Adrian had a list of things he wanted to do today. Super important things, too! Like Rollerblading. And Ice cream. And swimming. And seeing what he could get his awesome new set of Buckyballs to cling to. And not ingesting said Buckyballs, even by accident! They were all super important things and none of them had to be done alone - he was an okay multitasker! But what he wasn't expecting to do today, was to be in the rain.
Oh man was it ever raining.
The skies had randomly opened up to near torrential downpours earlier in the morning, catching the orange-headed, electric-blue eyed teen mid-ice cream. At the time he had retreated into a nearby coffee shop, where he had put his time and energy into wishing the rain away. That failing, he decided it was purely because he was still outside.
Mother Nature probably couldn't hear him indoors! That had to be it.
Frowning to himself, he grabbed his bag, stuffed the two-hundred-and-sixteen buckyballs into his pocket, and headed out to find a very wet bench to sit on.
COME ON RAIN, STOP PLEASE. NOW PLEASE. REALLY. I BEG YOU. PLEASE.
For now, it was all just really hard mental wishing.

There was another out in the torrential downpour that had hit Destiny City. One dressed just as bright as a freakin ray of sunshine even in the dreary weather. Still, rain mean nothing to Demetri Wright! Rain was just another fun thing to do! Or...do stuff -in-, really. Whatever!
So rather than sulk, or find a bench to sit on and stare down nature with, Demy had approached this day in an entirely different way. Throwing on his hoodie that looked paint splattered, the boy had gone stomping through the rain. Literally stomping. Every puddle? That boy was jumping in it and giggling like he was five. This was freaking sweet.
It was only after he had splashed one particularly large puddle all over some poor soul sitting on a very wet bench that Demy actually thought about what he was doing. And even then it took him a few moments of careful pondering to actually notice the now doubly drenched person sitting on the bench.
.....
"Oh dude! I'm so sorry!" Said person now had one overly excited kid with multi colored streaks of hair plastered to his face hanging all over him.
"Didn't mean it! Didn't see you, what are you doing sitting there all grumpy looking? It's AWESOME out here isn't it?"

"ADSFFG!" Adrian sputtered out when the ground started to rain on him, too. Sitting up suddenly as though shocked, the orange-headed teen tried to shake some of the water from his now-drenched red hoodie, which was on it's own a useless endeavor. WHAAAAT Mother nature, you bit----Oh hey, wait a minute, there was this sudden weight on him how the hell did---
"WHOA, man!" He sputtered out in surprise, finding an actual person hanging on him. "S'okay, but...Where'd you come from?!" Clearly, he had been paying just about as much attention to his surroundings as the person who was clinging to him now. Grumpy? He wasn't grumpy! Just...not grumpy!
"I want the sun to come out! I had a big day today, man." There was a thoughtful pause. "It's only fun if you get sick with someone else." Because having fun in the rain is fun, but if you're the only one to suffer for it later, it's not so fun.

"I came from over there!" The boy who was absolutely all smiles pointed excitedly to the path he had taken. "And there was all these awesome puddles! So I've been stomping in them all WOOSH with the water and stuff, and then I hit this one and I didn't see you there so I accidently splashed you and I'm sorry!"
Occasionally he took a breath while he spoke. Very rarely though.
"You can still do stuff in the rain! I...wasn't really doing much, what kinda plans did you have? Can I come? I'm awesome company! ...Oh god I should tell you my name yeah? It's Demy! What's yours, hrm?" There was a hand offered for a shake, but...well hell, Demy -was- already perched all over him. At least he was friendly!

Over there? Adrian took a peek from under the stranger-boy's arm; oooh, that was a good place to come from!
"Oh, that was YOU? I thought maybe the ground hated me." Adrian replied in complete awe, understandably having to take a moment or two to catch up to the over excited blonde. He settled for laughing, and finding a way to awkwardly shake hands despite the clinging that was already going on.
"Nice ta meetcha! I'm Adrian!" Grinning, the bright blue-eyed teen tried to untangle himself from the mostly-stranger. "I wanted to go Rollerblading without dying and swimming and other things..." Where was his mental checklist? He couldn't remember. "Don't think I can really do those now so sorry, I guess you can't come." Still trying to untangle himself without seeming too rude, a sudden thought occured!
"Unless you were doing stuff! Then can I come?!" Because clearly, Demy was in the rain and there was a high chance of not getting sick alone!

"Why would the ground hate you? That'd be pretty darn rude of the ground wouldn't it? Silly ground, hating on people. Sheesh!" Demy untangled himself from the no-longer-a-stranger and perched on the bench beside him instead. It was slightly better than perching in his lap. Slightly.
"Well Adrian, rollerblading would probably be a terrible idea in the rain, but you can still TOTALLY swim! As long as there isn't lightning!" Which of course, as if it was on cue, a GIANT streak of lightning flashed in the air above them followed momentarily by the rumbling roll of thunder. The blonde's acid green eyes widened for a moment as he completely froze in place. As the rumbling died down he seemed to regain the ability to move...
"Ahhh...m-maybe swimming is a bad idea too..yeah. I wasn't doing much myself! But I'm sure we could find something to do yeah? Here, first of all you need some glowsticks, cause everyone needs glowsticks!'
Demy dug around in his soaking wet hoodie for a moment, soon turning up a package of unopened glowsticks. In a rare move, he handed over the entire package and encouraged the other to open them up. "Go on! Take them! It might not be dark but I bet they help in the rain too, and they're just plain fun."

