Welcome to the Destiny City 2011 Prom! All students and faculty from Meadowview, Crystal, Azure Valley, Hillworth, St Magdalena's, DCU, and Sovereign Heights are invited, and welcome to bring their own dates as well. This night (which will last from Wednesday the 18th until the evening of Sunday the 22nd) is a night for fun, dance, and festivity. It is not a night for the Senshi and Negaverse to continue on their war --- this is a peaceful event and meant to be social. If you must fight, please, take it outside. Assume there is strong security inside the event, and anyone who acts out will be tasered, bro. Other typical and non-magical teenage shenanigans are easier to get away with, so feel free to spike the punch bowl. Due to last year's prom being canceled and budget reused for this year, and the seven schools deciding to make one massive prom, the budget is roughly fourteen times the size of your typical prom --- and this includes budgets from posh schools such as Crystal and Azure Valley Academies! As a result, this prom is larger than life. The festivities are held in a massive ballroom in the most highly-rated hotel in Destiny City, decorated with a "night under the stars" theme. Across the ceiling drapes a dark cloth with an array of tiny lights carried in its canopy, creating a look of stars dangling above. Towards the back of the room, near back exits with high security, is a large stage for the musical performances of the evening. Stretching before the stage is a large dance floor, with beautifully decorated tables scattered around the room. A dinner is served with a large buffet, but students may opt to eat before or after the prom instead. This night is a night to remember; enjoy it!

Prom night is a night to remember. Plenty of people have memorable proms, just think of the prom in Carrie! One could only hope for a prom as memorable! To remember your prom night, a photo station has been set up. You can get photographed just like this, a souvenir photo of you and your date or your friends!

Download the .psd file (linked in image above) and toss in artwork of your character! If you do not have official prom art, don't fret! You can ask a friend to do artwork for you, draw a doodle, or use other civilian art! The font in the picture above is Lucida Handwriting, but for the "Prom 2011" font, you may download that font here.

Obviously this prom event is blessed; but who may attend this blessed event? Any student from Meadowview High School, Crystal Academy for Girls, Azure Valley Academy, St. Magdalena's Seminary, Hillworth Grammar School, Sovereign Heights Preparatory, or Destiny City University may attend! They may also bring a date! Due to the large number of students attending, faculty from all of these schools are invited. Faculty may also bring an age-appropriate date.
Why are Shlip and DCU attending a prom? Isn't that for high school? Due to the cancelation of last year's prom, older students were invited so that they may experience prom - often considered a rite of passage. Instead of only inviting the freshman class, however, all students are invited.
May a student at Knightside Elementary attend the prom? No.
So, who is actually attending? The list of prom goers are...
Howl Wickham & Aurora Namid Ashley Desmond & Tate Konstantin Azzo Crowley Christabelle Calloway & Melinda Reese Ever Ambrodiel & Zac Bantock & Sabine Moss Devi Gellner Xavier Avery & Bell McMahon Aree Cadence & Claudia Jensen Lysander Cadwell & Addison Reed Rose Sullivan & Sydney Martin Fallon Novette-Naim & Eilian Halpan Jada Chamberlain Kirin Thompson Lorelei Armati Rikard Colby & Toki Framont Tabitha St George Genevieve Ame Bo Hanley Marlo Xanis & Elzo Xanis & Daphne Xanis Ariel Storm Kaia Delaney & Chase Black Blake Allison & Vicky Collins Serah Eos

((The prom king/queen system are being redone, so nominations from the plot thread are sadly invalidated. Your characters can be renominated!))
What is prom without a prom king and queen? Why, it is an event where no feelings are hurt, of course! And in Destiny City, that simply cannot happen! The schools of Destiny City have agreed on setting one prom court for all of the schools. Here is how the process will work!
1) Characters have between the start of prom (as of this post) until Friday the 20th at 7PM EST to post their nominations of another character. NOMINATIONS GO IN THIS THREAD. ---- You must have an existing character who is attending prom in order to nominate someone. ---- The person being nominated must be a student attending prom. See the list in the post above. ---- Character nominations must be an IC decision with IC reasoning. 2) Results will be tallied! The students with the most nominations will make up the Prom Court and are awarded with the title Prince or Princess. The Court will be announced Friday night. 3) Then, voting will open by secret ballot to elect Prom King and Queen out of this Court. To send a secret ballot, send in your vote as a PM to Destiny City Prom! You must have a prom-attending character to vote! 4) At the end of prom, the King and Queen will be announced!

