Lesedi had been spending a good part of the morning gnawing on a bone that seemed too big for the young cub. Still, he took great pleasure in nibbling the ends and then parading it with his head held high around his siblings and cousins, bright green eyes clearly begging all of them to ask him for it just so we could refuse. One could see a grin slowly forming around the edges of the little lion’s mouth as he did his best to carry the bone, almost tripping on his own paws more than once so focused he was on teasing everyone around him.

Nazar had left the den for a while, he left Arrantixa with the cubs. She was watching her own cubs and her half brothers and sisters. Some were sleeping and some were still stirring. She perched herself in the front of the den flopping her tail around and making sure that everyone stayed in the rather large den. No one was going to get past her. She flicked her tail around looking over at the pile of cubs occasionally. She loved her family being able to have everyone together. Even with Dzi here everyone was pretty chill most of the time. Her father got mad occasionally and would go off but he would mostly do it outside of the den and do it at Dzi. They were off hunting now it was peaceful.
Imoo Jari was laid out next to his older sister. The older male was a little mature, a little past his years. Then again he was raised to be a killer. But he wasn't sure if he wanted to be the warrior his father disguised him to be. His father constantly told him that he was to be a strong warrior. But he didn't really know that he was going to kill his uncle. But for now when he wasn't training he was being as much of a cub as possible even though that included watching one of his nephews parade around with a bone. "Where did you get that from anyway?" He grumbled. It was pretty true that he was kind of jealous but his temper was also starting to act up. But he was trying his hardest to stay cool.
Arr however could see the temper starting to flare in the young cub and although she loved her younger half siblings she wanted to make sure that nothing was going to happen to her cubs. She gave her brother a nudge. "Play nice." She laughed lightly before sitting back some flicking her tail around. Imoo huffed at the nudge before turning to the other cub and sitting up. "Wanna wrestle?" He asked with a smirk dropping his front paws to the ground and his rump in the air. "Don't wake the others." The older lioness reminded once more. The smaller cub huffed before dropping back down on his belly. "What are we going to do then?"

Lesedi grinned at the older cub. He could tell his uncle – he laughed at the family connection between the two cubs – was interested in his bone and that made it all the more precious. He shot Arr a wide smile (mom had his back, he thought with a hint of smugness) before looking back at Imoo. He was a little bigger and – though Lesedi wouldn’t admit it anytime soon – probably a lot stronger.
Lying down, he released the bone between his front paws. He wasn’t interested in a tug-of-war that would cause him to lose his little treasure. “What are we going to do…” he said in a singsong tone looking at just about every direction except down, clearly teasing the black and white cub. There was some visible tension in his little body as if the cub was ready to grab the bone at the slightest hint of trouble.

Imoo watched the other cub in annoyance he was angry that the cub was saying the same thing that he was saying. Why did he have to do it? She was here first she didn't really understand at all. He huffed and sat not that far away form his older sister with another huff. "I don't know you don't want to share." He grumbled quietly he liked it better when his dad was watching he felt like things were more fair. Then again he also didn't like it when things didn't go his way that was for sure.
The cub paused for a moment and before he could speak again his older sister did. "Now, now." She chuckled quietly she had a lot of patience when it came to these guys she knew that she had to be patient so she always tried her hardest. "Would you two like to hear a story? Maybe you guys can act it out for me?" Arran offered with a happy smile still on her face. she was hoping this was something that sounded good and fun for the lions to enjoy. "That doesn't sound that bad."

Ah, now this was a dilemma. His mother’s suggestion sounded pretty good but Lesedi was still a little reluctant to get his precious bone out of sight. He had to make a decision quickly and, being a greedy little cub, Lesedi wanted to have both. Obviously.
“Alright. Just a sec, mom.” He decided to drag the bone towards his sister I’tidal who was still fast asleep and carefully lifted one of her paws to rest over his treasure. He was sure the bone would be safe this way and he could always come back and claim it later. The cub flinched when his sister stirred and glanced at his mother with a quick apologetic look before it turned to one of relief. I’tidal didn’t wake and his bone was safe. After one (very) long sigh, the cub ran back towards his mother. “Ready!”

