 Vinata stood upon a rock looking out at the sea of lush green grass. Her father had told her that it would all be gone soon due to the earth being so dry. However, she wasn't sure if he was just pulling her tail or being serious. Her father loved to joke about things and even though she often felt confused on whether or not he was joking or being truthful, she loved that the most about him. Vinata looked up to both of her parents because in each she saw something she admired.
Her mother for example was blind due to a disease, yet she still saw the world with such beauty. Something Vinata could not always see. However, because her mother was blind and her sister was beginning to show signs of going blind too, Vinata wondered if her and her brother would also suffer the same fate. Would they be the exceptions? Vinata shook her head. She didn't need to think about things like that right now. I need to find something to do. Vinata thought to herself as she jumped off the rock. As soon as her paws hit the ground she began to run as fast as she could through the green grass. Vinata wasn't paying attention to the sounds or sights around her because she just wanted to feel the wind against her coat.

 Frowning and kicking in his sleep, more like nightmare, he saw creatures come at him before they started chewing off his ears. He awoke with a silent gasp barely moving incase he caused the creatures to come back. As he became more aware of his surroundings though he realized that the creatures eating his ears were in all actuality his brother. " TOREN!" Rinji spoke sharply as he caught the tail end of his brother bum running away. He felt a twitch start to develop near his left eye, and decided inorder to find his inner happiness it was best to leave home for the day. It would be best to come back once his anger was gone. He didn't want to make his mother angry or worse yet his papa.
He raised his youthful head and closed his eyes enjoying the sound of the water trickling into the springs as well as the misty atmosphere the hotsprings seemed to generate all year round. He thought it best to let his mother and father know that we was heading out for a bit to clear his thoughts and enjoy what appeared to be sunny weather. Once that was done he headed out of the hotsprings and made for the trees as well as grassy area that surrounded their home.

Vinata didn't hear the other lion when she was running until it was to late. As soon as she smelt anothers scent she was already hitting into him with full force. "Ooomph!" Was the only sound her breath made after she hit into him and fell to the ground. The wind had definately been knocked out of her and it took her several minutes to regulate her breath. When Vinata had recovered she shot up and instantly felt her whole body twitching and pulsating with anger.
"WHY WERE YOU IN THE WAY!" She yelled at the other juve. "DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO MOVE WHEN SOMEONE IS COMING TOWARDS YOU!!!!!!!!!" She continued to yell, not caring about the consequences of her actions. "Your an idiot!" Vinata said with a growl.

He had been minding his own business walking at a sedate pace through the wood. Stopping every now and then to smell the air around him to see what had happened in that area. When suddenly he was knocked a few steps back by a black and green blurr. Just as he was going to open his mouth to express what had happened a loud and girlishy high pitched voice screamed at him. He felt all his emotions leave him as he took him the angered female infront and silently was amused at the ruffled creature tangled on the forest floor. He winced when her yelling got to the end as it was the most loud before he answered her calmly and politely. " Sorry about that little miss, but I believe we were BOTH at fault not just me." He was intelligent for his age, and he sometimes acted older than he really was which he thought was thanks to his mothers genes. Her next words made him twitch in silent anger, so much like his brothers attitude when they were in teasing or angry mode.
Rinji stared at the other female for a moment taking in the flame upon her nose which he thought was kinda cute before something caught his eyes and he gasped. He hurried over to the trampled plant with a frown, and then he began to fix the soil. " Poor thing did that mean ol' lioness hurt you." He mumbled quietly to himself. Sometimes Rinji didn't get social protocol such as introducing himself or saying things that could cause fights. " Never seen you before." He looked up at the female before going back to nuturing the plant.

Vinata watched with shock and disbelief as the other lion ran to the rescue of the small flower she had trampled over when she had ran in his direction. She shook her head and sighed. Was he really talking to a flower? Vinata had never met someone so weird before. But then again, that is what allowed her to be drawn into him to inquire more. As he turned around and said he had never seen her around here before. "I don't live here." She replied in the same tone and manner.
As she waited for what he might say or do next she took the time to look him over. She took notice of his green hair, that was like her's only darker and his white and gray body. He seemed to be the exact opposite of her. Where her body was darker, his was lighter. Where her hair was lighter his was darker. This intrigued her. How could someone be so parallel and not be born from the same family? Vinata decided she would stay long enough to find out. However, she knew it was better not to be drawn into his looks because there was a risk she could be so taken with them that she stayed forever.

