 It had been several weeks since Darius her true love had left and she felt everyday excited but then when it grew dark her hopes faded. Everyday had been like that since he left promising to return it was very unlike her to be sad and worrisome but she was hoping nothing had happened to him or his family. He seemed to be her prince she believed he would come back and save her and take her far away to live with him. She then remembered the star in her mane his gift must he be missing it? He said he would be back to take it but just thinking of the star gave her power she would never be the same but she would try and be herself again till the day her prince came to save her.

Darius felt like a total heel, he had meant to return to the hill much sooner than now, but he had needed time with his family. His mothers tearful greeting aside he had had a few bridges to repair, and while they had all seemed well enough he had spent much time talking with them and telling his stories. It had taken time to answer all the questions and smooth the hurt feelings and reassure them that he was going to stay for a time, maybe longer. He had no immediate plans to leave, he had traveled enough for a while, and who knew maybe he would find a mate and decide to settle with a family of his own.
So this morning he was up early, greeted his family and told his mother he was going to see a friend. They had seemed a little disappointed that he was leaving for the day, but he had told them he promised and had kept them waiting long enough. His mother had seen him off with a smile and told him to invite his friend over some time. He was smiling as he made his way to the hill, his mother had such a sweet good heart, much like Sherbert.
He had gathered some flowers as an apology while he walked, finding a piece of tree fiber to hold them together, he was pleased with the simple little posey he had made. Making it to the top of the hill very early, it was barely past sunrise, and so he would wait and see if she came today. Still smiling he settled in a nice tuft of grass, placed his posey gift beside him and rested his head down. Partially concealed he waited and watched the sky and clouds and they finished changing colours. It was good to be home.

The morning was lovley after the day she dicded to live as much as her old sel as possible she decided to go back to her hill. It had been a while since she had been back going there reminded her of him and then all her emotions would come back today though she felt excitement and wanted to roll down the hill let everything inside her free. Perhaps she could yell ino the distance and confess her feelings fro him? That sounded like a good idea the sky could not talk back her feelings would be safe with the sky. She started the walk to her hill smiling and humming all the way there. She wondered if Darius was having fun with his family they must be important more important than her they were family but still...it had been weeks she thought he would of came back much sooner than weeks..
As the hill came into view she smiled and started running to reach the top like a bullet running through grass. That was when she skidded to halt because what she saw well all her emotions came bubbling up and the star on mane seemed to glow brighter. He was there Darius was at the top of the hill he was sitting there in the sun his stars glinting in the sun he was half hidden but his stars did give him away and his lovely color. She walked the rest of the way up longing to talk to him once more

He herd running hooves before he saw her, his head coming up as she cleared the top of the hill. Smiling at her, glad to see her, his smile a little apologetic, he knew she must have been waiting, though he had no idea where she had lived so even had he come sooner he would have been left waiting on the hill till she came.
Picking up the small bunch of flowers he had gotten for her and standing as she came closer, placing the posey at her feet. "I'm really sorry I didn't come sooner, I had some bridge fixing to do with my family, its no excuse but I'm really sorry for keeping you waiting." Expression apologetic, clearly sorry, but it is what it is, he had come in the end, besides he had warned her that he wasn't perfect, but he usually kept his promises.
His smile gentle as he looks at her, not sure what to say now that he had apologised, but perhaps he should let her speak, after all doing all the talking himself was rude, a lot had probably happened in the time they had been apart.

She grinned when his head popped up and she saw him same as the last time his mane glittering and sparkling. His expression could of said he was sorry but she did not care the thing was he came back he kept his promise and he came back. This must be the best moment of her life after all her friends leaving and never returning he really came back for her and his word was true. She had waited and waited and never had given up now it paid off because her prince was back.
Her jaw must of dropped when she saw him get up and walk to her holding flowers in his jaws when he laid them at her feet her jaw fell even further taking in the flowers he had just put down for her. He must of been very thoughtful she had no made him anything or even gotten him something she felt horrible now but she quickly closed her mouth not wanting to make a bad impression the second time.
"I waited for you and you really came back..thats all i could ask for..Your family must mean alot to you mine does to " she smiles now her matureness going away as suddenly as it came. He was perfect in every way shape and form even if he thought himself not to be he looked sorry and she knew he was. She had much to share with him what had happened over the weeks she knew he cared and so did she.
"While you were gone it was kind of boring here i wanted to go to this hill but it reminded me of you..I still rolled though" she grinned at him

He couldn't help but smile, she seemed somewhat shocked and happy at the same time. He found the combination endearing. "I'm sorry... I should have come sooner, I never thought you would not come here, its a good thing you came today because I don't know where you live..." He shifted his feet a little, feeling awkward at pointing that out.
His smile remained though. "I'm glad that you not coming here didn't stop you rolling, I would be very sad if that was the case." Though he had to admit he had not done... much... rolling since he had left before, though he had done some, on not so steep hills, after all he had to show some improvement otherwise she would think that he hated her sport. Though he had to admit he enjoyed it more on smaller slopes, this hill was rather steep....
"Was it boring because you stopped coming here?" Feeling bad for that, wondering what had been so bad about coming here with out him? It was a confusing thought, was it for fear that he wouldn't have been here, or was it something else. Though it might have been terribly ironic if he had returned day after day waiting for her and she was avoiding the place.