"It would!" Adrian cried in agreement. "I mean, it already gets rocks in my blades and augh." Oh good, Demy moved! Usually he was alright with people sitting on his lap, they were just never strangers. Or wet strangers. Or overly friendly wet strangers. Like Demy, Adrian froze when the lightning shot through the sky and the thunder decided to growl at them; but he was faster to melt, and man was he ever grinning.
"THAT WAS AWESOME!" He cheered, fist pumping into the air. His heart was racing! He loved it! His excitement simmered down to curiousity as he was handed something; he accepted it, one fist still in the air in permanent victory, and inspected the wet package with curious blue eyes. Glowsticks? A whole package of them?! Sweet! While he was unaware how rare getting an entire package was, he was pretty impressed he was even given them! "Dude! THESE ARE AWESOME! Thank you!" The package opened and one - a blue one - was pulled out, just not lit yet.
"...Oh!" Well, he couldn't just get something for free, right?! Patting himself down, he felt the magnetic balls in his pocket, smooshed into a shapeless mass of silver. "Yooou caaaan haaave..." He bought time to fish them out of his pocket, and then held the mass of bead-sized magnets to Demy. "These!" Buckyballs in exchange for glowsticks. Seemed fair.
He waited for Demy to take them before cracking open his first gifted glowstick.

Demy seemed absolutely delighted by the fist in the air signaling VICTORY. This was good! Excellent even! Even better when there were glowsticks involved. These were, of course, the ultimate sign of victory. Demy beamed with pride as the other immediately dug into the package and pulled out the best color ever. Oh yes, this guy would make an EXCELLENT friend!
And Demy always liked finding new friends!
"You're SO welcome! And---huh?" The blonde tilted his head, eyed the magnetic balls for a moment, and quickly scooped them up. "Dudeeee, what are these? They look really neat and...OoooOooo!" It hadn't taken him long to find out that the mass of balls could be molded, and within seconds Demy was working away to form them into something truly awesome.
"DUDE what are these called? They're friggin sweet and just..thank you so much!" The smile only grew as Adrian went on to crack the gifted glowsticks and Demy's hands worked away at molding the Buckyballs.

"Uhh...Buckyballs, I think? Yeah! They're like, magnets!" Which should have been pretty obvious to the energetic Blonde by now, considering he was molding them into various things. The brightly glowing blue glowstick was held up to be more at face level; with the dreary gray that lingered everywhere thanks to the rain, the blue was stunningly bright. At least it was to him.
"Dude, this makes me want to go adventuring in caves. Like, Lara Croft or something." Bad example, but the concept of a tomb raider was awesome! As if to prove why, he held out the glowstick like he needed it to see into a lightless area. He settled for swinging the stick this way and that, the rest of the package being safely tucked away in his pocket.
Now, Adrian Grey was not a person who could sit still for long, and he was already starting to get antsy. "Demy!" He called, suddenly jumping to his feet...and into a large puddle. "I think we need to go on an adventure. It's adventure time." The where, how and why would have to be figured out later, apparently.
"I mean, we have glowsticks and magnet ball things, I don't think we need anything else, right?!"

"An adventure? Like an AWESOME adventure? With treasure and exotic places to visit and monsters and theme music? That kind of adventure?" The boy was hopping from foot to foot, magnetic balls now vaguely resembling a beaver in his hands. ...Okay, it still kinda looked like a blob of magnetic balls. But he was working on it! It'd totally be an awesome magnetic ball sculpture of a beaver! Just you wait!
"We'd be fine! We can get food after the adventure...like..tacos! Tacos are awesome. But we sound all set for the adventure itself! ...But where are we going to adventure too? All adventures need a destination! Wouldn't be much of an adventure without one...but where to? Hrm...."
Demy took up a pace, showing off his own complete inability to sit still. The boy paced and paced...and paced some more for good measure! But for the life of him he couldn't think of a suitable place to go adventuring. Sure, there were plenty of places they could go! ....Well that Scheelite could go. Taking a civilian was another story!
"...Still thinking!'
Pace. Pace. Pacepacepace.

"Sure. Tacos later~" Adrian seemed distracted, and he was. Hmmm Where could they adventure that was not indoors, or large bodies of water? HMMM. There was a little pause, some pacing and a chintap later, Adrian was pointing dramatically at the sky, the other hand resting on his hip.
"I'VE GOT IT." He announced proudly. "Demy, my friend, have you ever been on a rollercoaster in the rain?!" Not many people did, so there was a chance the blonde had not. It was still raining, but in his experience it took a lot more rain to close down a park. Besides, the thunder and lightning seemed to have stopped after that last crack.

Tacos later was an excellent idea! Demy was just about to start bouncing around to that idea, but the sudden dramatic point to the sky had caught his attention. Oooo...dramatics, this guy could teach him a few moves!
"DUDE a roller coaster in the rain? Nope, never, but that sounds SO COOL! Let's do that! Can we? Cmon? It'll be awesome I bet and we could find other things to do there and it'll be GREAT. Let's go let's go let's go!"
Now the blonde was bouncing, right in an excited circle around Adrian. This was the bestest best idea EVER. Ever.