The spread for the prom was absolutely splendid. As the teal-haired fellow stepped out of the limousine, he could not help but pause for a moment to take in the sight of the hotel. However, his attentions soon enough went back to his date, who he held his gloved hand out to in an effort to help her out of the vehicle. They matched quite well, with the base color of Miss Namid's dress matching the light blue cummerbund of his tuxedo. She wore an orchid corsage upon her slim wrists, while upon his coat was an orchid boutonniere. Howl had insisted that he had been allowed to purchase the flowers for the evening. In all honesty, he had done quite a bit of the planning for the evening. It was only proper that he took care of the flowers, the limousine, and held onto the tickets for the event in his jacket pocket.
As the girl stepped out of the vehicle and the driver closed the door behind her, he extended the crook of his arm to her so he could properly escort her to the entrance.
"Shall we, Miss Namid?" he asked while offering her an absolutely charming smile.

She was a little early. Better early than late, right ?
She felt positively glamorous, though. This wasn't her senior year, not her real prom, but it really felt like it. She was all dolled up in ways she thought she'd never get dolled up, and it was... exciting. Positively exciting.
And good lord, what she could see of the room was gorgeous...
Her dress was quite simple, compared to most of the other girls she could see, but she didn't mind. She liked it that way. She didn't want to trip all over her expensive dress ! Her hair was a little more curly than usual, natural curls enhanced for the day. Her makeup was light and subtle, as she preferred it.
Still, a part of her didn't believe she was there. With a date, even. Not a romantic date, but this was seriously more than she'd expected she'd get !
Now to wonder if she'd convinced her brother to show up... and more importantly, if he would show up with a lady on his arm or not.
For now, through, Ashley turned toward her own lady. "Are you ready to go ?" She asked Tate, a smile on her face.

Azzo had eventually been talked into going to prom by grams. Dateless, he shook his head. He'd just graduated why would he want to go back? He was fancied up slightly in a pastel yellow dress shirt, with a slate grey vest that held gold trim and his pants were matching slate grey.
His pocket watch was tucked safely away in a pocket, and he watched the prom with suspicion. Then again everything else he'd ran into also ended up with party crashers, so why would he expect this to be any different. His intent for a while was to watch over Aurora and her date, making sure that she wasn't hurt by Howl. Azzo should have made more of a point to catch up with the guy before this and prod at him to see what he was about.
That said, Azzo was actually happy Aurora had found a date, and well from the looks of it Howl was most acceptable in their arrival style. Azzo hadn't wasted money on a limo, or much less any sort of ride, choosing to leave early enough for a stroll once or twice around the area. Mainly to make sure there was no trouble before being satisfied.
He stood there against the wall of the hotel outside watching those people arrive in style. He'd go in a bit later, right now he was avoiding the inside because he could distinctly heard Justin Bieber music.

If asked, Tate had to opine that the proper term for when one should arrive at Prom was "never". But she liked Ashley--the girl had come over a few times and they'd talked about the area. Apparently her brother was moving in? Something like that.
Point was, they got along well enough and Tate was just enough of a possessive friend that when Ashley complained for lack of date, Tate volunteered. Why put herself in someone else's debt anyway? That happened to be why she'd picked up Ashley at her home, put a corsage on her wrist (as promised) and now... here they were!
Last year, she'd been in a coma when this happened. It was strange to realize that this was basically what passed for her senior prom... and that she was wearing a tux for it. Oh, well, it was pretty comfortable and closer to what she normally wore than a fancy dress would be. She looped an arm through Ashley's and nodded, then affected her Glower Towards the Ill-Natured Short (Who Were Not Ashley). If there was a place they wanted to go, they'd get there, or... Or Tate would do something, she wasn't quite sure what.
"Table first," she asked, smiling a little at Ashley.

Christabelle was, in all honesty, quite uncomfortable. She received the invitation as no doubt everyone else did. Her dress was well-fitted and the appropriate color (she thought), and her father insisted she go. Zach, her little brother, wanted to crash the prom with some of his friends, but was caught just before hopping on their bikes. With the help of her cousin, both girls arrived to the dance on time and with comfortable shoes. Melinda helped Christa with her hair, thankfully. Christa would have gone to the dance like she normally had it. Turning to her cousin, Christa pondered mingling with a group of people she didn't know. Some she had seen from school or around town, and others were complete strangers. "Mel, do yo know any of these people?"

