( Wilddogs Vision )
The night was foretold by an elderly wilddog. ‘That the sands will turn an empty shell in to its greatest life and it will be renewed by the winds of change.’ Her paws went in different directions as she kept on explaining what she wanted to say… as her mouth was sealed of her birth right and voice did not pass her lips. She didn’t know who it was that her vision was about… Her daughter merely heard the story of the vision in means by learning and interpreting her mother’s signals in to words. She shrugged, she too didn’t know the creature that her mother ‘spoke’ of. So she noted it just in case she ran in to thus creature soon….

-- And so it begins --

Zhen
It was then that the lioness awoke in the desert. The sun beating down on her pathetic body, unless would be to find cover as there was none in sight. Her eyes squinted as she looked across the sandy desert. Running away from TWO prides that nearly could have killed her in one shot, her body seemed limp and tired from the encounters but she made it to free land. She was free… Sweet, sweet freedom. Finally, after all the time she was behind the confines of another. A smile grew on her face, but it was dried and chappy. Her tongue stuck out to cool down her body as she slowly pulled herself up. No time to waste here, she had to keep moving and this was how she got captured the first time and she couldn’t let that happen again. The sand was painfully so, she missed the rocky lands of her pride… The first time she thought about it in months.

Pulling her body up with a limp and took a few steps forward before crashing in to the hot sand face first. So exhausted, tired. Then lifted herself up before moving forward again… Head down and her body just dragging in a never ending way. Scars adored her body in every muscle and every face of her skin. A hard cookie this one was, a hard cookie. Pushing on again til she smelled something, she looked up.. A watering hole? No... Was she imagining this? Before her body went in to a full sprint towards it and right in to the sand again.. Yes. It was just an illusion before she laid herself out. Feeling now defeated... she will die like this!

Gloz

The sun was high and the world was too damn hot, and still a large brown lion moved slowly across the desert sands, a blue and silver pelt draped over his back to hide his healing wounds. Glozelle didn't particularly like being out in the heat, but he also knew that it was the surest way to regain his strength. It was the harshest form of exercise he knew, while still being intelligent about it. The toughest would be to run through the desert, but that was absurd. In his current state, he could seriously hurt himself.

Like the little lioness he saw when he crested one of the sand dunes. The only noticeable change to him when he saw her was a slight widening of his already half-closed eyes, his ears pointed in her direction. She was lying on the ground, much like he had been when Caspian had found him.
"You're lost." It wasn't a question, merely a low statement as he looked down at her, still some paces away so as not to threaten her.

Zhen

Her orange eyes softly opened. Dragging like. It was a male, and slowly she moved back.. Coughing up the sand in her mouth. Looking like she came back from war, that's what the face showed. "Who are you.." Her paws were slightly shaking from how her body ached. Her black ears padded back against her head. Slowly growling..with a slight snarl of how protective she was being. If she were to push herself, she could run faster but his strides were long.. he was big, and when her neck was tired just looking at him. Going in the stance of one that was just aout to run away.. She will NOT be enslaved again..

Gloz
Gloz sat in the sand, looking somewhat bored and just a tad bit annoyed, but it was from the sun and heat, nothing more.
"I could ask you the same question, and as your elder, I would expect that you give me an answer first," he replied, his tone as neutral as could be. He ignored her defensive posture, it was a natural response. He also ignored the tensing of her body to get ready to run, since he knew that even if he was sitting when she took off, he could catch her.

"But names are irrelevant. What is relevant is the fact that you look like you have not had water in a long time, and I know of a water source and shade not far from here."

Zhen
The juvenile was rash with her whiskers tight and her body trying to look intimidating. Hissing before she huffed and let her steps move sideways slowly. Lowering her head more. "Are you trying to trick me... I am not a slave." She said harshly. Her claws grew out as she took another step. "I am not stupid-!" She screamed out.. "And if you try and trick me- You waste your time." Coughing slightly as her body was telling her to give up, for it ached to much to move. Breathing was hurting. "Elders are thoughs that twist and trick you- I will not respect the likes of you. I don't need help from no one." Sneering it.. Her body just torn up, looking brittle but her will to live always made her push on. When he sat down, she looked parplexed and tilted her head. Not knowing what to say to that.. as she waited for him to move ... and she would flee.

