The black wind howls... The premise of this Mafia takes us to the mystical city of Zeal, circa 13,000 BC. Guided by the tainted power of Lavos, a people discovered magic and ascended to the sky. At first, they did wonderful things with their newfound power - they studied the properties and facets of magic and invented many things to make life easier.
But with time, a dark wind began to blow...
The Zealots began to think of themselves as superior to the tribe they had left behind, so when one of their mountains began to rise as Zeal had, the queen ordered it be chained to the ground. The Zealot army burned their homes, ridiculed their aspirations, and named them to reflect their scorn: "Earthbound".
The day the chains were put in place, several vengeful Earthbound snuck aboard the Zealots' prized aeroplane Blackbird. They marched off the plane dressed in Zealot garb, and patiently waited for night to fall...
The next morning, Zealots gathered around the flagpole to gawk at the lifeless body of their Queen hanging at the top from a makeshift noose. Vines found only in the Earthbound regions had been arranged to make a message at the foot of the flagpole:
"For us to rise, you must fall." Days end at 10PM EST (7PM PST, 3AM GMT). All roles and votes must be in by then. You may PM Cabron LaSwan or Shiny Gligar for questions, comments, role uses, etc.

Am I a butterfly dreaming I'm a man... or a bowling ball dreaming I'm a plate of sashimi? These are the roles that appear in this instance of Fall of Zeal, which has been edited for size. Tweaks have been implemented to keep the game running a bit longer, so please skim over the role list again to familiarize yourself with these variations.
Zeal Side (Town)
Elementalists are not in this game.
Scholar - You spend most of your time in the vast libraries, giving you the knowledge and common sense you require to analyze people and their loyalties. Each day you may choose one person to analyze and discover their role and alignment.
Princess Schala - You are a benevolent soul who hates to see people suffer. Each day, you may choose one person to shield with your magic, protecting them from any attacks for that day. N.B.: Schala does not count as a 'targeting' role as far as Nu's ability is concerned; that is, she cannot protect from Nu.
Janus - You are the young prince of Zeal, Schala's beloved brother. You are safe from all forms of elimination except Nu and the Vengeful Lover as long as Schala is alive.
Alchemist - You are a curious magician who loves to experiment. Each day you can pick one target to be your test subject, either killing, roleblocking, or protecting them, or learning their role.
Earthbound Side (Mafia)
Village Chief - You are the leader of the Earthbound people, and it is you who decides the target. You are responsible for sending in the PM for your side's nightly kill; unless you die, no other teammate may do it. Investigations performed on you will fail as if the querant has been roleblocked.
Vengeful Lovers- You and your lover lost your newborn child in the Zeal raid, and came along to get even, though you're both still grieving. If one of the Lovers dies, the other is given the ability to make a single kill. This kill cannot be blocked by any form of immunity.
Fearmonger - You are a seven-foot-tall, four-hundred-pound mountain of muscle. And when you make threats, people do what you say. Each day you may select one person to frighten into not using their role.
Neutral
Nu - All life begins and ends with you. Each day, you may choose one person to headbutt. If they are not being targeted by any other role, you will kill them; otherwise your attack will fail. You cannot be eliminated through any method except the lynch. Your objective is to be the last person standing; regardless of numbers, neither Mafia nor Town side can win the game until Nu is dead.
Dalton - You may be a high-ranking official in the Zealot army, but you have your own agenda; you want to be ruler of Zeal. As such, your loyalties may vary. You may choose whether to ally with the Town side or the Mafia side at the beginning of the game, and when scanned, alignment is not shown; only role. N.B.: Since Dalton is primarily a Neutral character, he does not count toward either side's ratio for win condition purposes. (I will explain this further upon request, if necessary.)

Never assume what you see and feel is real! Day Two: A New Kingdom The loss of Queen Zeal caused emotions to run high, finding the Zealots throwing panicked accusations amongst themselves. Eventually, they decided that Zahmen II was to blame, and threw a hasty lynch on him. They were amazed to find that young Janus was susceptible to their torches and pitchforks - wasn't the Prince untouchable by the people? And where was Alfador, his faithful feline companion?
Baffled by this mystery, they went searching the palace. As they rounded the corner, they heard a single baleful mew. Following it to Schala's quarters, they found the cat licking Wantcookie's lifeless palm. The royal family had met its end.
Day Three: One Among You The town was at a split decision on what to do. Leaving fate to a coin toss, they decided to persecute Rhed King for high treason and conspiracy to assassinate the royal family. Unfortunately, the autopsy revealed him to be a vanilla Zealot, leaving the true culprit among them.
That night, misternitsua's sleep was a troubled one. The Scholar was haunted by nightmares so realistic, he wasn't sure they were nightmares. Sometimes clairvoyance is a curse rather than a blessing. When he woke, he decided the first thing he needed was a good, stiff cup of coffee. When the town went looking for him, a good, stiff cup of coffee was all they found - shattered on the floor of his kitchen, seeping into bloodied robes containing no body. Whoever said revenge is best served cold has never done it this way.
Day Four: No Love Lost The remaining Zealots and Zealots-in-disguise unanimously agreed to lynch Lyzikipz. The Vengeful Lover didn't put up much of a fight - it seemed she had lost the will to live before the battle had even begun.
That night, the Earthbound Ones circled the last remaining Zealot, Supersephiroth7. The Alchemist used every last trick in his arsenal to try to protect himself, but eventually he was overcome by their numbers. They left the palace, laughing amongst themselves, preparing to return to the Blackbird with their deed done and unchain the Mountain of Woe, allowing it to rise to its rightful place in the sky.
However, the last laugh was yet to be had. They found the other Vengeful Lover, J of the Wind in the pilot seat, sprawled lifelessly over the dashboard. His body was intact save for an enormous goose egg on his head - the mark of the Nu. It seemed there was still justice to be served in the mystical city.