Ever probably shouldn't have been here. Neither in Sovereign Heights nor DCU, if it hadn't been for the idle muttering of frustrated Meadowview girls in the library, complaining about the difficulties of finding a date, he wouldn't even have known the prom existed. If it weren't for a quick perusal through some books, he wouldn't have known of the life-shattering importance of the dance.
He still wasn't convinced on that last bit, but a very chatty Crystal girl had informed him at the library that, yes, it was the end of the world not to go, and it was even worse to go without a date. As such, he'd decided to play gentleman -- nabbing Sabine at a quiet moment to ask if she planned on going and being met with a bright-eyed expression at the prospect of dresses and parties and dancing.
In over his head, he'd at least managed the dress, entering with a brightly-bedecked and well-fitted Sabine beside him, his own long fingers delicately curled through hers. The way he held her hand was shockingly light and gentlemanly, a bare press of skin to skin, drawing her along through the doors.
He paled beside her, in a worn-out collared shirt, a somewhat-too-big vest that hung open around him, instead of carefully buttoned closed. His pants chosen more for practicality than elegance -- there was definitely a bottle of something hidden in at least one of the oversized black cargo pockets.
The rainbow tie, however, was a nice touch.

Going hadn't exactly been in his plans, but they had sure as hell been his mother's plans. She complained bitterly that he didn't invite 'that lovely girl' who he'd brought home before... he swore she moved out of town till she finally gave up on it.
In the end she insisted he go 'Stag' on the hopes that he'd meet another pretty girl. It took quite a lot to remind her that no being interested in Men wasn't a 'phase' she was going to beat out of him, but somehow the idea of introducing her to Ever...
Well, no maybe causing her heart failure was a GOOD idea in the long run, probably unfair to Ever though, she had a history of throwing things these days.
The moment's sympathy with Ever's potential plight was quashed however, when he saw the flicker of Rainbow Chiffon. Sabine! He hadn't known who her Date was because she had been surprisingly evasive in -telling- him. He expected...maybe Wolfram...or perhaps That newest Corrupted ...sorry, Purified Senshi...
He did not expect Ever... or Ever in a rainbow Tie to match his date. His eyes were wide and he stood frozen for a moment pondering quite hard on if he should march over or look for cover.

"Okay !"
Really, Ashley was just more than happy to have a date. Even if it was just a friend ! Though, Tate was certainly quite pretty. Especially in a tux,
Ah well.
While Tate looked for a table with her height advantage, Ashley scanned the room. A few faces she recognized from school, already, a few strangers, a blue haired midget that she could swear she'd seen somewhere before... Uh.
And Sabine ! Oh la la... Yes, she'd picked her dress well. Ashley prevails once again ! She was positively adorable. And Ever... well... was being Ever, though the rainbow tie was both adorable and hilarious.
No sign of the elder Desmond yet. Hmm. If he had holed up in his room to code something or other instead of coming to prom, she was sooo going to kick his a**.

Ashley and Sabine, to Evers great displeasure probably, spent a long time digging through the purple haired girls wardrobe searching for the perfect dress. Not only did they have to make the dress... but accessories had to be decided as well! Ashley even helped put Sabines hair up the way it was. It was in no way as long as when she was powered, so there was little they could do with it. Currently, it felt like she had a plastic cap on her head from somehting called 'hair spray.
Poor Ever, having to wear that rainbow tie.
At least they matched!
"Thank you for bringing me, Ever." Was said softly, but hopefully had enough power to travel over the noises in the hall. She gripped his hand a little tighter hopefully to re assure. But in fact? she was scared too.
Scanning the room Sabine saw one familiar face. Ashley, looking gorgeous as always in her outfit. She wondered how much time she spent choosing her own dress...
and...
"Zac?" She called over, pulling ever a little in his direction.

Devi Gellner wasn't typically one for school dances, but this wasn't any ordinary school dance. This was prom. She learned a lot from the movies, and the prime lesson of all high school movies were that prom is ******** important. She had no interest in becoming prom queen, but she couldn't allow herself to miss this rite of passage. Besides, with all the s**t that had gone down in her life lately, she deserved a night of unadulterated fun. She entered the massive hotel ballroom in a short, strapless two-tone dress with a sheer layer and a deep maroon sash. She rarely dressed up so nice, and even went to the salon for a new 'do for the occasion. She wanted to look good, even if she had no date to look good for. As she walked through the main hall, she was stopped by another student. Becky McZlutt. Becky was one of the bitchiest students at Meadowview who constantly gave Devi a rough time. She used to attend the same synagogue as her family, and their parents had gotten along, which made Devi an unavoidable target of Becky's ridicule. "Oh, little Devi Gellner," Becky said with fake enthusiasm. "You almost look a quarter of the way to presentable. Not enough to snag yourself a date it seems? But I thought you were dating someone? Or, oh! Did he leave you when your parents left you? That's so tragic." "My date's lurking around somewhere," Devi lied. "Let me guess, he's around but nobody will see him? An invisible date." "Something like that. But if you come near me again, don't doubt that my invisible date can kick your tangible a** I beat your hollow head to the floor," she threatened. "But you look sooooo pretty tonight! Have fun!" Devi walked away from the other girl and hurried over to the buffet. b***h.