Gloz
"I don't much like little females screaming at me. Or females screaming at me in general. It reminds me of my aunt." His ears flicked back then and his already hooded eyes narrowed sharply. "I did not like my aunt."

He was moving in a heartbeat, fast. Well, not up to his old standards, not yet anyways, but it was still pretty quick. He was on his feet and on her faster than one might have thought him capable, his jaws going for the scruff of her neck so that he could lift her from the ground. It hadn't been completely uncommon that he had to remove a wannabe warrior from the training grounds. He was surprisingly gentle, for his background, size, and general demeanor.
This was part of his penance he supposed. It almost felt like if he took her to the water, into the pridelands, he would feel a bit of the burden of his gilt lift from him.

Or maybe he was just sun-crazy.

Zhen
She angered him, great. The size of him, he could crush her in minutes but she- was fearless without the thought of him possibly killing her. It would lift her from this body that pained her. She was stronger than this body and when he moved she hadn't even had time to growl before he took her up in to his maw and she screeched as she pulled out and started to lash. The air was an enemy now as her claws went in to a fury of lashing out bit by bit but she hadn't hit anything. "LET ME GOOOO~~!!" She growled out. Her roar so minor to anyone in comparisson. Lashing out and hissing as much as she could before dehitration hit her to calm, she was to weak to fight and even then you could see her become delusional as she swayed her head and pawed at the empty air. "I hate you!"

Gloz
Gloz only snorted at her through his nose, unable to make any other sounds of communication with her in his mouth as she was. Let her hate him, he was used to it by now.
Rather than waste any time, he took off at a rather brisk pace, back towards the pridelands, though he did his best not to jar her too much.

It really hadn't been too far. Not long and he was more or less dropping her into the shallows of a pool in the oasis.
"Drink." The command had a bit of a bark to it, left over from his days as a general, but other than that he made no other moves nor acknowledgements towards her presence. He moved a few paces from her and followed his own order, drinking until the dryness of having to carry such a sandy body had left his mouth.

Zhen
When she was plopped to the ground, a splash came almost right after and only but lost her mind. Splashing in it- she couldn't even fanthom seeing water. Splahsing in it as her body raised on end. "Water!" She yelled out and almost disbelief and splashed around a few more times before dunbking her head fully in it and lavishing her tongue and face in it. Oh sweet grandmother, you have allowed me to drink of water that you could have evaporated. Her grandmother, the goddess of Fire was just as equally prayed to in her mind. Gulping down the liquid as if it were her life unknowing that breath was needed. She started to choke while still in the water before throwing her head up to gasp for air. Her breath sounded to gruffed up and lack of water even if she had more than her fill. "Water.." She laughed out loud and drank until she looked over at the male. He was huge, with what she said to him. he could have killed her or enslaved her yet.. he didn't?

More than confusion she kept lapping and starring at him before stopping and wheezed a little. "Why." She hastely said, still looking a bit rough, just now her hair was spiked everywhere with no end to the madness the water caused on it.

Gloz
"If you keep drinking like that, you will make yourself sick. Slow," Gloz said, having retired to a shady spot to lie down. Hot as he was, he kept the pelt on his back, he did not like others seeing the healing flesh beneath it.
Gold eyes watched her as she moved to look at him, a couple of times in fact. And then she asked him the one question he didn't really want to answer. Why? Why had he rescued her from the desert sands, brought her back to the pride where he wasn't even truly welcomed, brought her to life-giving water, hadn't hurt her even though she had yelled at him and fought? So why had he gone to the trouble?

Perhaps it was because he felt sorry for her. A lioness too young to really be out on her own as she was, wandering to her death in the sands. Or, perhaps he saw a bit of himself in her. How many times had Ilea towered over him? How many times had she grabbed him by the scruff only to toss him away?
Or maybe he had just been in a mood.