She really was a prickly thing, the most prickl-ish female he had ever met. Maybe his mother was right about staying away from females until adulthood. "Ah, I see." He paused awkwardly not knowing how else to go on with the conversation. He looked down at the plant wondering if his mother was working her Goddess magic on the plant as it was recovering really well quite quickly.
"I like the fur pattern on your nose." He blurted out and then blushed at his attempt at making conversation. " I mean I like your body- I meant your pattern. Oh blast." He hung his head in dispair. "Can we start over without all this awkwardness? Hi I am Rinji and you are?"

Vinata tilted her head at confusion as the remark he had made. Did he really just? Yes, yes he did. She had been completely fine with him complimenting the fire on the tip of her nose. Or him complementing her pattern. But to compliment her body? She wasn't entirely what to do or say after that. No one had ever said such a thing to her before and she briefly wondered if this male was one of those "weirdo's" her parents had warned her about. That idea was quickly tossed out as he was far to young to be a "weirdo". Right?
"Hello Rinji. My name's Vinata." She smiled, though it was clear that she was a bit uneasy now. How should she respond? "Thank you. I got it from my father." Vinata smiled a bit more brightly now before she gently shoved him. "And of course you like my body. Your a boy and I'm a girl. How could you not?" She laughed, trying to ease the awkward moment a bit by stating a fact or what she considered to be one.

Rinji blushed with embarassment as he knew he was making a fool out of himself quite clearly. "Hey Vinata" He spoke shyly now. "Nice name you have-um yeah that is very true." His face felt on fire now but he cleared his throat and solidered onward. "What are you up too?" He sat up straight in an eligant posture copying his fathers mannerisms just a bite. "Maybe we can hang out some before I have to head home. Wanna swim or something for a little while?" He spoke tentatively waiting for the females answer.

The black cub inspected Rinji for a moment before she lied down just in front of him, her belly up. "I was chasing a butterfly. But then I hit into you. Now..." Vinata shrugged. She wasn't entirely sure what she was doing now. Maybe toying with him a bit. This was the first boy she knew, besides her brother and obviously learning how to flirt with him was not the best idea. That was just wrong.
"I wouldn't mind going for a swim." She beamed up at him before gently touching one of her paws to his nose. "You have a moon there." Vinata said, leaving her pat there on the tip of his nose.

He went crosseyed inorder to look at her paw on his nose. "Uh huh," His voice was a little muffled but puffed his chest out a little in pride. "My dad has one too, and it's right in the same spot as mine! Alright! I usually swim with my siblings so its nice to swim with others that aren't family sometimes!" He stood up and waited for the other to get up as he wiggled with energy. "Let's race! Don't have to have a winner we could just run and jump in. I love jumping into the water--hopefully it won't be too cold."

Vinata smiled and pulled her paw away as he got up to his feet. She of course did the same. "We could have a race." She nodded in approval at the idea. It sounded actually like a lot of fun. Especially if she won. "Come on twin. Let's go!" Vinata called out before she shot into a dead run towards the east of them where she knew there was water. "But not hot either!"

Rinji let out a snort in amusement as he watched as Vinata ran off ahead. Shaking off his daydreaminess he too began to pick up speed. His eat ate up the ground as his long legs pumped to keep up with Vinata and letting out a breathless laugh he jumped into the water just a minute after she did. Both combinations of their lands made a giant slash soaking a poor rabbit that had been laying in the sun on the grass.
"This is the life!" Rinji spoke out in happy amusement before bending his head and squirting out water at Vinata playfully. He ducked down into the water again to swim away. Water hide-in-seek was fun too and before he knew it half the day had faded away.
"RINJI! Time to come home son! " He whirled around in the water to see his father standing nearby waiting patiently with amusement.
"Sorry Vinata, I got to go." Rinji frowned a little at the aspect of leaving his new friend. "It was nice playing with you for a little while."

Vinata gasped as she had hit the water, it was the perfect temperature but it was still a bit shocking to her small frame. When Rinji squirted water at her she frowned with a playful look in her eyes then splashed him before he could dive under the water. Then once he was swimming off she began to chase him through the water. "Tag!" She yelled when she finally caught him.
After several hours the day was growing dark and she knew that she would need to return back to her parents, lest they get worried. It was just about then that Rinji's father appeared. She smiled sweetly towards the large male and jumped out of the water. "I do too. I will see you again sometime." Vinata smiled before she shook herself off and headed in the opposite direction towards her home. Today had been a fun day. She hoped that she would be able to encounter other cubs in these lands soon and make even more friends.