Arr chuckled as she saw the male run off and hide the bone. she was pretty amused, she thought the gesture was cute, he had a good sense of what he loved and what he wanted to keep for himself. She was really proud of that. She was proud of all of her cubs but seeing things like that made her more and more proud. She flicked her hair out of her eyes before looking at her brother. The little male was not as amused by the gesture of the other cub. He had to hide it as if Imoo was going to come out of no where while they were telling the story and he was going to steal it.
Arr nudged the cub to stand next to Lesedi. Before leaning back and smiling at the two. "Once there were two great warriors." She started and then motioned her paw toward Lesedi. "One was called red." She then paused and motioned her paw toward Imoo. "And the other was called blue." She smiled before sitting up a little more. Imoo was supposed to be a great warrior! This was really exciting to him. He puffed out his chest proudly as if he was the warrior at the moment. Arr chuckled before speaking once again. "These two warriors were the strongest of all of a pride, however they didn't get along that well." She said simply shaking her head at the idea.
Imoo turned toward the male and stuck his tongue out. But then toward toward Arr once again.

Red and Blue?
“Were their manes red and blue?” Lesedi asked excitedly glancing at his uncle just in time to catch him sticking his tongue out. Grinning mischievously, the cub leaned back and swatted playfully at the air with his front paws, pretending to be a fierce warrior who very much disliked this cheeky Blue.
This was fun. He didn’t usually play make believe and the story seemed very interesting so far. He couldn’t wait to know what was going to happen next so he sta back down and watched his mother eagerly.

Arr looked at the cub then chuckled and nodded at him. "Yes, yes. They were red and blue." She smiled brightly. It was pretty true, she looked at the two cubs they were both two that she loved a lot and at times it was annoying to watch them not get along at times. She was very happy to see them starting to get into the story. She was glad that it seemed like they were enjoying it. She wished that at times she got to spend time with her mother more often. She never got stories like this. She didn't get to spend much time with her mother. And her father on the other hand didn't like to tell these kind of stories. He tried hard but he never really got that far.
"Wow. Like ours!' Imoo realized then that he wasn't being part of the story. He turned back toward his sister then smiled brightly at her. He wanted to know what was going to come next.
"One day a big lion came and attacked the pride," Arr stated in a serious tone as she looked at the two. "At first, you see Red thought that he would try to take on the lion before Blue woke up to beat the lion before him." She stated to her before shaking her head. "However even though Red was a mighty and strong lion, by himself he couldn't do it. He got injured and before things got worse he came back to the pride." She then turned toward blue once again and chuckled some. "When blue heard of this he was excited to give it a try. He moved quickly to the borders to meet the male and try his hardest to beat him too however Blue failed too" She looked at Imoo as he looked a little confused of how to act it out however he ran toward the back of the den before coming back as if he was coming back home. "No one in the pride knew what to do!"

Lesedi – also known as Red at the moment – smirked confidently at the “sleeping” Blue and pretended to be fighting something on his own. The cub was clearly getting happily lost in his sister’s story and he looked truly devastated when he failed to defeat his imaginary opponent. He returned to his spot with his head lowered and a mighty frown only to smirk once again as the silly Blue also failed to defeat the fierce lion.
“So what did they do?” he asked quietly, tilting his head to side – even though the cub silently thought that he might know where this story was going.

Arr looked at the cubs and then shook his head. "Well at first the king of the pride called everyone to a meeting." She spoke with a sad sound in her voice. "Everyone was afraid for the pride, and they were thinking about leaving, they were close to being chased away!" She motioned toward the cubs. "Even Red and Blue seemed a little upset as they sat on the sides of the king."
Imoo was slightly annoyed again. How could they be such great warriors but lose! He didn't understand he thought it was stupid and he couldn't believe that they could be compared to them. Imoo felt that he was going to be the best warrior ever he didn't see why he thought that he was going lose in a game like this. He flicked his hair out of his eyes and then looked down at his paws as if he was sad.
Arr looked at them before speaking once again. "However on the other hand while everyone was about to get up and start to walk away a old and wise lion walked down the middle of the lions, shaking his head as he did. He looked to the two young warriors before speaking. She sat up some and talked in a more serious voice. "He told the two about how he couldn't believe that the males were fighting like this. He didn't understand why the two couldn't work together! The two younger warriors looked appalled! How could he suggest something like that? Everyone knew that the two didn't get along!"
Imoo made a face at the sound of what the imaginary others were saying. He couldn't get along with the other lion! He was stupid anyway! He huffed some shaking his head as he did before speaking up. He looked up at Arr really curious of what was going to happen next.
"So they were sent off into the forest together to fight the larger lion. They squabbled on their way fighting and arguing with each other. And soon enough before they knew it they were hiding in bushes planning how to make the attack on the male who was not that far away

Lesedi frowned as the story developed, gradually leaning forward as the intensity of the warriors’ tale increased. Gah! He really didn’t like the idea of Red and Blue having to work together. He simulated a little bickering but quickly turned to face his mother again.
“Weren’t they hurt already? Did they fight a lot on the way?” his mouth clamped shut as he realized his whispers were interrupting the story but pretty soon he couldn’t contain himself anymore and he spoke again, this time hesitantly. “So they fought the strong lion together? Isn’t that… hum, a little like… cheating?” His eyes were wide, his expression curious, his small body tense. Anyone could tell that the cub could barely wait to reach the ending of the story.

