There was only so much of her father's presence that Kesia could handle. After having him under paw (which took talent, since he was so much bigger then her) all day Kesia was ready to howl with annoyance. Really, if there was a more unfortunate hyena cub out there she pitied them.
She ran away from him hoping to find a spot to hide away. Bushes, tree, big rock, another bush, tall grass and yet another bus- Gah! She thought she heard her father coming after her and swiftly dove into the last bush she saw. Pity it was a prickly bush. She tried to stifle her whimper until Daddy went away. Wait, that wasn't Daddy...

Igola grumbled faintly as he slipped away from the cave where the males slept. If he had to listen to his father whine one more night he was going to put the older male out of Igola's misery! Shaking hard enough to make his ears flap, he huffed faintly before padding down the trail towards the water.
True 99% of the pack thought the young male was utterly insane for believing that the slave lioness Maynara was his mother, but nothing was further from the truth. Igola was quiet intelligent, he just liked to play dumb. He knew she was not the one that gave birth to him, but she was the one that had cared for him and loved him.
His ears perked forward as he heard a rustling up ahead, a frown crossing his muzzle. "Whose there?"
