Here the grass is lush and green and the whole of the grounds are enclosed in a wrought iron fence. Stepping stones pave the way to the manor and a very large pond lies behind. At the edge of the property lies a large area for stables and at the other end a gazebo. Monsters also wander the grounds, here. Most of them are kept in the stables, but Matasoga's most rare and valuable monsters are free to roam the grounds. They are trained to stay off of the path to the manor and generally leave the Disciples alone, unless approached or threatened, but most are at least relatively friendly and sociable. Harmony (Melodee) This Melodee's hoop is black and has nails driven through it, pointing outward. It seems to ignore people and other moga's completely and often just stares into empty space. Harmony only seems to acknowledge the presence of Illbis. Miles (Peafyx) This clever fox spends much of his time observing humans (and other humanoid disciples) and trying to outwit his peers. When he is not engaged in games of mental play, he preens his plummage. One eye is tawny but the other is blue. Miles likes to collect shiny objects that he uses as bets in games of chance with Illbis. Roger (Crabone) The smell of decay is typically not far from this moga, though he spends most of his time at the waters edge or in the water. The eye-spots in it's sockets match the hue of the sapphire in it's skull which it seems to actively see to the shine of. A small rag is often carried in it's weaker claw to see to it's shine. Illbis (Jor) Illbis enjoys games of dice. He has a set of dice carved from bones (of an unknown sort) and he loves to entice others in games with them, be they moga or disciples. He constantly patrols the grounds looking for any dropped coins that he can wager. He is often seen playing with Miles, who habitually collected shiny things. He has been known to attempt to entice Yara in attempt to win some of her found jewelry, but she finds him terrifying. Sometimes he flies over to the stable to play with Smaug for the more valuable bits of his hoarde. A thick, black-leather sash crosses his chest and on it is a small leather pouch. Inside of it are his carved bone dice and his winnings from the games that he plays with them. He has a russet strike across the front of his skull and one side is almost imperceptibly greyer than the other. His wings have two prongs, rather than one on the end so that he can manipulate objects, but he can only roll dice by placing them into his mouth and shaking them. When he does, the sound of bone-on-bone when they strike the inside of his hollow skull is found by many to be unnerving, which he uses to his advantage. When he flies, it is low to the ground and his movements are smooth and sometimes rather ghostly. Mordred (Knightaur) Mordred is a very skilled archer, but slightly less so than Mordred II. Both know this and there is a strong rivalry between the two. In a distant corner, there is a standing wall of stone, where several targets Mordred himself has crafted. He spends long hours practicing archery in an attempt to surpass Mordred. His helmet is edged with bronze insets and the crimson markings on his body have a slight metalic sheen of bronze as well. Mordred II (Knightaur) A large red “II” adorns the visor of this moga, but he knows that it is no mark of inferiority. He was caught because of his superiority to Mordred, and he knows this, as well. He entertains the rivalry to keep his skills sharp. He well knows that should he find his skills wanting, there may soon be a Mordred III walking the grounds while he himself put to pasture. The plume on his helmet is a deeper crimson than Mordred’s and his muscles more defined. His visor is crafted of 30% adamantine. Champ (Chamepo) Champ is easily the smallest of the water moga, but among the quickest as well. Whenever he sees a Disciple approaching the water he always swims to the side, eager to garner their attention and affection. He is a nimble swimmer and is not above doing tricks to impress the Disciples to earn such affection. He can be out of water indefinitely, but he finds it hard to move on land. His eyes are electric blue. Nathan (Hammerdog) Nathan is exceptionally easygoing and rather happy-go-lucky. He is most often found swimming in the pond. The star on his back is slightly more yellow than most hammerdogs and one crooked tooth is visible, coming from his lower jaw, even when his mouth is closed. Crush (Gnarwhale) Crush is much like an ariel version of Nathan. His body is filled with strange bladders that seem capable of producing lighter-than-air gases that allow him to fly by flapping his wings. His enourmous and ungainly bulk can often be seen riding the thermals and circling in place, casting his odd shadow on the ground, below. His outer feathers are a deeper wine color than usual, and his markings on top are paler than average. Maximillian (Faust) This slightly arrogant moga counts himself as being above the other "lesser" moga who aren't capable of flight. He also counts himself above those who can fly, for various reasons. Namely he considers Crush to be graceless and Illbis to be unclean. The only one he sees as his equal is Smaug, who he has taken under his wing (in the figurative sense) and attempts to teach lessons on keeping a dignified and regal bearing, at all times, sculpting him into what he believes to be the very epitome of draconic perfection. Since he was sent to the stables, he has taken to carrying news of all goings on in the courtyard to him. (More are being nnoved to the Field Gvide.)

Saber exits the guildhouse, kicks her shoes out of the way just outside the door and walks across the yard, digging her toes into the grass and looking around herself curiously. She finds the monsters fascinating and wanders the grounds watching them play, occasionally taking a bite from the apple she had brought with her.
While exploring she gradually notices a bundle of gold fur watching her from near the fence. She slowly walks over to the chuuchilla and crouches down to be more on his level and holds her hand out, letting him sniff her before she gently strokes the top of his head, marveling at the softness of his fur.
After spending a few minutes petting the chuuchilla she hears a bell and looks up to see a staryak grazing nearby. Giving the chuuchilla one last pat and telling him goodbye for the moment she gets up and heads over to the yak. Holding what's left of her apple out on the palm of her hand, the large monster takes it from her. While he slowly chews it she sinks her face into the shaggy fur on his head and reaches up to scratche the area at the base of each horn.