Imoo, too, pretended to bicker with his nephew. But he was enjoying the story a lot. He looked up at his older sister as she paused. He just wanted her to continue the story. She really wanted to. She paused for a moment before nodding to the cubs. "In a way they did really." She thought before chuckling again. "You see, they would from time to time but a good amount of the time they were quiet until they got there." She paused once again before flicking his hair out of his eyes. "Don't jump ahead in the story!" She warned with a small chuckle before she heard the chirp of her brother. "Then what happened?! He asked excited he was so curious of what was going on.
She smiled and then motioned toward them. "Now, when the two first saw him they bickered about what was going to happen, who was going to attack and who was going to distract, neither of them wanted to give up the fame of chasing him away!" He nodded at the idea before speaking once again. "However it wasn't long before they realize that they needed to drop how they felt toward each other and get along for a little while to chase them away from the pride.". She smiled proud of her story that was until she heard the questions from her son. And also from her brother.
"But it's not ince to team up on some one like that." The younger lion stated, he was a little confused he knew that his father had told him before that it wasn't right to team up on another lion. He was no longer acting it out more interested in the story.
"You see while it isn't nice to team up on some one like that you can't forget, they just chased him out. Not only that, she mentioned looking at both of them with a smile on her face, "They got along long enough to protect and make their families happy." She smiled brightly at them once again.

Lesedi remained quiet for a good while, pondering on the ending. The two warriors had won but not alone. And Lesedi liked doing things on his own so it took a few moments for the cub to process the story in its entirety.
“So… sometimes it’s okay to play a little dirty?” his green eyes rose to his mother very slowly and something clicked on the back of his mind. He looked towards his sleeping siblings who were peacefully resting not too far from them and then continued in a tentative tone. “When it’s about something important… like family… anything goes?”
Sure, he knew that wasn’t the moral of the story but right now he was far more focused in understanding the exception to the “fair fight” rule.
“I guess I’d work with Imoo if I had to. If I really, really had to.” He grinned at his uncle mischievously before looking back at his siblings. “I think they’re starting to wake up. I’ll tell them they missed an awesome story.” But he didn’t move from his spot, almost as if the cub was waiting on his mother’s last words of wisdom or her permission to leave.

Arr looked at the male and then shook her head before leaning toward the male and nudging him. "That is not playing dirty. Some times you need help. They really didn't fight him however they did chase him away from the pride." She paused thinking about it. She knew that her father raised her to dow hat was right. "They wanted to protect the pride and they wanted to make sure that no one else was going to get hurt, they did what was right. She chuckled some, she really just wanted to give them the idea that for their family it was a good thing to get along when they could.
She paused before then chuckling nudging both of them once again. Imoo turned toward the others, he wanted to get his nephew's bone, or try to get one of the others to wrestle with him. One of them had to be willing. He paused biting his lip before turning toward his sister and looking "gonna play sister." He started truning toward the other cub then back toward the others and standing up and trotting toward them, he really did want to play. Arr paused as she looked a her son and smiled at him nudging once again before flicking his hair out of his eyes. "Go play little one until before grandpa comes home with dinner." She started sitting back comfortable waiting for him to go and keep playing.

Lesedi nodded as her mother spoke but grew anxious when his uncle looked around and started moving – was he after his bone?!
“Okay, mom.” Happy to have been excused, the young cub sprinted off towards the most obvious location: I’tidal. He tried to maneuver the bone from under his sister but unfortunately she had rolled in her sleep and now most of her body was covering Lesedi’s treasure. The cub huffed, staring into her eyes as if to make sure she truly was sleeping before lying down next to his sister with a huge frown betraying the annoyance within. Sighing, Lesedi leaned against his sister and closed his eyes as he waited for her to wake up and pretty soon he was sleeping as well, dreaming of mighty warriors and terrible foes. - Fin -
