614 Oak street is a simple two-story house in the mountains of Vermont. On the outside, it’s a modest house with four bedrooms, a porch, and a shed in the backyard. What the average spectator cannot see is the three levels of basements underneath the house and a converted cooler room made entirely out of metal. The shed in the backyard? Oh…no one goes in there anymore with the infestation of black widows and other such unpleasant little creatures.
Perhaps the only real oddity of 614 Oak street is the family itself. For one thing, Mr. Ralph Miller is a foster parent who has helped raise over seven foster children since he was forty years old. Being over sixty has yet to stop the man’s charitable nature, and at present is fostering five children in his mountain home with the help of a long-time friend who has been raising her daughter since they lived in their Canadian home. Although not…exactly retired, this police officer usually brings his work home with him. Often spending an hour in his office going over cold cases and criminal records…for some odd reason nothing ever seems to be solved.
Underneath the surface of this ‘happy home’, Ralph and his younger friend Maple Tennor are serial killers. Ms. Tennor because of experience, Ralph by association. What they are mum to state it that these ‘foster’ children are the offspring of serial killers that were either killed, convicted of homicide, or confined to an insane asylumn. Taken at the very young age of three or earlier, these children were raised to be the perfect children. Perfect killers that is. For three boys and three girls (who have not yet left the nest) they have been home schooled, and taken to foreign countries every summer. They have no problem shedding blood; in fact, they relish it. However, with that love comes the brains necessary to hide any and all evidence of their crimes. One older ‘brother’ has already graduated from Harvard Law School in the hopes of one day becoming a supreme court judge. Above their talents and trademark skills, supporting and caring for each other is whats most important. After all, there are so very few sane people. Murder is relative, but…