"well when i tried to come here i would think of you..and being on this hill i missed you even more..i..do..well.." she blushes and turns away not sure what to say to him but she quickly comes back at the mention of her living space "Oh thats right i never showed you where i live! that would of been bad if i was not here and you waited and then left because i was at home and you could not find me.." she smiles at him noticing him shifting in his spot "Would you like to see where i live..?" her voice trials off at his next words and she smiles more than ever
"I would never stop rolling ever even if this hill went away i would not like it if i made you sad..i would be sad then and and.." the thought came into her mind she knew what happened last time..would he even want to roll anymore? after that she could not imagine he would ever want to call it a sport. her hill was big and tall..they should roll in the grass! that was perfect then no one could get hurt because no one was rolling down a huge hill. she was going to tell him her plan but after she caught up with how he had been
"It was kind of boring..i was always waiting for you to come back..im glad you did since you came back it will never be oring again because we can have good memories here" she nods at him "Thank you for making me feel better and well..being here for me it seems you really care..you really do" she frowns thinking about the others who left and her mother and sister did they care about her..? it seemd Darius had more love then they ever had and he did not even like her..did he?

Smiling at her blush, finding her endearing as ever. "Knowing where you live would be good, it will help me come and find you without you having to worry about coming here and waiting." Besides it would be nice to be able to visit her on a whim, though he wasn't sure how welcome that would be... She did seem happy to see him though.
"Your welcome and I'm glad that you feel better and kept rolling, I did too though I stuck to smaller hills... mostly as there aren't any big ones where my family are..... And... well because its kind of big for a beginner..." It was his turn to blush but it was hidden in his colour so he just fidgeted a little feeling a little embarrassed, not sure why but sure she was going to go all giggly or something over that admission. But he was still smiling though it was somewhat shy now, he was glad she was so happy, but it was making him want to giggle and join her in her excitement which was odd for him, a girl had never made him feel like that before. Like last time her mood was infectious. "Yes we will have many good memories here." Looking around thinking that they would be lucky to find a place to call home on this hill, or in it. But he shook his head chasing that thought away, not sure where it had come from.

She nods at him her smile growing bigger "Well if you want to see where i live i would be happy to show you. Then you could come whenever you wanted knowing i would be at home or here on the hill" she looks down the far side of the hill that leads into the forest. "Would you like to come and see?" her eyes are beaming with joy now and her happiness is radiating off her. she pauses for a moment think about what he just said about the hill. It was true it was steep and tall and he was only starting..but this was the only hill she knew about. "Well..im sorry you had to ho though that the first time but you are right this hill is to tall for startes..is that ones no one ever came back here..?" she starts thinking to herself "Well i think you should practice on the ground before you go on any hills so when you do your an expert" she felt the urge to get closer to him as he shifted in his spot but she tried to resist that.
"We will as long as you keep comming back" she grins at him wishing he would settle down with her here if they could have a family. the thoughts came out of nowere but they were true she wanted to settle down with him and felt she was one step closer to her goal. He seemd to be falling her he was acting the same way she was and so she thought he felt some of the same feelings for her as she did for him.

Darius nodded and smiled, he would like to see where she lived, and it would make it easier to find her if she was either going to be here or at home, he would have to show her the way to his parents as well, though he wasn't sure if he would be staying there long term, maybe he should find his own little home?.. The thought of him and her finding a home on or by this hill coming again. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, they were getting weird. "I should show you where I'm staying for now, though I was just thinking I should find myself some place else to live." Smiling over at her reassuringly. "But its ok I'll show you where it is when I move so you can still come and find me. If you want to that is." He kind of liked the idea of her coming to find him so they could go out and do things together, same with him going to find her, it all seemed so odd to him, after all he had been alone for a long time, but he also liked the idea.
"I don't think anything drove them away, I think sometimes the good things are forgotten too easily." He walked over and gave her a nuzzle and a smile, changing the topic to the day they had together. "Well lets go and see where you live and then why don't we explore and see if we can find me a new place to live near by?" If they were lucky they would find a suitable place on her hill... There were those thoughts again, but as he looked at Sherbert he felt a sturring inside him, he wanted to make her smile and protect her from anything that would harm or hurt her.

