the land of the dead to speak with Shawn before they killed Joshua.

When Thomas got to his house, he looked around warily before leaving the cover of the forest. It seemed that they had not doubled back to catch him at home. Regardless, he'd have to be swift. He let himself in the back, still checking everything as he moved through his house. It had not been disturbed.
Thomas rushed upstairs, grabbing a duffel bag. It had already been prepared for an emergency with clothing, an extra pair of glasses, and several other necessities for a quick change of location. His paranoia had payed off, for once. Sometimes, you needed a back way out.
Rather than disguising himself, he pulled out his phone, and hit speed dial one. As it was connecting, he moved through the house, collecting any personal papers or items. The pack had taught him to leave no trace, for if there's no trail, then there is nothing to track.

::Marissa sat down and Shawn told her that Joshua had imprisoned Basista and it wouldn't be long until all of Bradley's old supporters were in chains.::
"Just great, I met a werewolf today" smiled Marissa.
"A werewolf, did you kill it?" asked Shawn.
"No, heavens no. I had no reason to kill the boy. He was out running the hunters which is impressive."
"Don't tell me you like him." demanded Shawn. Werewolves and vampires were sworn enemies.
"No, I don't like him. He was good looking but you know I'm not in the game for looks." spoke Marissa.
"Yeah I remember. You want someone who can make you laugh otherwise my charms would have claimed you a long time ago." smiled Shawn.
"Can we get back to killing Joshua? I'm not in the mood for you to be flirting with me. We all know you aren't my type."

Thomas sighed with relief when Bernard picked up on the other end.
"What's up, man?" his friend asked, loud over the speakerphone.
"Listen, Bernard. And stay quiet. I think somebody's hunting us, or at least looking into me. I was followed today, back to my house. I ran into the forest before I got inside, managed to lose them there. I need somewhere to stay for now." Thomas stuffed the papers he had gathered into his bag before slinging it across his back. Locking up, he jogged into his back yard, searching for one of the winding paths through the forest.
"I hear you. Come one over. You can stay at my place for now, but you'll have to move on in a day or two. Back door's unlocked. I need to alert the rest of the pack," Bernard said before hanging up. Thomas put his phone back into his pocket as he found the trail, starting along it. All of the pack had houses near the forest, so there were many paths connecting them.

: biggrin aceria sat outside her tree and climbed up to the branch that she loved to lean against and relaxed. She looked up at the sky it was nearing night fall. She couldn't help but wonder who or what the hunters were after. She would do anything she could to help. Daceria and Adam were happily married and their daughter was married as well to a dragon of all things. The family was crazy at times but Daceria and Adam were just now thinking of having another kid but Daceria swore to rid the world of the hunters before she had another child. It was bad enough Skye had to put up with exactly what Daceria had gone through. She didn't want that for anyone. The hunters were a pain and their newest leader Cameron was nothing but bad news but somedays Daceria wished Cameron would come to his senses. After all Cameron was Adam's brother's oldest son and current leader of the hunters.
