While I'm sure not everyone has heard about this program, I'm sure a few of you have.
I'm looking for some specific information, namely just how good is it and how easy or difficult is this to use? From what I've heard, MWS is a pretty good program despite the 19.95 pricetag on it.
I'm not keen on the payment, but I guess I can deal with that if the program is good enough. Anyways, if you have any info on this, especially comparisons between it and apprentice or it and MTGPlay that'd be great.
On a side note, if any of you have any clue where I might be able to track down a way to get my hands on the old Magic Encyclopedia for cheap or free (since WotC no longer even produces or supports it) that'd be keen.
Thanks in advance.

Is Magic Workstation another card creating program? If so, Magic Set Editor is free. Just google it and download.

Its free if you don't register, and Wizards of the Coast does not like that it exisits, but overall its pretty good, Apprentice is free, and is basically the same thing just with out card pics, Apprentice was made with Wizards permission while Workstation was not.

Aye, it is free if you don't register, but the trial version you download is horribly annoying. Mostly the banner ad, and the inability to make very many custom sets. However, if anyone does want to buy http://www.magicworkstation.com/order.phpthat's the order page, the main page of course is http://www.magicworkstation.com

I much prefer using Magic Suitcase and Apprentice together than that.
Apprentice lets me play online while Suitcase will let me analyze my decks and stuff.

the thing about Apprentice is there are cheats for it, and I used to play tourneys on it back in the day. But Magic Workstation doesn't have that problem. Now if you want to use the program to play online tourneys through www.magic-league.com or www.o-gaming.com then I would use MWS, it also has the nice feature of being capable to connect 2 people with firewalls.

Does Magic Workstation allow for more than 2 players?
If not, then I don't see the point in buying it at $20

Magic Suitcase is basically a program that allows you to keep track of your real life cards.
Magic Workstation is great; it works well (Apprentice doesn't work on my computer at all, a zillion bugs) and you can see the pictures of the cards as you play smile .
The advertisement is a little annoying, but it's worth it.

It was pretty good, was free, but a little quirky at times...waiting for the next version; hopefully it will have the actual card pics with it. sweatdrop