Kenny padded softly after her, his freshly dusted fur shaking bits of dust off, intermittently as he followed a few human paces behind. While he was slightly skittish, sometimes around other moga, there was something very non-threatening about the staryak who was mellow, in the extreme. Kenny's instincts almost recognized him as moga and stationary object in nearly equal measure. Beneath the shag of his bangs, Alot turned his eyes to Saber, took the apple in his mouth, chewed three times and swallowed it all. He gave no other sign of noticing her, though he did randomly snort a few seconds later to drive off a fly from his cavernous nostrils. Matasoga slowly approached, an amused look on his face as he watched the moga near and far all frolicking about. He turned his tawny eyes to Saber, a happy smirk still on his face as he asked "Are you enjoying the creatures?"

Saber jumped ever so slightly when she suddenly heard Matasoga behind her and turned to face him, smiling up at him shyly, "Oh yes! They're wonderful. I especially like this one," she said reaching up to give the yak another scratch. "There was a little gold one over there too," she continued, starting to point towards the fence but catching sight of the chuuchilla nearby, "Oh look, he's right here, he must have followed you over. What are their names?" she added, smiling happily up at Matasoga again and absentmindedly rubbing a spot on her cheek.

Matasoga watched her rub pumice dust (presumably from Kenny's fur) onto her cheek and debated inwardly whether or not he should say anything. He quickly decided that she'd probably be happier if he brushed it off later. "They're my new security system, conversation starters, pieces of visual interest, pets, companions, and friends," he said. He put his hands on his knees, leaning down and said, "This little guy" as he bounded towards him "Is Kenny." He presented his palms, but instead of jumping into them and settling, Kenny leapt into and out of them in what seemed like a single motion, like a furry little pinball, coming to rest on his shoulder. With his tiny little front paws and long back paws, Kenny tightly gripped the fabric of his cape's shoulder. Matasoga slapped the haunch of his staryak and said "And this guy is Alot." He didn't seem to register the gesture. His chewing went on uninterrupted and with his dense, shaggy fur and thick skin indeed he may not have noticed. "I'm thinking of having some signs made with their silhouetted images next to their names. In the meantime though..." He pointed and one by one introduced all of the moga in sight.

Giggles at Kenny's antics and goes back to patting Alot while she listens to Matasoga, "That sounds like a really neat idea, then people would know which was which and what to call them. Where would you put the signs? Along the walkway? Or the fence maybe?" she asked. Saber shyly reached for Matasoga's hand and stood with him watching the monsters around the grounds, sometimes reaching up to pet Kenny, sometimes petting Alot while she waited for his answer.

"I'm not sure, but I was thinking..." he began, before naming several places. He helped Kenny down from his shoulder and started walking Saber to the door of the manor. It was, after all, beginning to get late.

She listened intently commenting here and there as Matasoga listed off places while she walked with him towards the door, stopping for a moment to collect her shoes before accompanying him inside.

Leaving her shoes out of the way just inside the door, Saber slips outside and nearly skips over to Alot pulling a sugar cube out of her pocket as she goes. Holding it out to him on the palm of her hand she can be heard faintly murmuring something. Walking around to the side of the yak, she clumsily climbes up onto his back and takes a small bottle out of her pocket before stretching out on her stomach with her feet in the air. Unscrewing the lid of the bottle she begins painting neat, black stripes on Alot's horns, being careful not to drip any polish on his fur. The occasional giggle can be heard as she quickly finishes one horn and starts on the other.

Matasoga walks out on to the lawn, takes a deep breathe, and sighs before walking along the stones, without needing to so much as glance downward, however winding, so many times he has walked that path. He only got a few steps before he saw something that gave him pause. Lying upon his staryak was none other than saber, who he noticed was sporting an impish smile and black nail polish. See seemed to be painting the horns of his Alot, with it, in a striped pattern as if to match her own. He walked closer, said nothing, and just watched. His eyes asked the question "What exactly is it that you're doing?" and his mouth simply sported a bemused smirk.

Unaware that she's being watched, Saber begins humming to herself as she finishes painting the second horn. Pleased with how even her stripes had turned out she recaps her bottle of polish and gives Alot a good scratch between his horns before stretching and looking up. Seeing Matasoga, she hides the bottle behind her back while sitting up suddenly, her eyes go wide as she looses her balance and starts to slip off of Alot's back.

Matasoga's smile doesn't fade (it broadens, if anything) and he slightly lowers his head, shaking it. He approaches and says "Just don't spill any, whatever you do," as he extends his hand to help her up. "There's nothing to be done for that except to cut it out of his fur, if any drips or spills."

Still hiding the bottle behind her back she stammers, "What? But I-I didn't, I just uh...climbed up for a closer look...besides I already put the cap back on. Oh!" She looks up at him with a sheepish look on her face and takes his hand.

Haruka strolled out of the house. She had left her jacket and hat inside, as it was far too hot for such items. She smiled at the creatures she passed and made her way to the stables."Afternoon Master," she curtsied,"Hi Miss Saber!"

He pulled her to her feet, dismissing the attempt to lie, as it was too inept to be taken any more seriously. "Hello, little Haruka," he said as he turned to her. Feel free to play with any of the animals that you like. As he watched, Sergius came out with a sign and hammered the post into the ground, before approaching Matasoga and telling him that the sign was finished. "Very good," he said, and dismissed him. To the girls he said, "All of the mogas' names are listed there, if you want to call them, or refer to them by name."
