Claudine growled angrily at a large tree log that had fallen on the path she had chosen to walk on today. How dare this god forsaken forest plot against her! She trotted a long the side of the log contemplating her next move. Surely the forest could not have done something so stupid. However, her 'mother' had told her that the forest had spirits that dwelled within it that did not like those that chose the darker path in life. Claudine had not believed a word of what she had said because the mare was nieve and useless. Just like her father and brother. Oh how she despised those things that thought they were related. The only one that seemed to have the possibility of being related to her was her grandmother. But then again that mare had fallen for such a weak stallion and allowed herself to be won over to the lighter side of life. Claudine sighed, allowing herself to stand still for a few moments to calm herself down some. She needed something to entertain her for awhile, even if it was only for a short while. But who would be worthy enough to be blessed with her presence?

User ImageIt wasn't often that Silas chose to wander the forest. They had a pretty one that crept right up to the rocks and cliff tops, and ended at a stretch of grass that was something of a breakline between the forest and beach. Apparently the soil there was too sandy to support something like a tree in the middle of a famous ocean storm.

He still had those seashells braided into his mane, for even though he had lighter colors he and his brother still looked too much alike for their poor mother, with her bad eyesight, to tell apart at a glance. Normally the beach was his favorite place to find materials, but today Silas was feeling like trying something new. Maybe the forest would hold things of interest to him?

Silas had been making fine time, though not much progess, when he heard a growl. It didn't make him think large predator, so he stopped and doubled back, trying to track it. There, down a different path he had gone down (the second path was famous as a resting place for fallen trees) was (surprise!) a fallen tree, blocking the way. But something else. Bright orange stripped with brown, not something that looked natural in these settings.

"Hello," Silas called, tentatively.

Claudine looked wickedly at the dark blue colt that stood not more then a few feet away from her. She took in his lighter blue markings and shells that were tied into his mane. This made her slightly curious. Who in their right mind would wear such things in their hair? A small grin came to her muzzle. Maybe he wasn't in his right mind. It would make this meeting more interesting. she thought to herself and she began to think up ways to torture the little colt. But then she also began to question his use to her. He seemed to have a stonger built body, which meant he could be used for several types of combat that would each bring her pleasure to watch. "Hello my silly little friend." She said, testing to see if he would be worthy to talk to. Claudine wasn't sure yet just how he would be useful to her, but she would soon find out. "Why are you out here in this dark forest today?" She continued to ask. Maybe he was just as dark minded as her. Oh how she hoped and longed that he was.

Silas stopped abruptly, mildly surprised at the voice that answered his question. First off he hadn't even been certain there was someone out here. That orange and brown could have been mushrooms for all he knew. Second the voice was the high pitch of a foal, but had a certain fake quality to it. Not fake like someone trying to imitate the voice of a foal, but more like the words being spoken and the meaning behind them weren't quite matching up.

In that case he should speak up firmly and in a tone that brooked no nonsense. He wasn't going to let some unseen voice push him around! "I live here," Silas said firmly. True enough, since he lived quite close by. The colt slowly swept his gaze across the foliage, shells tinkling lightly when he moved his head.
