It hurt. It hurt every night Lina phased into her Knight form and brushed against the energy of everyone in Destiny City. Humans didn't really register on her senses but the senshi, the Negaverse, even the stray guardian cat here and there. Her scouter located every single one of them as senses reached out to try and make sense of the energy brushing against her mind. Once it had been easy to pinpoint senshi from Nega, their rank, and perhaps even how far away they truly were.
Not now. With the loss of memory came the muddle sense of energy and she couldn't have told friend from foe with much accuracy until they were nearly on top of her and in great danger. There was also another side affect of her abandonment of the Negaverse that was not so benign and it didn't go away no matter how hard she practiced at it.
It was a craving, a longing, a burning in her hands that longed to wrap around the brilliant power of a star seed and consume it so that the power would whip through her veins. Standing in the shadows it was impossible for anyone but Lina to see her black-covered hands flex almost painfully and her shoulders bow with the knowledge that there was nothing she could do about it.
There was only one thing to do.
Feet carried her across town and silently the knight slipped silently into the bedroom she shared with Elzo Xanis. It was a betrayal of one of her more strict rules -- never bring the supernatural world into their apartment. It was a haven away from such things but she couldn't help it. She didn't even think about it as her blue-edged glowing body crawled on the bed and her hands pressed to his skin.
Right over his chest where beneath skin and bone, the star seed of Prince Castor slept. It felt so good. It was never enough. Tears stood in her eyes, illuminated by her own glow as she pressed just that much harder, hoping to feel something. Feel more.

Going to bed without her in his arms was always difficult for Elzo. It either took pure exhaustion, pills, pain, or dealing with his father to leave him unable to stay up for her to return. Tonight it had been work on Castor, the wall finished and the start of making the space inside the villa livable. Combined that on top of a mountain of paper work he'd been putting off, and Elzo had crashed and gone to sleep far quicker than he'd have liked. But the feeling of something, someone joining him in bed got a slow rise from him, senses slightly returning.
The waves of blue were what he saw first and he smiled. Daphne was home and- Then he felt the leather, the weight of her on top of him. This was not right. She never came home powered. It was an unspoken vow. Their apartment was their haven. Why would she- Then his eyes widened. Her hand on his chest, the look of a lust he knew his body couldn't sate. The blue glow of her form was outlined in the moonlight yet Castor saw more than her body, he saw pain. She craved him in a way that was haunted. The same look he'd seen on the faced of addicts who couldn't get a fix. Pain, sorrow, loss, agony. "Daphne." Her name was a whisper.
Arms reached out, pulling her down on top of him, pressing her powered body to his. "Daphne, its alright. I'm here Daphne. Amore. Amore. Mio Amore." Soft whispers and he ran his hands in her hair. "It hurts but it's okay, I'm here. I'm here for you." Blue eyes went back to the illuminated brown. "Come back to me Daphne."

Her name and his hands in her hair returned the knight to some of her senses and with a long shudder, moved from her powered form back into the normal human one of Daphne. Hands curled into fists and one punched the bed with impotent frustration. They still burned and she'd gained nothing from it but worrying Elzo. Smooth. "I'm sorry. Sometimes I just can't help it...I don't know what happens."
The grace in all of this was that her hands couldn't penetrate his chest and feel the power beneath in her hands. Oh it would have decidedly soothed the ache in her hands but what happened on those days when she barely knew who she was around the driving need? Would she have pulled it from his chest without even realizing who it was beneath her cruel, cold touch? Not even Cosmos could cure addiction.
That was, if nothing else, a truly human condition. "I knew it from the first time they told me to eat the seed or they would force me to. I never never never wanted this but they showed me it could help me heal. After that..." Her forehead pressed hard in against his chest. "I am so sorry Elzo."