She wondered if he might want to live with her..odd thoughts were racing around her mind but she welcomed them because she wished they might be true. She did not know what love was but she was finally admiting to herself she loved him. All these thoughts had to do with getting him to love her back but she knew he already did why else would he be acting like her..? Jumpy, nervous, blushing all the time there actions were the same and she wanted to admit her feelings to him. "Would you want to live with me.? I would love if you could stay around here by me and..well i would still like to see where you live! I mean you dont have to move in with me i i.." she ends up turing red embarrassed that nothing is coming out right. she smiles back at him now "I would love to see where you move to i could come and help you decroate" she grins at him wanting to show off her own home now.
"Well they will never know what they are missing out on they can forget all they want but they will never have this hill" she laughs and smiles when he nuzzles her she scoots closer to him and sist beside him her ears pearking up at the mention of her home "Sure! its this way" she gets up and starts running down the side of the hill that leads into the forest "cath me if you can! If you can catch me we can find a really nice place" she hopes deep down that he accpets her offer to live in her own home or she could move to his she felt as if he was her prince and protector sent to be something more than a friend

He couldn't help but chuckle as she bounded off down the hill and soon ran after her. "I'm going to catch you!" He caught up enough to bump her rear with his nose and grinned at her. "Gotcha!" Settling into pace beside her and slowing them down so they could continue talking, smiling at her pelased that she still had the star he had given her. Finding himself looking around them seeing if he can spot a place on the hill that could be used for a home, though nothing was obvious at the moment. Smiling t her as they walk, letting her lead the way, his blush lost in the general pink of him, his colour darker than hers so better for hiding it. "Thank you for the offer but I'm not sure your family would want a stranger moving in." Not able to remember all the details of her home life but pretty sure she had said something about her father or living with her father, it had been a few weeks ago when they had the conversation. "Though I would love the help in setting up and decorating a home when I find one." And he would, his mother seemed to be a believer in that a stallion needed a mare to make a home a proper home.
Still walking with her, not really sure where they were going though some bits were familiar. "Your right though, no matter what those others will never have this hill... Your hill." Looking at her again. It was her hill as far as he was concerned and always would be. Maybe one day it would be their hill where they and their family lived... But there were those odd thoughts again... Shaking his head to cleat them away, he had never had thoughts like that before, and he didn't understand why he had started now. He looked over at Sherbert, she was the only one that inspired them so it must be something to do with her.

She heard him call after her but she was going to fast to call back to him. She just smiled and kept on bolting down she was starting to slow however and she felt him nudge her with his nose. "Aw you caught me" she laughs and slows down further so there both at the same pace. She was panting and breathing hard but happy at the same time her heart beating fast she felt great. He seemed to be following behind her so she quickly found a post to plop down smiling at him. "Well i dont live with my father..if i did though your right he would be wondering what your doing trying to move in with us. I live alone but i live close enough to him that when i feel lonely i can see him" she nods "I cant wait untill you find a new home so i can make it feel like a real home" she grins at him thinking of making his home pink laughing at the thought "What if we make it pink!" she laughs harder now noticing him getting farther away quickly standing up and walking in pace with him.
"They will never know what they missed out on..its our hill not my hill" she blushes and quickly turns away her thoughts getting the better of her it was not there hill yet but someday it would be. She wanted to share her hill with them it could be something to the future family a symbol of hope. She looked back over to him knowing he really was her true lifemate he was the one she wanted to be with forever and she had a feeling it would happen.

He also went pink at her last words, though he focused on what she had said first so he could talk without becoming a blithering idiot again. "I had said I was going to catch you..." Thinking on what he was going to say next, not wanting to upset her. "Thank you for the offer of letting me stay with you, but I'm not sure I would feel comfortable living with a mare that I was not mated with." He had kept that part of his upbringing, not because he saw anything wrong with mares that had no set mate and would have foals and live along. He was all for mares and stallions choosing the life that was suited to them. But his father who had strong beliefs had slipped and made a family without even realising it till it was almost too late. And while Darius would never run off in shame like that he wanted Sherbert to find happyness, and have the freedom to choose her mate without making her feel uncomfortable with him lurking around. He looked at her unsure how to express everything without making himself sound like a vial letcher, or her sound like a weak willed hussy.
"Maybe making everything pink is not a good idea, we would often get lost.... Besides there are many lovely colours in the world." Smiling to her, pretty sure she had only been teasing, but the idea of an all pink home made him cringe inside. He had an image of her and him living together, happily mated and pink foals running around their all pink home.... No... that was no good at all, pink was fine and dandy but there could be too much of a good thing.
"Well I really hope to find a home on our hill then, that way no one else can even think of claiming it and spoiling our game." Smiling at her again, wanting to nuzzle her, though this urge had him putting just a little more room between them. Blushing thinking he might be more like his father than he thought, but no he was not going to be all lusts, Sherbert would have love, she deserves to be loved.

"You said you would and you did!" she gives a small smile to him and nods "Well someday we might be lifemates!" She quickly turns pink her eyes showing shock at what she just sad it was true she wanted to be with him forever but to say that?? She puts her head down to try and hide her embarrassment she really could see them as an family with many foals running around and a huge family. She could tell he liked her to but it was to early to say she wanted him forever she trusted him with her heart he had given her one of his stars right? That meant something to her that meant everything to her.
"We might run into the wrong rooms if everything was pink" she laughs and leans on him "There are many colors..all of them are nice" she nods at him thinking about what an all pink home might look like both of them were pink and the foals would be pink..that would be to much everyone would be running into another because everything was pink and she would not want that to happen. "I know we can find a home on our hill i would not like if someone stole our hill but if they ask and join us..that would be fun" she smiled back at him feeling the same burning urge to get closer she wanted to love him and she would in the end she knew she would.
