It was the morning after they had returned from the failed mission, and the day spent in the caved with the Galactics, the sun was just starting to lighten the dark sky into softer tones of blue, and slowly the base was stirring to life.
By the time the sun finally peeking up over the horizon, Agent Faleen was making her way down the halls of the Tech lab, descending the steps.

She looked much more presentable than she had the night before, though not much could be said for the hours of sleep she got.
Though oddly it wasn't becasue of stress or worry keeping her awake, but more to do with the fact that she was up most of the night with the G-ball, and discussing things with the other agent on the project with her.
Thanks to Hayes, Faleen had managed to get the little sleep she did get. before she was back up and heading to the labs to run a few more numbers, and go through some theories that her and Hayes had considered. He had an interesting point she wanted to try and work with.

They had worked with what they could... the results were apparent, and Faleen knew that their wasn't anything else they could do.
With final results, and a full report drawn up, The agent made her way to Seth's office. Having already alerted him of an update she wished to bring to him, including information she learned from the Galatics.
She was not looking forward to this.

While Seth was typically an early riser and tended to get in before his work shift actually started, today he found himself a bit tired. Thus, he sat at his desk with his eyes closed as he waited for Faleen to show up, his head resting against one hand. However, as he heard footsteps approaching his office, he knew it was her.

Blue eyes opened immediately to stare at the door as he called to the person approaching it. "It's open," he called to her, granting her entrance before she even knocked. Once she came through the door though, the executive straightened up in his chair to face her.

"What do you have for me?" Was the first question, waiting to hear whatever her report might contain.

Her hand had started to raise to knock on the door, only to stop abruptly when she was told that the door was already open.
Blinking a couple of times, she lowered her hand to the door knob, and let herself in.

The door closed behind her, she turned to face the Executive.
"Good morning, Sir." She greeted him,
Crossing the room to approach his desk, where she placed a file she was carrying.
"I've written up a full report on the events that took place yesterday with the Galactics Sir. Detailing everything said about anything the one named Daimos said, did and modified, I focused mainly on the Tech" She replied.
"Agent Nyx allowed me to borrow her Dex, the one modified into a laser, and the only one not destroyed, for the department to take a closer look."

It was here she shifted her stance a little, moving her hands behind her back to fold them quietly.
"... And regarding the G-ball project sir, recent information gathered on it from the Galactis, later confirmed by Hayes and I..." She paused, for a moment "Reverse engineering will not be possible on the scale that we were originally hoping for."

The "good morning" was countered with an irritable grunt, as he watched Faleen enter and place a file on his desk. He looked at it with distaste for a moment before reaching forward to open the file and glance at the contents. Blue eyes then lifted to regard the agent as she continued to speak.

He didn't look particularly interested in the report, although he did want to know what had happened during that whole mission-gone-wrong. The man snorted in disgust as Deimos, and this supposed dex that had been turned into a laser, was brought up. He found it personally insulting since the Rocket Dex was partly his design and that stupid b*****d had defaced them.

However, his attention quickly snapped to the topic at hand with a spark of agitation as he was told that her project would not yield expected results. "And why the hell not?" Seth said in indignation, clearly not impressed with this turn of events. "Don't tell me that buffoon has outsmarted you. I expected better from you, Agent Ewell."

Her eyebrows arched a little, though for the most part she kept her expression level, and calm, though her cheeks flushed at his comment about being outsmarted.
Shifting a bit where she stood, she didn't look away from her superior, opening her mouth to speak again.
Damn that Deimos for making her look stupid in front of Seth.

"He's somehow managed to complete the theory of Zero-point energy, and has been using that to power the G-ball..." She explained, hands clenching behind her.
"He's using something thats not supposed to even exist yet..."

Of all the things he expected to hear, that was not one of them. Seth stared at her incredulously for several moments. He paused, as if expecting to hear something more, then snorted yet again.

"I knew you were capable of many things, but lame excuses was not one of them. Do you expect me to believe a bunch of fairy tales as a reason for your failure?! That this Deimos is capable of accomplishing impossible?! Zero point energy can't be used. It goes against many fundamental laws of physics!"

Seth was now sitting up straight in his chair, glaring daggers at Faleen. Did she take him for a fool? Or did this Deimos simply take her for a fool?

He didn't believe her, not that she could blame him, she didn't buy it when he told her either.
her face flushed a little more red, glancing away for a moment before looking back at him, her brow furrowed a bit.
"Sir I've never made excuses for anything, and I would never insult you by lying.
I have the reports, I have every step Agent Hayes and I took to try and disprove what Daimos explained to me. I didn't want to believe it either but our findings are quite solid." She frowned at this, lowering her arms to her side, hands still clenched, her face only getting redder.

"There is nothing in our physical realm of science that can explain why that G-ball worked, we've run every number, run every power source through every combination of relays and connected chambers. I want to believe he's lying to us, but the evidence clearly shows that there is something going on in there that we can't understand."

She took a breath after this, clearly bothered. She knew this wasn't going to go over well with the Executive, she didn't expect it to, it hadn't gone over well with her and she's usually a very level headed individual.
"I'm sorry, Sir."

"You're damn right you're sorry. This is ludicrous!" The executive bellowed, his anger clearly rising at the situation. "I want you to turn over the G-Ball and all the materials you used to me. I refuse to accept this. Even if he did manage to figure out zero point energy, there's no reason why we can't figure this out as well. Or at least no reason why -I- can't figure it out. I refuse to lose to that... loser!" By this point Seth was on his feet, his voice having risen several decibels and was no doubt audible outside of his office.

