It had taken quite a bit of convincing but Synestra finally managed to get Oloneric to agree to come with her on a trip outside the herds lands. She was glad to allow her colt to see more of the world and perhaps he would feel more confident in doing so with her by his side. Her other son didn't need an escort as he was all too often running off by himself and getting into worlds of trouble. But Oloneric was quiet, shy and not at all the outgoing type, he needed to be nurtured more than Syrrin did and this was her opportunity to do so. Synestra knew of her sons love of insects and was currently leading him towards a large flower patch that would hopefully hold a large number of insects for him to look at.
"It's just up ahead." She told the colt at her side. The trip was taking longer than it normally would due to Oloneric's short legs but it allowed her the opportunity to simply spend time with him, even if he was being his typical quiet self. Surely he would turn into a chatterbox the moment he spotted his first insect.
Oloernic still wasn't entirely sure he liked the idea of venturing this far away from home, but he had his mother with him and the allure of seeing more insects had finally made his resolve to stay home crumble and so they had set off. His eyes were wide as they walked along the unfamiliar lands, well at least to him they were his mother had been out here many times before. He had remained silent during their journey, simply taking everything in as they went. So when his mothers voice suddenly broke the silence the green colt did a bit of side step in surprise before realizing what had happened.
"Oh, okay." He answered simply and turned his gaze back to the direction they were headed. Sure enough after a little bit more walking he could see the patch of wildflowers up ahead. They presented him with a sea of color amidst the green ocean of grass. Surely he would find plenty of insects here to watch and study.