He let the sigh of relief pass his lips when she powered down, the image of Daphne filling his vision. Arms wrapped around her, Elzo kept her close, enjoying the feeling of her soft weight on top of him, clothed in non-sleep wear or not. Even if her layers were and always would be his eternal foe. Her punch of the bed got his hand seeking, fingers inter lacing while he bent up nipping on her ear. "Hush, you think I'm upset?" He kissed his way down her neckm stopping when there was no more skin exposed.
"You've gone from addict to cold turkey. It's like....when I stopped having sex. wanted to. It would have been easy to get my if I had my way but I couldn't." He was smiling at her gently still at odd with just what she was addicted to..and what getting her fix meant. "I couldn't get my fix because all I could think about was you. You cured my addiction. Not some book, not some heavenly body, just you."
Then it came up again, the force that had gotten her addicted, her dealer. The ones who'd tried to turn her into a monster. The back of his gut wanted to rage, and find them and destroy them for what they had done, blame them for her pain. It was always them, never her. No, to Elzo it never would be her. In his eyes she was perfect, and any flaws she had only served to heighten her perfection. "Don't be sorry, never be sorry." Another kiss. "Do you want to talk about it or-"
He kind of regret offering because it was such a sore spot for them. But- Seeing her in pain hurt him more than he cared to admit.

Daphne couldn't help but giggle as lips moved at her neck, warm from sleep and tickling at her skin. It wasn't the full-bodied belly laughs that she was known for but a laugh was a laugh; laughs were never bad signs. He hadn't gone very far of course stopping, oddly enough, right above where his pendant started to slide into the recesses of her shirt.
Fingers pulled the chain so the length of crystal came free and it was clenched in her free hand. Her own tightened a bit around Elzo's as she took a deep breath and shook her head. "No, talking about it always seems to make us fight and I never want to fight with you if I can help it. This is what it is and there's nothing...nothing I can do but keep trying to resist. We all have our crosses to bear and this is mine." A pause and another laugh, this one somewhat mocking and rueful. "Listen to me. I sound like my great-gran all the way out in ******** Courtland." Dropping the pendant Daphne kissed her husband so softly, smiling in the darkness.
"I cured you? All those weeks of painful celibacy when all you could do was cuddle me an hour or two a day? And then I run off on you as soon as I turn eighteen and you have to wait even longer. Poor Castor." It was the way it was. Alone, Lina was Daphne and Elzo was Castor. They spoke more from memory and affection than anything and it was something the bluenette was never conscious of.
"Maybe you can cure me. You've already done most of it, haven't you?"

Good, he wanted to hear her voice less somber and sullen. The more giggles and laughter from her the better. "Fair enough, another night..or day perhaps. I'd probably just end up getting drowsy and nodding off mid-fight. The office was backed up with paper work. I think Marlo is getting me back for dumping so much on his plate in such a short amount of time." Somewhere, Marlo felt his ears burning.
Another kiss, this one to the tip of her nose. "I went from one addiction to another. My addiction was...bad. But then you gave me the resolve to fight it. And for a while I was clean. 6 months sober. Then we ******** up." He grinned. "And we ********." He rolled her onto her back, this time placing him on top. "And I was addicted to something new. Something wonderful and strange. It was you. You became by addiction and drug. And look at me now." deep blue eyes were alight with mischief. "So what do ya say? You can feed my addiction and I'll feed your's?"
He pushed of the bed, getting to his feet. "Some cinnamon buns for some midnight cuddlings with the drug known as Daphne?" He chuckled looking at her. "Addiction doesn't go away, not really. Maybe you just need a new outlet is all. Just don't turn into one of those 48 hour no break WoW people. I'd wither and die from the lack of attention."

Eyes rolled and she yanked on his hand with all the strength in her tiny body, pulling Elzo back down onto the bed as she leapt out of it. "Sometimes I wonder if you put a plate of star seeds next to a plate of cinnamon rolls from Shufflepuck, which one would I go for? Such questions I hope we never need to know the answer to because I will probably betray myself as a cinnamon roll lover of the first rank." She was already stripping out of her shorts and plucking up her favorite shirt from the ground where it lay. It was only a few shades duller than Elzo's eyes and had been in his closet until she had shamelessly appropriated it.
Jeans were shucked for a pair of black shorts with starbursts all over them and the shirt hung on her tiny frame over her tank by a single button. By his estimation she probably looked quite ready to be tossed back in bed, his addiction coming long before hers. Aware of this, the bluenette bustled towards the door and beamed down at the bed innocently. "You did mean to feed me first, right Castor?"
She waited until he was nearby to raise on her toes and kiss him lightly. "And just so you know, I was that WoW person before all of this. Before I had a reason to leave the house I had no friends. Just Janice Fitzpatrick as my mortal enemy, clicking pen for a weapon, and all the World of Warcraft I could cram into my day."

