Belski finally let us in on what the theme of the show was most likely going to be. And that is a Latin theme surprised He showed us some clips of Madison Scouts 1995, 1988, Blue Devils 1998. I was all like "...next year is going to be legit...if our band can pull it off." I think we could, if everyone actually practiced. Oh yeah, I said the p word. What now bitches?
Talk about: Next years show theme Show themes you think would be cool to do

I love the music from Gladiator! ;w; We did Phantom of the Opera for our concert show. It was all movie themes and broadway musicals and whatnot. We almost did Pirates, but we ran out of time to work on it, and it sounded bad...or so I was told. I was only there to rehearse the song once, the rest I was absent due to illness...or because I'm having an emo day -______-" We were talking about how cool it would be to do an Inception show, or the Lion King (lol, like jello had suggested for us to do.) Hans Zimmer, ftw.

LION KIIIIIIIIIIIIIING. That is seriously my dream show. I've thought all about it (as have a lot of people from my school.) I have it all planned out.
Circle of Life - Opener Little Solo in Circle of Life - Ballad Just Can't Wait to be King - Opener Be Prepared - Possibly pull some parts from it for Opener/Closer/Any Transitions To Die For (the stampede) - Closer. FTW. I get goosebumps. Can You Feel the Love Tonight? - Ballad (The song at the end that I can't remember the name of after they defeat Scar) - Ballad/Wrap up the ending.
Not sure off of the top of my head what the drum solo section will be like, but we have genius drum-part writers, so we'll be fine.
I don't know how our band director isn't convinced.
We've (the student body) also thought of an Apocalypse theme. We think it'd work perfectly. It'll be 2012 next year. It'll be our (my) senior year. Also, we used EWI's (Electronic Woodwind Instruments) last year, which were awesome when they worked... And anyway, they had all of these neat-o sounds like 'Jurassic' and 'Apocalypse' and various other things that would be perfect. The guard would love the props we could use.... Yes.
But alas, our new, young, fresh, hip band director doesn't want to do any of that. He doesn't want to do a story this year (even though that's what we've done EVERY YEAR SINCE FOREVER....). No. He wants to do a theme that "makes you remember things." WHAT EVEN IS THAT. No one's going to understand. They're all gonna be like WHAT EVEN IS THAT and we're gonna be like "hey we hope this makes you remember some stuff or something." Yea.
Although, we will most likely use To Die For for the closer.... But still. I'm not impressed.
Oh my god. An Inception show would be like...... I couldn't handle it. lolol

Our show is going to be western themed. At first I was really disappointed by it but it turns out it starts with a horn soli (Yay!!! I'd prefer solo because our horn section kind of isn't the best as a collective group...) and it's being commissioned for us heart Evidently there's a flute solo in it as well which is STUPID of us to have. We had a woodwind quartet my freshman year and a flute solo this year and our mics somehow didn't get plugged in by our pit at BOA so you couldn't hear it. Andd our drill had us facing backfield for the start of the closer without a backfield drum major so we (the WHOLE BAND.) couldn't hear the command at BOA and missed the entrance. //rant.
I think my dream show at this moment would be a Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides theme (and yes, Hans Zimmer FTW. 'Time' from Inception is one of my favorites). I'm not really sure what for the opener but "Mermaids" (Hans Zimmer and Eric Whitacre. I love Eric Whitacre) for the ballad (although I don't know how it'd sound when it's not choral...) and Blackbeard for the closer. Blackbeard is pretty much the most badass piece of modern music I've heard.
