"You are going into that pool right now, I cannot be seen with a fluff as dirty as you!" Dusty nudged saltjuice, his foxbun, towards the water. With his reputation at stake, he cannot possibly be seen with anything as gunky as his foxbun currently was. The only reason Dusty hasn't punted the little ball of fur into the water yet is because he doesn't want to risk being seen getting angry. "I must act composed at all times!" he thought to himself, though it was difficult. The little ball of fluff was damn recalcitrant. "Come on!" Dusty whispered harshly. Saltjuice giggled at his owner's efforts. He didn't understand why he should be clean, only that his owner wanted him to be clean, and refusing to be so made Dusty have funny reactions. Saltjuice knew exactly what to do at this point. He pressed his muddy little face onto Dusty's ankle and rolled it around, causing Dusty to skitter into the pond himself and rinse the mud off. When Dusty began to splash water at Saltjuice, Salt tried to dodge all the water droplets, but could not. A few specks of teal and purple emerged from the mud.

Dawnrunner was walking casually on the dry spots of land she could find. Her eyes were set on the floor, hoping to not get too muddy. It was always such a bother having to get all the grime and mud off after a long day of traversing the swamp. But the doe couldn't just sit pretty all day, could she? She needed to get out -daily- for exercise. It wasn't easy keeping a trim figure..
Humming softly to herself, she heard a splash and with an audible "Hm?" she looked up from her path. In that moment of distraction, she slipped off the log she was using to step over a particularly muddy spot and fell into a deep pool of watery sludge. Groaning loudly, she pulled herself back onto the log.
Remembering the splash, she figured water was there..right? Clean water, she hoped, as she walked towards it.
When she got there, dripping with mud however, she spotted another kimeti already there. Well...that would make sense...what else could have caused that splash earlier....she thought, an image of a large crocodile flashing across her mind.. Shuddering, she continued on towards the stream, until she got to the water's edge and spotted the muddy little foxbun.
"Oh. My. Goodness. How adorableee~!" she squealed, forgetting her own filth to kneel down and look at the small fluffy creature. "He's..kinda dirty though, doncha think?"

Smiling triumphantly, Dusty continued to flick water at his filthy little foxbun without much avail, "Why can't you just save me all this trouble and just take a bath already?" He was just about to lose it and dunk the stubborn furball into the water until he heard hoofsteps. It was a lovely doe with shimmering blond hair and a feather that perfectly complemented her coat. Never allowing anyone to outshine him, Dusty straightened up. He had run-in's with kimeti with beautiful hair and hair-decorations before, he could deal with this. She was even muddy, "I don't need to feel threatened of being beaten for looks and cleanliness!" he smirked to himself. But he despaired when he saw that the doe had her focus on a very gunky saltjuice.
Saltjuice hopped and gave her the most heart-melting smile he could. "If she can be muddy, so can I!" saltjuice thought to himself. He reached up and clung onto her muzzle and buried his face into her hair.
Dusty sighed and shook his head, "Not every creature enjoys looking his very best I guess," he looked disdainfully at saltjuice, "Especially this one, he avoids the water, even shallow pools, as if it would eat him up," Dusty said while keeping his nose up. It took all his willpower not to narrow his eyes at saltjuice when he turned his head back to shoot him a teasing look.

Dawnrunner tried her hardest not to cringe as the foxbun muddied her precious golden locks. Not that she could stay mad at the adorable little thing.
Forcing a giggle, she said, "Oh how..cute!" to the foxbun before looking up at the buck. For the first time, she took a good hard look at him. She admired how pristine he was and those markings on his coat! Oh who was she kidding, that buck was gorgeous!
"Is he afraid of the water?" she asked the buck. "Maybe~" she pondered, turning to the foxbun. "Say, how about taking a bath with me?" in a cheerful voice, hoping to encourage the little creature. Maybe if she acted cute enough the foxbun would like her and agree?

Dusty didn't know if the doe was admiring him, or if saltjuice had managed to get any splatters of mud on him. He hoped it wasn't the latter. He chuckled, "You think he's cute even after he smeared mud through your hair. It's almost admirable," Dusty could only imagine how he would react if the foxbun muddied his face. He shuddered, a coat like his should not be covered in grime at any moment in time, "Only the clear kind that can clean him..."
Bath. It was a word saltjuice despised. It meant removing the nice, cool, sticky mud on his fur and replacing it with bare nothingness. He looked up at the doe and wibbled. But the doe was muddy as well, saltjuice observed, was she an ally or a foe?
Shaking his head, Dusty sniffed, "If I've been trying to get the little foxbun to take a bath for a good chunk of the day, he's not going to give in too easily to you either," He secretly hoped that he was wrong, and that saltjuice would finally take a bath. But in Dusty's mind, if saltjuice wouldn't listen to a beautiful buck like him, he wouldn't listen to anyone. Stepping out of the shallow pool, he quietly smirked at the mess saltjuice made in the doe's hair. He wondered how long it would take to clean and dry.

Reminded of the mud in her hair, Dawnrunner actually shuddered slightly. Later...later...she'd clean it later...
And yet the whimpering Foxbun made her tense muscles relax. He was just toooo cute!
"But wouldn't playing in the water be fun? Sure, rolling in the mud all day has its perks. It's great for your skin and to keep cool on a hot day! But it's also nice to wash it all off! It leaves your skin feeling fresh instead of grimy. You'll have so much energy to play other games afterwards! And bathtime isn't scary, or boring, you can play games in there too!" she said, hoping to convince the muddy mass of fur to join her. She was eager to take her own bath.

Dusty was very skeptical. But for the first time in a long time he refrained from commenting.
Hmm, the argument was convincing. He could play games in the water, or execute his even better plan. Yes, it was definitely going to be his better plan. Saltjuice leaped off of the doe's muzzle and tackled a very bewildered Dusty into the pond, making a huge splash.
"You little bugg--" Dusty rose from the pond with his fur matted against his sides, "Do you know how long it takes for this fur to dry?" Dusty looks back at the designs on his back and finds them droopy and sad-looking, "Well," he sighed, "at least you're clean..." Dusty scrubbed the pesky foxbun with his hoof. He paused awhile and clears his throat, "Thank you." He shook his head to dry it, and ended up with something that resembled a large fluffy caterpillar.