Even if Deimos managed to invent a way to use zero point energy, Seth knew he should be able to at least figure out how he managed to do it. He wasn't going to admit that fool was smarter or better than him. He would prove somehow that this idiot could be bested in some form or another. Seth would be damned if he just rolled over and accepted this crap.

She bowed her head softly, though didn't look away from the angry Executive, not blaming him either, this was a huge blow to the Rocket Tech, that their rival could be such a genius in something they all worked so hard at.

"I will have everything secured and brought to you right away Sir." she confirmed, with a delicate nod.
She really did hope he would be able to learn something about Zero-point energy from this, though she was still somewhat in shock of the possibility it was something that could actually be used. She wouldn't even know where to begin with it, not exactly her strength.
There was a deep feeling of shame however, She really didn't want to have to be telling this to Seth.

That was only a part of her news however, she didn't think this next part would at all help, but it was a development she felt he needed to be made aware of.
"As I mentioned before Sir... while we might not have been able to figure out how to reverse engineer the G-ball as a whole, There were some unique traits that we discovered by taking it apart, and with more detailed explanation I managed to get from Deimos, Agent Hayes and I were able to successfully run a simulation where a ball could hold only a maximum of three pokemon in a single sphere... We were hoping to construct a prototype and run an actual test on this,"

Three pokemon, out of Twenty, That was all they could get to work.
It was a rickety concept at the moment, worked together with what technology they did have, but like Seth, no one in the tech was willing to give up on this.
She had seen disturbing things from Deimos, the way he worked, the way he talked and acted and seemed to be a completely ridiculous genius, but she wasn't going to let that stop her, or this team.
It wasn't much, and it was far from impressive, but it was a start.
"If you want to notes on that as well Sir?

Seth grunted at the news of the limited success. "That's rather subpar, agent," he told her with continued irritation before sitting himself down again. This was rather frustrating, and Seth would have to get his own hands dirty to see where his staff had gone wrong. "Yes, I'll take those notes as well."

He supposed that partial success was better than none at all. But Seth was never one to accept anything halfway. He wanted the full results, not just a fraction of them. The executive had no intention of letting this project go just like that. There had to be a way.

The man then sighed and rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on all the sudden.

Her thumb rubbed at the bend of her finger, not taking her gaze off of the executive as he spoke, though there was a still hesitance after his words, her expression controlled, even though her eyes blinking a few times.
Still... she didn't argue, he was right after all.
Three pokemon did not compare to twenty, even though at the moment it was all they had, it was not better than Galactic... Galactic still beat them, and in no way would that ever be okay.

"I will go get the project, Sir." She answered without further discussion.
She was hoping to take everything they had learned an continue on the project, even if it wouldn't lead to where they want to go, any scrap of information for the labs would benefit Rocket.
She didn't consider it a bad thing that Seth was going to be looking into the project, she was disappointed that she was letting him down, that she looked like she couldn't do her job properly. But Seth was good at when he did, if anyone could find something more it would be him.

Her gaze lowered as she bowed her head politely "Am I excused to go?"
She asked, not leaving unless she had permission, until he was finished.

Seth could tell that Faleen was at least somewhat bothered by his words. Granted, he probably would have been also if he had been in her shoes. Hearing something like that when she had worked hard to get as much as she could out of that blasted contraption. But he wasn't one to apologize and he did speak the truth. In comparison to what Deimos had done, their efforts did seem to be rather subpar, something that was unacceptable to Seth.

When she asked if she was excused Seth grunted and waved a hand dismissively. "Yeah, go," he told her with an edge of impatience. His sleepiness was now banished and in its place was indignant stubbornness. He would figure this damn thing out or die trying.

She bowed respectfully when he told her to go, "Sir." she acknowledge before the blond agent turned, opened the door, and quietly left the room.

Her face was still pretty flushed as she made her way to the labs where her work station was. heading right over to the G-ball and not wasting time in getting it ready for transport.

Leaning against her palm as she ran through the computer backups, saving all the files and notes to a hard drive for the Executive.
Her jaw clenched steadily tighter, pushing herself back into a straighter posture, cupping her palms under her elbows while she waited for it to download, eyes falling onto the G-ball sitting in a custom case.
She didn't want it to end up like this.

When the downloads were finished, Faleen packed away the hard drive into a slot in the case, closed it up, and once again made her way back to Seth's office to drop it off. Knocking lightly on the door to announce her return.

Faleen's feelings were certainly understandable, but Seth would not brush things off without properly looking into it himself. That is if he even did at all. He waited patiently in his office, reading over her report until the agent finally returned with the equipment and the G-Ball that he had asked for.

She was allowed entry and once the items were placed on his desk, Seth immediately went into his own investigations. "Return to your duties," Seth muttered to her distractedly as he went to work. Once he was committed to a project, he would be focused on it for some time, and thus the executive would likely hole himself up in his office for hours as he examined the G-Ball and the information regarding it.

She stepped back after putting the case down, and stepped back as the Executive moved forward to take a look at it for himself.
Tilting her head slightly, watching the case being opened, before he told her to get back to her duties.
She did have some maintenance she was to see to today on one of the prototype mech.

"Yes Sir." She spoke softly, letting herself out, to let the Executive work on the project in silence.
