Amuxiahd allowed her lip to curl in response to his roar, and when he gave no indication of making the first move she darted forward. She was smaller and quicker than him, and while she hadn't fought extensively in her life, she had all the skills necessary to fight. She had been hunting ever since she was old enough, and could take down prey much larger than herself with virtually no help at all. It was easy for her to get in close, her claws unsheathed as she swiped at his shoulder. She felt the all-too-familiar catch of fur in her claws, and although she was certain she'd drawn blood, she'd made sure the wound was shallow. It would likely heal without scarring over.

Apparently there was some small part of the lion that wasn't an entire a**, because he'd still been debating his right to beat up on a girl when she came at him. He roared his fury when she landed a hit, and with caution thrown aside lashed back at her. He was heavily built, and slow as molasses compared to the darting female - his swipe missed by a mile, serving only to force her to move away from him for a moment. He glanced at his shoulder. Yes, the deep cyan fur was already staining red. It didn't hurt too badly though, and he charged at her.

As soon as she saw his paw coming for her, she quickly darted out of the way. Kuhesh's claws didn't even manage to brush the tip of her tail, and she couldn't hide her entertained smile. It had been ages since she'd fought anyone who would fight back, and the adrenaline was beginning to make her giddy. Her smile twitched outwards when the lion turned and barreled towards her, and she was quick to sidestep his charge, effortlessly darting out of his way. She made no move to attack him again, instead remaining tauntingly close but just out of reach of his claws.

Still enraged, the lion didn't pay attention to the fact that he was being taunted. He lunged at the female again, swinging wildly, and once more missed. He snarled his frustration. Why'd she have to be so fast and nimble? He wanted to sink in those claws and teach her not to taunt him. Even if it was a mean thing to do, and he'd been rude to her first. Maybe he could lure her in close again...

Once again Amuxiahd effortlessly darted away when he attacked her, slipping beneath each attempted attack and darting around behind him. This time, she allowed the laughter that wanted to bubble up to escape, and it rang around the area. She was giddy on a mixture of adrenaline and amusement at his repeated failures to land a hit, and she stood behind him, her tail swaying and eyes filled with mirth. "Oh come now, Kuhesh! Surely a big strong male like you can do better than that! Don't let one tiny female outwit you." Her words were light and teasing, completely devoid of the malice that might be behind a true taunt. She had no need to taunt him, after all. He was already worked up.

He was tempted to charge her again when she taunted, but surely that'd just be what she wanted. Instead he hung back, waiting to see if she would come to him. "Male or female, that isn't important! And you're not the one I was supposed to kill!" He hissed at her, pacing once more, fur raised to make him seem huge. "Why do you care, hmm? Why bother me? You said you hate running into be, so get lost! Once I get my bearings I'll leave, and you'll never have to see me again. Well? Get lost!"

She purred low in her throat at his words, fur smooth as she darted forward once again. This time she did not merely brush past him, and chose to tackle him to the dirt once again. She hovered above him, pressing a paw to his chest and digging her claws into his mane. Her tail swayed behind her as she leaned down, whispering directly into his ear. "Now you're the one putting words into my mouth. I never said I hated running into you. I merely said I was annoyed that you scared off all the prey." She smiled, allowing her words to sink in before once again darting away before he could get in a hit.

Kuhesh was too busy fuming to keep himself from being pushed over. Curses he hated this lioness! Or at least he told himself he did. He didn't like people, didn't like being social at all, didn't like being shown up, and especially didn't like pushy females...but her weight on top of him...He pushed the thought aside and rolled away. "Even then you're wrong," He mumbled. "There was no prey here when I arrived. So I didn't scare anything off." He lashed his tail and turned his head to groom his wound. He was still mad at her. But he didn't feel the need to kill her any more.

She kept her distance for a moment, before returning to Kuhesh's side when she was certain the fight was over. She sat down near him, staying be a hare's length away from his side and lifting up a paw to delicately groom herself. "There were hares I could have reached within their burrows. As soon as they heard you coming, they darted deep enough that I could no longer reach them."
She smiled lightly, eyes flicking towards the lion. She had not been expecting it, but there was something about him. Something beneath the rough and annoyed exterior that pulled at her. She decided then that should might just stick around until she found out what it was, or it had been resolved. What was an extended hunting trip away from the pride, after all? She could easily bring something large back to make up for her absence.
