User ImageGwembeshe was, at Chimola's behest, attempting something on his own. As a team, the ladies couldn't resist them, at least in theory. Something usually ended up going wrong. So Gwembeshe and Chimola had split up for a few days to try and refine their solo technique.

Gwembeshe's needed a lot of refining. He was not heavy enough to be a big lion, he was just tall and gangling. His fur always stuck up oddly, and without Chimola around he had no bro to give him a fur check. He was sure it looked horrid.

Still, it was do or die time. There was a pretty female right in front of him, and he needed to hit on her.

"Hey, there, miss. It's a lovely day, isn't it?"

Ok, so he was easing into it. He needed a few minutes of conversation to get his mojo going.

Mys'ketay had been wandering around for days, thinking about every encounter she had, had since she had left her father. Each had been a learning experiance for her as each had ended up giving her a new way of looking at life. She had known that males were tricky creatures that could not be trusted, however, she had also learned that some were not always as they appeared. Through her journey she had come to find that not all males were bad and that the ones that seemed innocent were usually not so innocent.

Mys'ketay sighed as she looked up and noticed a dark blue adolescent male in front of her. He had a perfect blend of blue and what appeared to be a white-ish blue all over his body. His looks certainly were interesting, but she couldn't help but wonder what type of male he would be. "Hello....." She replied as she looked sideways at the male. "It is quite lovely today. But.... What are you doing out here all by yourself?" Mys'ketay asked curiously.

"Oh, you know. Wandering. Seeing the land. Taking it all in, just me, against nature. Being manly," he added after a minute. Gheez a wiz this was hard without a wingman. Who was he supposed to look to for quick and funny repartee? He needed someone else around.

Ugh, this was going to end horribly.

"So, what brings you . . .here . . .all by yourself?"

That had to be the lamest excuse for an opening exchange in the history of bro-dom.

Mys'ketay stiffled the laughter she could feel building up in her chest from this male's lack of know how in flirting. She wasn't really afraid of him and didn't take him very seriously. However, she decided that this was just a young male trying to learn how the male to female exchange worked. So, going against what she would normally do Mys'ketay decided that she would allow him to flirt with her. However, she was just as inexperianced as he was in the flirting department due to her stance usually being against any attempts on flirting.

"Well I love manly men." She said with a smile, still trying to keep herself from laughing. Mys'ketay thought about her next answer for a moment before she replied. "Well, I am actually looking for someone." She answered, half telling the truth.

Yes! A chance to help a lady in peril! Or need. A chance to help a lady anyway. This is how things were supposed to go. He would totally impress her with his keen tracking skills (he was actually a pretty good tracker - comes from growing up with too many mouths and not enough hunters and having to supplement the diet with snakes and whatnot).

Gwembeshe puffed out his chest.

"Who are you looking for? I can probably help. My mom said that a gentleman would always help a lady in need."

Mys'ketay's eyes lit up as he said he would be willing to help her find the lion she was looking for. However, she wasn't sure if he could do it or if she really wanted to find them. "Well, I am actually looking for a small lion cub. I believe she will lead me to someone I have not seen for some time." Mys'ketay said, looking over the young male. "My name is Mys'ketay. What is your name?" She asked curiously, making sure to let him know that she wasn't sure she could trust him.

"I'm Gwembeshe. My mom named me for my legs." Well, he was a very tall lion, so "Bandy-legged One" was probably appropriate when he was born. Still, it was kind of like being named "Eyes are Shut," or "Falls Over." The way he was as a cub wasn't necessarily the way he wanted to be remembered for all time.

He doubted he'd ever grow into his legs though.

"Do you have anything that smells like her? Or a description or anything? When did you see her last? Cubs are tricky cause they can fit into small spaces and then it's a bugger getting them out. My brother stuck himself in a bird's nest once and I had to track him there with all these birds screeching about it."

The prospect of a task he could actually do gave Gwembeshe some confidence, it seemed.

Mys'ketay sighed and shook her head. "I do not have anything to lead you in her direction other then she has a white body with markings on her tail and rump." She said looking up at Gwembeshe. "I am sorry." Mys'ketay said shaking her head lightly. "You're legs are quite long." She said, smiling now. "But, why are you not with your brother or other family members?" Mys'ketay asked curiously. She certainly thought he was to young to be away from his family, but then again she had never been a mother so she could not judge when one was ready or not.

Although Gwembeshe could have very easily spilled out his life story, involved a mom with too many cubs and too many males hanging around to mate, no male role models, not enough attention, leaving home early, and meeting his bro, the only person he thought he could really ever count on. He could say how even finding his lost brother hadn't been good enough to get attention from his mom, who had been too busy flirting to notice one of her sons was missing. He could tell how one of his many sisters had been cubnapped by a male his mother spurned, and she never even tried to look for her.

He could, but he didn't, cause that wasn't how you impressed a lady. It was too much of a sob story, he needed to be impressive, off the cuff. Capable.

"I just thought I was ready to head out on my own, you know? I was tired of being babied."

"Ahh." She responded kindly. "Well, I have never known the feeling of being babied, although, I do understand what you mean." Mys'ketay said with a smile. "How have you been surviving thus far?" She asked, curious to know how one so young could be out and about in the world and still survive. "Are you heading somewhere?" Mys'ketay asked curious to know what his young one's plans were. Of course, that was her just wanting to make sure he was well cared for.

"It was rough at first, but now I've got my bro. Chimola and me are unbeatable." Gwembeshe was still acting wingman - talking his bro up, even when Chimola wasn't around. "We've got each other's backs. Except when we split up to go hunting. Maybe Chimola might know something about the little cub you're looking for? His pride had a lot of little cubs running around."

Not that Gwembeshe had paid much attention to the cubs. He had been more interested in the females that were almost all grown up. Lovely ladies indeed.

Not that this lioness would want to hear about them.