So he shrugged, one ear twitching once as he studied the little female.
"It took no pains to do so." There, that was a sufficient answer, wasn't it?

Zhen
She flopped back on the water, sitting in it and looked down at it. Marveling at the liquid and how just water can bring her back to reality but now she was tired. She smelt a lot of lions, the scents were strong and she hadn't want to be enslaved again. "...." Slowing down her laps before she rose her head again. The water on her wounds was soothing but somehow painful all at once. She treasured this feeling like no other. Knowing she'd probably not see it again for a while. It hurt and that's when she knew she had to leave again. With a roughness to it, she jumped out of the water, leaving her body to drip on its own before taking a few steps back and side ways. Before slowly backing more and more before she was a few feet before getting ready to dash again. Pulling her body back and throwing herself on to the sand to try and out run the large male. She could do it right? Or so she thought. When she did, she took the hill a little too hard and grunted as she rolled down the sand hill. Feeling the sand burning her face and getting back in to her wounds, causing a dust storm to follow at her wake.

Gloz
Gloz sighed as he watched her try to run away. Did she really think she could get away? Well, fine, let her go. If she wanted to be stupid, it was no skin off his back. She didn't want to stay in a safe place, that was her problem. She said something about not being a slave, meaning at the very least that she knew what one was. Worst case scenario, she'd been one before.

Hearing the sound of tumbling after she disappeared over the hill, the large lion stood with a sigh and followed her. She was at the bottom of the hill, lying in a heap.
"You really are a strange little thing, leaving an oasis for desert," he said before picking her up again and carrying her back to the shade, setting her down on a little patch of grass.

Zhen
The pain she felt physically pushing herself wasn't exactly a happy one. No, the painful hardship of being abused and used a a cheetah's toy or a toy of a mistress wasn't exactly appealing. Also her body was pushed to its limits and now she was paying for it. As with no fight in her now, she was carried back to safety once again in the small patch of grass.. It almost felt too good to be true. When she was placed back down she coiled around it and bundled up in the grass.. Tears began to run from her eyes as she laid there. "I rather die free then ..be enslaved in an oasis.." Her voice was breaking as she pleaded to him, sneering in a snappy yet painful hurtful.

Her body already gave up. Grasping the small bit of grass between her paws and pulling it close. "I'm NOT A SLAVE!!" She cried out, from the bottom of her heart. "PLEASE!~ PLEASE!!" Screaming it until her body just laid her to rest on the grass.. Touching the softness, her eye level to his paws.. Closing her eyes and softly openning them. Admitting now defeat. Accepting something she would never have before admitted to but when your body was so small for the stuff she went through. It gave in. Everything ailed and her scars hurt the worse. "Please..no more.." Letting it all out and tried to compose herself but how could a child comprehend composing themselves and being in so much pain when others would have cried over a p***k in their paw. Not the gashing, torn up wounds that decorated her whole body in.

Gloz
Gloz watched her as she moved and whimpered. She was a broken little thing, inside and out, that he was certain of. Ebio would have a field-day mothering her. But Ebio wasn't here and he was. And that was the worst part of it. He was not a comforting figure, he was death on four paws, a commander and a tool of war. And when his aunt had beat him and his cousin, he could do nothing for her. When she had cried, he told her to stop crying, if she cried Ilea would come back.

"You are not a slave," he replied, his words short and a little clipped.
"Quiet!" he barked when she started crying out, ears back and face moved into a stern frown. He was still on thin ice with his brother and he did not need some would-be hero coming to rescue the little female he was "Trying to enslave".

"This pride that has no slaves. You are here because you are exhausted and I do not need a dead cub on my conscious. Stay, leave, I don't care what you do, but if I see you try to stumble off again before you are strong enough to last more than half a day in the desert, I am obligated to bring you back to safety."

