 Having grown up to his teen years, Calder was spending more and more time away from his little pygmy guardian Cherish. He was still upset that he couldn't speak but was learning to cope with it. He already was becoming good at using gestures to tell Cherish what he wanted or was trying to tell her. Of course those gestures might not be understood by others. But the main reason he was staying away from Cherish was because she talked enough for the both of them. She couldn't seem to stop talking once she realized he would never speak. It drove him nuts that she wouldn't stop when all he wanted was peace and quiet.
So here he was sneaking away from her again, as she blabbled on and on about the benefits of winter and how she wished it were back. It was easy to get away, he was naturally quiet cause he couldn't speak and he had learned how to make even his body be quiet so he could sneak away. He was glad it was spring, almost summer, because the flower bushes were still in bloom. Which reminded him of the time he was a baby and had met a little Cattaur girl. He smiled as he thought of her and unconciously began looking for the flower bush where they had met.

While Glorianna adored her family and loved spending time with them, she did still like to get time to herself once in a while. The sun was out and the birds were singing and the open air was calling to her. While her family was shopping in the market, she excused herself and wandered off on her own.
The cheerful day making her mood the same, she leapt through the long grass chasing grasshoppers and ladybugs. When she tired of that, she started picking flowers to make a boquet to take home. Some of these flowers weren't around her house.. maybe her mother would like to plant some? Every so often, she would pause and tie one into her hair, adding to the assortment that was already there.
When she spotted a field of flowering bushes through the trees, a small smile graced her features. She couldn't put her finger on why it made her happy, but she made her way toward it anyway, pausing here and there to smell the flowers she passed.

As Calder began taking more and more notice of the flowering bushes he began to wonder why he was even looking at them. It soon dawned on him that he had met his first friend at a flowering bush and that was probably why he was looking at them so much. He was searching for the one they had met at. He shrugged to himself as he continued to look. It couldn't hurt to go back there.
So he continued on, only stopping to get a drink from a water bag he had with him. He noticed the colors of the bushes but none were the white and red flowers. He was starting to give up when he caught a flash of white. He quickly ran to the bush and pumped his fist in victory. He had found the spot! Course now he had no idea what to do now that he had found it.

Reaching the field, she sat down to sniff at the small flowers. They were so pretty, and smelled nice. They picked at something in the back of her mind. Something blue... She shrugged and started picking a few, putting them into her collection.
Perking her ears, she looked up at the sound of quick but light steps not too far away. She ducked cautiously, peeking over the top of the grass at whoever was there. A rather familiar looking blue cattaur... acting silly. She giggled to herself before squinting her eyes in thought. She knew him... Didn't she. Suddenly, it dawned on her. Gasping in delight, she jumped up and waved an arm. "Hi! You!" She called excitedly.

He was lowering his fist, already pondering what to do now, when he heard someone call out to him. He jumped a little and looked around. He quickly spotted another Cattaur and looked at her confused. She seemed familiar, especially with that red hair and the flowers in the hair. He waved back not wanting to be impolite but still he didn't recognize her.
He took a few steps towards, wondering why she seemed familiar. He looked back at the bush he had been at and it dawned on him. She was the female Cattaur he had met here when he was a baby! He smiled brightly and waved more vigorously at her. He was happy to see her and to hear her voice.

Clasping her hands in front of her, she waited a moment to see if he would recognize her as well, seeing the same confusion she had been feeling moments ago. Grinning when she saw the light turn on in his head, she crossed the rest of the distance and simply smiled up at him. "I remember you." She said, looking around the field that they stood in. She couldn't remember what they had done, but she remembered that day had been fun. "It's good to see you're well..." She started, watching him with a friendly but curious smile. Could he still not speak?

Calder stood still as she came towards him. He smiled down at her, a little shocked to see he was taller than her. He didn't remember being bigger than her.... but than again they had met when they were babies. He nodded at what she said and pointed to his eye and then at her. He was glad to see her well. He was starting to wonder how he was going to introduce himself. He'd probably have to write his name in the dirt like Cherish had done before.

Head tipping to the side, she reached her hand out and touched his throat. "Can you still not talk?" She asked, letting her hand return to her side. It didn't seem to be anything she could help with... Quickly, she gave him an encouraging smile. They had communicated just fine before, and neither of them had used actual words! "Well, for the sake of knowing... my name's Glorianna."

Calder held still when she touched his throat. He nodded at her question, yes he could not talk still. He returned her encouraging smile with a little sad one. Hearing her name, the smile brighten. It was a very pretty name and seemed to suit her. He looked down at the dirt and then back to her. He crouched down and began writing his name. 'I am called Calder' he wrote. He then stood up and pointed to his message.

She tipped over at her waist to watch him write, reading the carefully crafted words. "Calder? That's lovely." She said sweetly, straightening back up and smiling at him. Her little smile turned bashful. "Um... I hope I'm not imposing... but do you know why you can't talk?"

Calder nodded with a smile. He liked his name too. His smile faded and he shook his head. No he had no clue as to why he couldn't talk. He then realized that his no could be taken as he thought she was imposing. He smiled at her quickly and then wrote in the dirt 'not imposing'.
((of course I finally reply and they're all grown. XP and sorry for the short reply))

She gave him a sympathetic smile, ears perking as he started writing again. She giggled and shook her head. "I didn't think you meant it that way." Well, no point in pressing the issue if there was nothing to be done about it. Tail twitching slightly, she looked around for anyone who might be with Calder. "Are you hungry? ...I could use a bite."

Calder's shoulders relaxed as he let out a breath. He was glad that she didn't take it that way. Hearing her question he nodded his head. He could use something to eat. He pointed to the woods, having grown up there and never been to town. He was thinking where he could find some fresh fruit that grew there.

Looking where he pointed, taking a moment to figure out what he was indicating. "Is there food in there?" She asked. The woods meant fruits and things, right? "Lead the way!" She said, walking closer to the blue cattaur.

Calder smiled and nodded. There were some good food in the woods. He began walking in the direction he had pointed in. His tail swished back and forth, a clear indicator of how happy he was. It was quite a walk just to get to the woods and once there he had pause for a moment. He needed a moment to remember which way to go to get to the fruit trees he wanted.
