The school trip the library was in Lissy's opinion the most boring school trip anyone could go on. Why would you want to go to the library? She had also had the scissors she had tried to bring confiscated but she still had a pen, some little bits of paper and glue well hidden away!

The library trip had been boring, they had to all sit and listen to a story and then they were all sent to look at the books while the teachers all chatted. Lissy made a mental reminder to never come here again, however she went looking for books.

The first few books she found she wrote little notes in. She was pretty good at faking her parents signatures and so she tended to write neatly. The words she wrote on the slips of paper were something like - "I been missing you call me..." Or... "I need you, please ring..." The numbers were numbers off of some magazines she had found at her brothers place. They all had girls not wearing anything in them and Lissy thought that wrong but it was her brother.

Next plan was to attack the books with glue and so she went in search of a book that needed gluing.

'Wind and the Willows' yep that would do. She pulled it off the shelf and got the glue out, sticky sticky sticky.

Kids coming to the library was not an unusual event. Many of the schools in the area, of all ages, came in when they were working on projects, or just wanted to introduce the students to the vital research hub that was the library. Most of the time, the kids just went on the computers and played on the internet, of course.

He preferred it, really, when the younger schools came in. While some were enchanted by the computer there were still many who liked the books and wanted to read or at least look at pictures.

Of course, there were still some other kids who were not interested in either activity, and brought their own.

Tony found the trouble maker when she was in the middle of gluing a helpless book together. He knew it was too late for the book, just by looking, and moved to her side. He cleared his throat, hoping to gain her attention and scare her out of what she was doing.

"I don't think that's the intended use for that book," he said, trying not to sound as mortified as he felt.

Lissy did jump as this strange person appeared next to her. She just looked at him wondering who he was and then he spoke.

"What else are they good for then mister? Reading is just boring, everyone knows that." She then continued to glue it together. Whether she didn't realise or just didn't care that he was librarian was well anyone's guess but she carried on regardless. Not only did she carry on but she also started to hum a little tune, one of those that was a hit in the charts at the moment.

Once the book was glued to her satisfaction she closed it and put it back on the shelf.

"Will be well funny when someone tries to read that!" She laughed and ran along the aisle and picked another book. Apparently it would take more then a stranger to stop her.

The librarian frowned.

He couldn't disagree. He wasn't much of a reader, beyond the books from his own personal collection. And even those he didn't read all of them. He skimmed sometimes, or just put them on the shelves more often than not. Even so, that did not compel him to destroy them.

And those were his own books. What were parents teaching their children, if they thought destroying the property of the library was okay?

He reached and grabbed the book she had ruined, shaking his head. He would have to talk to her teacher, and bring her to the desk to call her family. Someone was going to have to pay for the book now.

"No one is going to try and read it, and you need to stop this right now. I'm the Librarian here, and these are, for all intents and purposes, my books that you're ruining. Now I'll have to call your parents, and tell your teacher. This is bad. You can't do stuff like this, or you'll get in trouble."

He followed after her, hand sticking to the book that was drying and gross. He reached with his other hand to press his palm against the book she was pulling from the shelf, keeping it in place.

"Come with me to the front desk, please."

Lissy didn't mind too much if he called her parents as she wasn't from the most functional of families! So she just turned to him ignoring the little talk about the property and more of the going to the front desk!

"No! You will have to catch me first" she laughed and darted away almost certain that he would get bored and she could go back to her little "tricks" though she did peer to see if anyone was at the desk as she was now sure that she would do something to the desk as well. She weaves out the way of a teacher and moved so that she crouched down behind some books...

She then got the glue back out.

"Hey!"

Tony looked surprised as she darted away from him, hurrying after her. He kept the book in hand, glad the glue was that of a simple school kid, and not something industrial. It might have been stuck to his hand if it were anything but Elmer's White.

He found the smell nauseating, though. It had always been that way, even when he was a kid. The stronger glues he could deal with, but the strange odor of the school age brand always made his stomach do a flip.