Zhen
When she cried, it hurt to even cry. She was begging for her life- and that in her pride was dishonorable but the heat, delusions.. what could one expect. Retorting her head back and tucking herself closer in the tight nit ball she had succomb to. Sniffling as she ailed upon the floor in front of this male so strong. When he agreed, she was not a slave.. she couldn't help but to pathedically cry a silent cry. "That's all I am.." She spoke so softly now, gasping for air. She hadn't ever cried.. her first cry since she ran away from home from emotional heart ache. Now this was all in one wonder.

"Why do you care. How do I know." She looked up to him, the sun hanging over head which made her pained to look. She only went out at night in her old pride. Then to be put to the sun. It was a horrid place. This desert wasteland except for the oasis she found herself in. A piece of heavan, as she gasped for air before eyeing the male again.. then slowly though her muscles were sore rose. Lowed to thr ground still she spoke. "Why not leave me to waste.. why help..why help.." Her head felt light recieveing water from being to dried and now slightly filled. Leaning from one side to the next. Before flopping down again on her side. "I hate vultures.." Her voice was soft yet rough as it now spoke with her tongue filled with moist.

Gloz
"No. Right now you are a weak cub that needs rest, no more than that," Gloz replied, his tone returning to its neutral state. And all the while, he wanted to growl and snap. Must she keep questioning him?? If she had been a trainee, she would have been flat on her back and then sent back to the females to learn the trade of the den.

"We shall get this straight. I do not care. About anything. You are here only because I thought to repay the debt I owe my brother for doing the same to me when I was dying in the sands. His heart is softer, he will be glad you were saved solely for the fact that you are young and an innocent. Perhaps it will also turn a healer's attention away from me so that I may have some peace while I have to remain here. Whatever reason I may have, it does not concern you." There, those were good enough reasons, weren't they?

"What vultures?" Gloz knew that vultures were not something thought very highly of here, that much he had learned in the time he spent healing in the pridelands his brother had found.

Zhen
He spoke, and she merely listened silently. Almost not enough fight anymore to bite back. The only one who saved her like this was one other whom asked nothing in return. The one whom mended her wounds and cared for her without question, while she fought back and bit the healer when she could. Only to be healed again and again by her- when she was away getting herbs. That's when the snare of an evil serpant that enslaved her.. She nodded.. Then a smile grew, a delerious one of sorts. "...The ones that pluck at your skin when they think your dead...." She had calmed just a little. Managing to get the words out before looking at the water. Closing her eyes. "...Promise the vultures won't try to eat me anymore.." She could remember the painful feeling when they started to pluck at her skin that tore from her so long ago. When they did, a hybrid came and bombrushed them, seeing Zhen and taking her in to the bushes.. Healing.. That's when she felt the smooth herbs on her bare wounds.

"I a not innocent.. " A hurtful subject. "I don't have a demon..I shamed my family." Tears started to form again. "Can I sleep now.. Can i die here." She asked in such kind whispers so ill to her, before all the strain made her tired and slowly her hearing went from watery to almost muted.

Gloz
Gloz bared his teeth at her ever so slightly.
"Do not speak of vultures here. It will get you into trouble." There was something of a growl in those words, but he only sat there, looking down at her with a frown on his face. "You have my word." Now that she wasn't crying, she seemed almost mad. Perhaps she was sun-sick, or he had simply found an insane cub, talking about demons and shaming her family. There was no such thing as demons.

"Sleep. Perhaps when you wake, a huntress will have brought you some food to eat," he replied, standing and getting ready to leave, once she was unconscious. She would be safe in the time it would take him to find Ebio, the gods knew she was never too far away from him. It almost seemed like every moment, she was just pawsteps away, ready to poke at him, either physically or emotionally. Both, more often than not.

Zhen
"...." She couldn't really comprehend. "Thank you..." Maybe just maybe.. her savior. So much like her father in some ways, except. Different all the same. Weaving in and out of reality. "No more black wings.." She whispered again. The only words she managed to get out before falling in to sleep. Her body fully now in rest from the aches of few years she has been alive. The pains of yesterday now becoming void. Finally, she wouldn't feel the pain. Finally, let her be.. and she will die here under the sun, or wake for a new day to ask for forgiveness.
