She was getting big. No. She was getting fat! Big was a statement only to be used a few weeks ago. Now…she was huge! It was to the point where she was afraid to sleep in the beautifully crafted hammock that Kaym’itan had given her, in fear of it breaking in the middle of the night when she would be sleeping. Rukopa knew she was pregnant, she had seen other lionesses with the belly bump before. In fact, the queen of the pride had a rather large belly bump if she could remember correctly! And she had 7 cubs! Oh goodness, if Ru had that many she would probably freak.
She sighed, pretty much hobbling her way towards Hometree. Her belly swayed back and forth slowly as she went.

 Kaym'itan hurried in from his nightly patrol, his paws barely touching the ground as he made his way toward Home Tree and the place where he always met his beautiful atokirina. Ru..his mate now, and if he was not mistaken, soon, very soon, to be the mother of his cubs.
His cubs....his family...Eywa but he did not think he would ever have seen this day. He'd thought for sure Toruk would have bet him to this part, but than his cubhood friend had been very careful of his courtship of the young priestess. In many ways, Kaym'itan was glad his love was older and more experienced. In so many words, Ru was just...perfect.
His crimson gaze spotted her making her way to their meeting place, a huge grin coming to his muzzle. Eywa but was there anyone more beautiful than she?
Purring deep in his chest he came up to her, rubbing his cheek against hers, his gruff voice soft and warm, " Oel ngati kameie, beloved." He didn't mention there was a lot of her to See. He valued his life, after all he was about to be a father!

Already at the base of the magnificent tree was the lion that she had become to know and love; the lion that had not only become her friend, her protector, but now was her mate. And she, his.
What once was a story of a rugged rogue life was turning into something just like a fairytale for Ru. In her eyes, she never wanted it to end, even if it was just a normal ‘they lived happily ever after’ ending, it still meant that the story would be over. She would continue to add as many chapters to it as she possibly could. Have Kaym right by her side would help her do so.
Her cerulean eyes locked into his crimson eyes. Just seeing her mate brought flutters to her (or maybe that was the cubs starting to kick. Either way…)
“I see you,” she purred at the cheek rub. She sat down (awkwardly, as her protruding belly made things slightly difficult). As much as she was enjoying the nice ‘alone’ time her and Kaym were able to spend together, she would be very happy once all her cubs were born! She did not enjoy being this large (and how much larger could she get? She may pop soon)! One day she would begin to feel that her mate would not want to see her if she got any bigger.
“I hope your night went well,” she stated, leaning against the blue male, her tail swirling around his.

He purred at her greeting, happily letting her rest against him, taking as much of her weight as she would let him, (and it certainly was more weight than it had been, Eywa but she was absolutely beautiful with his cubs growing beneath her breast).
" My night was mostly uneventful, only a few minor encounters. The rogues are becoming braver, or there is trouble on the savanna. Either way, Toruk and the rest of us will deal with it as we always have." His deep voice was reassuring, filled with the certainty in the abilities of his fellow warriors and in Eywa's watchful eyes.
" Have you broken your fast yet this morning yawne? Or were you able to wait for this old broken warrior to return from his nightly duties?" His tone was teasing, filled with the deep affection he held for his mate, for the love he had been gifted with when she'd come into his life. He had been blessed and not a day went by that he did not thank Eywa for those blessings.

Rukopa listened while her mate spoke, her heart almost skipping a beat when he mentioned encountering some rogues. Although she shouldn’t feel that way (she too was of rogue descent), since the battle with Nafasi ended terrible for her, she had been more frightened for the male each time he would do his nightly travels. She knew he was a skilled warrior, but the fear still remained in her heart.
“You’re not broken,” she giggled. He was far from that. She had in fact not eaten anything since awaking this morning; and she would be lying if she said she wasn’t hungry. The fact that she was not only eating for herself, but a number of cubs too had made her pretty ravenous at all hours of the day, and all hours of the night.
“I’ve been waiting for you, but I don’t think I can wait much longer!” and just as if on cue, a rumble from her stomach broke out in the quiet jungle. The cubs wanted their nourishment.
