Xiùlán hummed a little as she meandered through the forest. There was no method to her walk, but as she came to a small lake, she headed toward it. The pretty blue drew her to it, and as she lowered her muzzle to drink she smiled. It smelled so fresh, so clean. Like just after a cleansing rain. That was her favorite scent, the forest after a heavy rain. With a sigh, she wondered if she'd ever meet another of her kind...she hadn't met many Soquili at all, let alone another Kirin. She wondered what it would be like to meet one...

Movement on the other side of the lake made Xiùlán blink and look up. She hadn't expected anyone to be here. Especially not another Kirin! Goodness gracious, he looked...so bright! And were those...yes, he had daises in his mane. She smiled at that, thinking a stallion who allowed daisies to be braided into his mane must be a gentle and kind stallion indeed. Oh! No, he was leaving! Or was he just hiding? The thought that someone might be hiding from her was....well, laughable really. Not that she would laugh at anyone, she was much too nice. Perhaps she should say something to let him know she meant him no harm. "Ah...g-good morning," she murmured, then repeated herself a little louder since the goal was for him to hear her. "G-good morning! It's n-nice to see s-someone else around...p-please...you don't h-have to be shy," she said and smiled at him, slowly beginning to make her way toward him.

She paused, then stopped when he ducked behind the reeds. Was he really that shy? Afraid? She frowned a little; she didn't think she was something to be afraid of. Was there something wrong with her that she didn't know about? Was that why he hid from her so? About to turn around and leave so as not to cause him more distress, Xiùlán blinked at the question that made her stop. Real? She was, wasn't she? "Ah..y-yes...I'm real," she answered, looking at him a little confused, a little afraid.

Though still a little confused, the grey and purple kirin stepped a little closer as she nodded. "Y-yes...I am...You are, too, right?" She smiled when he said he hadn't met another kirin yet, either. So she wasn't alone! She could have danced with the relief. "No? I haven't either! You're the first one I've met...My name is Xiùlán...what's your's?"

She smiled; his stutter was really cute! It was such a strange thing...such a large and imposing looking male being so shy and softspoken. But...she liked it. "Nice to meet you, Yori," she said and blinked at his next statement. Purple gray eyes looked up at his horn, then tried to look at her own, getting a little frustrated before she thought to look at her reflection in the stream. "Oh, heh...silly me..hmm..." she mused as she looked at herself, then back at Yori. "Yes...I see what you mean...hmm. Maybe...maybe it's because you're male and I'm female?" She smiled at him when he circled her and stopped to look in her face, the sudden eye contact making her blush a little.
