 - BleeMix2 a 72 minute mix that kirby produced. his notes below: "This is an attempt at a sort of avalanches-style 72-minute mix of a bunch of Sporkii's and my favorite songs. And while it may be loaded with all sorts of references to inside jokes, at it's heart it's a bunch of crazy fun songs put together for anyone's general enjoyment. Panning drum&bass, downtempo, techno, ambient, r&b, house, pop, j-pop, videogame music, and probably a few more genres I forgot to mention, there's probably at least one track in here for you to enjoy."you guys are more than welcome to download the mix for your enjoyment. and mostly to tell us what you think!

I would give this a listen but I'm racist against j-pop, ambient and house.
Towa Tei, eh? I'll give it a listen then and report back later.

I've meant to give this some crits, but... can't really get to listen to the music very well. o_x My bf sleeps all the times when I'm on gaia and he seems to not like me type on the comp. (Though he does say that i can keep as much noise as i want, i'd like to let him sleep sometimes.)
I. Love. Persocon.
I've listened to it a lot now, it has many of my fav songs and the tempo is just really good.
Overall I think the cd has too many same kind of songs - if the tempo were different it would feel different to listen all of it at the same. Atm it's a bit... frustrating and maybe not interesting enough to listen straight through. Some sort of break would be nice - not necessarily some ballad, but for example some slower tempo (chill out?) trance. Though the songs themselves are good - I like the fact that he does different kind of songs and doesn't stick into just one theme.
oh and... the songs that I found "gems of the rest" were persocon, macrocosm, yoshi's starbucks break, Sifu sing (katamari, I take?) and Friday night.
Hmm. Also, the songs seem to all start with a "bash". They start high and try to go all the way really high. I think i liked Persocon very much because it started silently and worked it's way slowly to higher in emotions and otherwise.
As for the slower tempo chill out trance i'd maybe recommend something along Aes Dana - Digitalys, planet Funk - Inhuman Perfection, Ludvig & Stelar - Signal or such.
Is he open for commissions?
Edit: I'll have to say that i don't know much about music, so you don't have to take my comment 100% seriously. Also, I really like the way he makes the songs.

So I've listened to it and I've pretty much got nothing but trash to talk on it.
I know house is suppossed to be repetitive, but I found this album almost droningly so. You've gotta let the beat drop elsewise it becomes background noise.
I was initially piqued by a few of the names on there, but there is a lot of stuff on this CD that is just not my bag at all. I really have a hard time stomaching j-anything and any type of pop, so j-pop is right out.
This is a bit more of a sidebar than anything, but your ID3 tags could have been a lot better. There were no track numbers or album names in the correct fields, instead the album name, track number and track name were all in the 'name' field. Irritating.
Admittedly, part of why I didn't enjoy this is just a difference of taste. I do think that your DJ needs to get more creative with his beats though. A bit more variation and some cool-sounding cuts maybe.

A bit more variation and some cool-sounding cuts maybe. if it's more of just an issue of music choices, i can see why you would be a little put off by it. although the mix itself is less of the conventional type in where it's simply a medley of songs with minimal blending, but like before it's done in a similar fashion to avalanche's work. the whole mix revolves about cuts and layering of music to make it one consistent 'song' for lack of a better word. and the id3 tags were done mostly for credit purposes since we did have a cd cover with the tracks and such on it. - cd cover w/track listing
