Honestly I don't remember who exactly is guilty of this and it's by no means the majority, but I've seen it in the LSG before as well as in real life and it's a little annoying so I thought I'd get out my thoughts on it.
I'm talking about when girls go "I hate other girls they're so bitchy and mean and they're so girly and vapid and shallow etc. etc. etc." and it's usually followed up with "I'm much better friends with guys than girls" or "I should just not have girl friends at all and just be friends with lesbian girls or gay guys or -other stereotype here-".
I know most of the time, it's not serious. I know you're not actually swearing off women and I know you're not going around hunting down women holding Cosmopolitan magazine and wearing make up. I know you're not going to seek out lesbian girls or gay guys just to make friends with them because of their sexuality. I know that.
But don't people see, when people say things like that, they're only perpetrating the stereotypes and the gender roles further? Just because you're not a girly girl who wears dresses and puts on make up and paints their nails, doesn't make you special. You play video games and drink beer and fart all the time? Good for you. But it doesn't make you superior to other girls. Feel free to take pride in breaking social norms, whatever, but realise that in doing so, you're only affirming those norms even further. You're creating a wall between those who do, and those who don't. When really, all we really are huge sacks of sentient meat who are trying to get through life with the minimum of fuss.
Vapid, shallow, bitchy and dumb people come from both genders. To imply that girls are -horrible adjective here- based off your experience of one or a few girls, that is misogyny.
It absolutely boggles my mind when I hear girls say "I hate all women, this one bitchy person did this to me" and then fellow women join in and agree with that and share their own experiences of one bitchy person, whilst simultaneously affirming their hatred of all women.
It happens the other way as well though, when one bad incident with a male means I HATE ALL MEN. What I don't notice though is men agreeing with that sentiment, at least not seriously. Generally, I see men go "Oh not all men are like that!" and defending themselves. Why isn't this behaviour more apparent in women?
So I just wanted to say, if you ever hear someone bitching like this, please call them out on it.
tl;dr Shitty people are shitty people, regardless of gender.

No yeah that annoys me too.
Girls don't make bad friends. However, I believe that girls work much harder on friendships with guys, so those don't fail catastrophically, which is why everyone says OH I LOVE HANGING OUT WITH GUYS BECAUSE THERE'S NO DRAMA. No, you just need to learn how to pick female friends better. But this happens to so many girls that more and more people start to believe that girls just don't make good friend.

I find it especially annoying when girls brag about how much of a dude they act like.
It's not unattractive, but it isn't any less obnoxious.
If you're just like one of the guys, if you like to play video games, then just do it. Do "the guys" go on about how they're "totally just one of the guys?" No, they are so and feel no need to declare themselves as such constantly.
Same goes for "GRRL/GURL/GIRL GAMURZ/GMRZ/GAMERZ/GAMERS".
I do not give two shits of your gender, I am here to be entertained and play video games, god damn it.
Of course this is, just like you said, only perpetuating stereotypes, but hey.

I'm one of those people who would never say that.
I think about 90% of my entire friends are female.
But yeah I mean girls who say that to me are usually the sort of
aggressive, bitchy pushy type anyways :<

HEY YOU, YEAH YOU.
Read Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy.
She explores the same sort of phenomenon you're talking about here. It's pretty short, illuminating and hilarious.
I wrote some papers in college using that book as a major source.

i say that, but i don't like to brag about the fact that i have mostly guy friends. i've always been eager to have friends of both genders, but generally throughout my life the closest girl friends of mine have ******** me over in a big big way. i have other girl friends who i see around at school and in classes, but the only ones that i've ever gotten close enough to hang out with are the ones who end up tearing me up from the inside. i don't know what it is and i've been trippin about it for a few months. and yet the boys (well, men) that i'm friends with have been close with me for years. i've never had any kind of falling out with any of them, ever. so that's why when i say i'm no good at keeping girl friends, i.. mean it.

i don't see how i'm doing the female gender a serious injustice by saying i get on better with guys. it's a fact, i do. every female i've ever met, self included has more drama following them than any guy. there are differences between the two genders that go beyond genitalia. i've never said i hate girls, i just never feel as close to them as i do guys. and the last year living with 7 other females has been pretty drama-filled, despite the fact that we're mostly similar in our thoughts about drama and bitching. in contrast, the houses of 8 guys i know have had little to no drama. it's not just a coincidence, our brains function differently. i'm not gonna go around saying i hate dem whores or anything but you can't just ignore the fact that males and females are for the most part very different kinds of people.

I completely agree, I see this in the LSG all the time. However I'm also guilty of, "ALL MEN SUCK", but I'll stop saying this as even when I do say I know it's not true at all and I'm just exaggerating.

Girls are catty, whiny, drama-filled asswipes.
Women, however.
I have friends who are women, and friends who are girls, and its pretty easy to tell the difference.