There was no way the librarian was going to let her get away from him, now that he knew she was a trouble maker. He caught up to her easily enough, as kids often over estimated their speed and stealth. Hell, teenagers and even some adults he knew were guilty of the same thing.

He moved to reach over and pluck the glue for her hand.

"I don't think so!"

Lissy did not want the glue taken from her! However she was use to this happening and had a spare. The teachers generally checked her over before she left school and kept an eye on her in school but they had been a little slack today and it made Lissy happy! Though of course she wasn't happy that an old guy was chasing her.

"Your weird... an old man chasing a poor school girl!" Lissy smirked and ran off again. She was happy to make things sound odd, after all didn't she have Andeon as a brother? She loved to cause trouble and she could read just as well as the next person... her age. She knew she could get him in trouble, well with anyone but her teachers maybe. As if they would believe anything she made up, they were way too use to her!

She ran around the library a bit before heading to the desk, first thing she did was find the phone cable and pull it out, then she darted off again. She knew it wouldn't be long before the teachers caught her but... she was enjoying herself. Next would be to do something else to his desk. She just wasn't sure what yet!

"I'm not some old-"

He sighed as she ran off again. This was why he was glad he had never known Nate when he was a kid. Sometimes he found himself longing for the chance to have raised him properly, to be a real dad, but then he remembered kids could be brats. He had no doubt in his mind that Nate was probably a terror.

Following her again, he saw her dart toward the desk. Dogby yipped at her, not much for people running in her direction. She was a small dog and people, even kids, were big. She loved playing and getting all the attention in the world, but people running at her or looming over her always made her nervous.

But she lacked any kind of defensive knowledge or the urge to bite. So she whined and barked and skittered to hide as the girl invaded her space. Normally only her master was behind the desk! She surmounted her fear soon enough, though, padding over to the girl to sniff at her, in the hopes of some attention.

Tony reached the desk shortly after, putting the book and the glue on the front counter and then staring at the girl. He had her teacher with him.

The dog had surprised Lissy somewhat, she wasn't really an animal girl but of course she couldn't help but stroke the dog, it was her downfall. Damn dog.

She looked up at the old guy and her teacher and stood up smiling.

"Hey miss, I found a dog. I didn't think dogs were allowed to be kept in library's... I am sure I saw a sign on the door saying no animals." She looked at her teacher in that completely innocent way a child does when they know they have done wrong but they look far from guilty.

"Are we going now then? I will just go and get my stuff..." She walked out from behind the desk before either could say anything and ran over to the other kids. She would get it in the neck once back at school but her teacher knew her well enough not to do it here.

Lissy watched as the teacher spoke to the old guy and wished she knew what they were saying.

Dogby didn't realize she was leading to the capture of a deviant child, of course. She was just in it for the attention, and she wagged her stump of a tail as Lissy petted her on the head. She tried to lick at the young girl's hands, though she was always a bit more gentle in her enthusiasm when she was with younger people.

She seemed to know that the smaller the person was, the easier it was to scare or hurt them. That, or she was just being lazy.

Tony picked Dogby up, watched as Lissy run off, shaking his head. He couldn't be too mad at a child, but this one seemed to be particularly wild. A call to parents was required, and the damages to the book had to be covered.

The librarian had a short conversation with the teacher, smiling and nodding his head a lot, letting her handle the student. That was her job. His job was to take care of the books. And make sure if he ever saw the girl come into the library again to not leave her unattended.

Lest another book suffer a gluey fate.

Luckily for Tony, Lissy wasn't the kind of child who would be back in the library out of choice - though of course she would be dragged back in to apologise by her mother once she heard about it and then her mother would moan about how Lissy was a wild child and they couldn't do anything about it. For now though Lissy just watched as he spoke to her teacher and then left the library with all the other kids.

She couldn't help but stick her tongue out at the librarian as they went past. She thought it was clearly the most appropriate thing to do.

She then waved - as innocently as all the other kids in her class. Lissy was a strange child, there was no doubt about that. At least Tony and his library was safe for now.