He laughed at her as he was pushed back onto the bed. "See, you might be a recovering addict, but in the end you pick what is better. You're not some monster Lina. You're you. Beautiful, flawed, perfect. The past-" The past was full of pain and hurt, for the both of them. "Is just that. Past. We can't ignore it but the hell if I let it ruin what we have, what we fought and nearly died for." He propped himself on his elbows just to wtach her change. He didn't watch her with lust but instead with tenderness. She had scars on her skin from the trails she'd faced and survived. Some were deeper than that. Some he knew were in her heart. It was those scars he wanted to heal.
"I will give you a million cinnamon buns before a starseed. And if I must give you a starseed it would be my own. I don't want to see you fall to the darkness. I'd have to be dead before I'd let that happen." If she fell, he'd fall with her, one way or the other.
Her kiss made him smile. She was perfect to him, flaws and all. "Then on the rare event I ran into you I ******** that up. Giving you flowers, asking you to dance, luring you to clubs to seduce you. Do you know how much I wanted to push you up against the wall and just kiss you?" He did want to do it. Each time that they were alone he'd wanted to. "Lets get you some food and then we can talk Videogames. Computery things." He had no idea about the other games, she'd been the computer lover, not him. "Maybe we can get you that one game Aeon. Aon. Ion? ******** I dunno."
Getting out of bed, Elzo shuffled over to the freezer, pulling out a cinnimon roll and stuck it on a plate, yawning. He was tired but not hungry. "You need a new outlet, sticking you in this place all day with nothing to do isn't healthy." The microwave buzzed as the bun cooked. Elzo just halfway lwaning on the counter, half debating saying ******** it and dragging her to bed.
He could cuddle in bed.

Sliding in against the leaning Elzo, Daphne wrapped an arm around his lower back and cuddled her cheek in against his heart. She was short enough that it wasn't much of a stretch for her to place her head against his sternum, soothed by the strong beat there. "I have cravings but if there's one thing I never want, it's to see your star seed. Ever. I've never seen it and I never want to." She had felt it though. There had been that one time at the Halloween masquerade where a hand had slipped into Eternal Sailor Castor's chest and...augh.
A hand scrubbed against her thigh to rub the sting out and one simply slipped up under his shirt to rub against the skin of Elzo's back for comfort. "Besides, I have the job at the candy shop now. This kid Zac that hired me? I found him in a closet at Hillworth the one day did I mention that? He's so stuffy, it's a wonder he works in a candy shop of all places." She was babbling and she knew it, so there was some relief when the timer went off on the microwave and the deliciousness inside could be removed.
Also because Elzo was looking at her like he was contemplating how well she could eat lying down with him wrapped around her like a snuggie. Daphne knew that look and it made her grin. "If you get icing all in the sheets I might have to change my mind. I'm fickle like that you know."

She was calming down, relaxing and it was just what he wanted. Daphne upset was something that would always weaken him and make him worry. He'd lost her once, and that was more than enough. The starseed comment had him smirking. "I can bring out one type of crystal." The Castorian crystal would drag out all the youma in the city sure but he had a hunch about what it would do. It wouldn't fuss, not with Daphne around. It was a part of him, and even if his crystal might lash back at him, he didn't think the crystal would bring her harm, more then likely it would protect her.
She was precious to him, Elzo could only guess his powers if they acted on their own would act for her benefit. He refused to think he could do her harm with the magic of his world. It was her arrival that had brought spring's return after all. "But that is for another night." A night with less cravings, less jumbled emotions and thoughts.
"Oh fine then." A huff, "eat out here. But we need some rest." His hand ran down her hair. "You and I both have work tomorrow, and when you get home tomorrow I expect you to smell like chocolate." His smiled turned wolfish. "But I know you'll taste even sweeter."
