He felt as though for some strange reason Fate had cornered him and was forcing him to do something that he really wanted to have no part in. To have to to go that clinic run by those fruity doctors just so that he could get his son looked at in relative safety. Relative because so long as that kid was around flaunting himself it wasn't going to be truly safe there if you asked Beald. He glanced over at Adelbert as he went into a series of sneezes before one of the feathers on his wings feel off, landing on the floor next to him which made the man wince. He wasn't sure what in the world was wrong with the kid but he couldn't really sit around and wait to find out. What if he end up completely bare of his feathers? His little wings, while rather useless, would look quite pathetic sans feathers.
"Your well aware that this was something you brought upon yourself by following her for so long when it was misting out." He scolded his son as he went to fetch his jacket, helping him into it. As though the boy would have known that he really wouldn't be able to get the attention of the woman, it was rather impossible, "Come along, get your coat one so we can go and see the Doctor."
Adelbert's eyes went a bit wide as he gazed up at his Papa, "Are you sure..? I mean... its dangerous right?" He whispered, stepping forward to get his coat on, zipping it up himself, then shifted his wings to close and flatten them against his back so that they wouldn't be noticed under his coat. From there he was given his headband to put on while the man fetched his cloak, pulling it on around himself.
"I have an idea for where we can go, a doctor that serves those like you." Even if he hated the idea of bringing Adelbert there. He just hoped that he wouldn't have to have a talk with him so early in life for why boys paired with girls and and vice versa instead of the with others of their same gender. Surely though the two doctors wouldn't be cuddling in front of their patients. He hoped that would be the case he thought to himself as he held his son to straighten out his headband before picking him up into his arms, "We will lock things up after we leave and hope that nobody bothers the place tonight, I would hate to have to come back only to beat a bunch of people into the ground." A statement that was half a lie, he wouldn't mind doing that if thieves were messing with what was his to protect, those people deserved it after all.
A moment later, Adel in one arm, and the business card in the other they were making their way to the clinic. It wasn't to terribly far from the graveyard, something that made sense since patients because corpses and went from one place to the other, so it wouldn't be a long walk. A good thing given that it was still misting out just as it had been last night and the night before. The 'fun' of Spring he supposed but unlike Beald who had a rather strong immunity against the elements Adel was still young and vulnerable, this proved as much.
It wasn't to terribly long before they arrived. He starred at he place, gave a grumbling sound about 'fruity doctors' something that Adelbert didn't understand in the least, before they were heading inside hoping that someone might be around given the hour.

"Alright Iri! Do you know what your duty is tonight?!"
"YES MA'AM!" The overly enthusiastic child responded, a headband matching his clothing wrapped around his forehead, not to hide anything, but it read "SHOW ALL THE GUSTO YOU CAN!" In his hand he held a broom. Not that this place really got all too dusty here, since it WAS a doctor's office, but still, cleaning was important!
"Good boy!" The woman before him was the nightly pediatrician, Maira, and tonight, the two were on.. Well, duty. Iri was actually given night duty due to the fact he never seemed to need to sleep. Sure, he got sleepy, but never enough to put him out for a while. He was very excited because he got to work with Maira tonight!
Maira was a pretty young woman, very bright, with Fluffy brown hair and hazy eyes~ And she was BUSTY. Like WOOOH! Look at those melons! Iri gave a little snicker whenever a male patient came in when they were on duty together. Sometimes they left in worst condition than when they came! She was very sweet though, especially with children.
Suddenly... The door rang as a rather strange pair came in. Their presence slightly disturbed Maira, and her finger was set on the button under her desk, just in case. Iri, himself, was in the back room, cleaning the examination room.
"Good Evening! How can I help you tonight?"

Beald looked at the young woman for a long moment, blinked once, then seemed unimpressed by her rather large... eyes since there were more important things to worry about at the moment. Instead he merely stepped forward toward where the woman was at the desk and held out the card he'd been given toward her, "I am looking for one of these Doctors who works in this place." He said, he was told that it was a safe place but at the same time he wasn't sure who among the staff were those who were deemed as being safe and which might report him and his son. He lowered his son down onto his feet and Adelbert leaned against him, hands lifting up to hold onto his Papa's cloak.
"He was out in the mists for to long the other night and now it seems its resulted in a cold of sorts, hes rested for two days but it continues to linger." He told the woman, as though on cue Adelbert gave a little sneeze. He lifted a hand up to rub it against his nose before stepping closer to the man so that he could cuddle under his warm cloak, eyes sinking half closed. Beald starred down at him in a worried manner before he looked back to Maira once more, "I was told there is a Doctor here I can speak with... I need one who is mentioned on this card." And it could be no other then who was on here due to the special circumstances that went along with his son.

Maira stared back at the old man, her eyes narrowing as he gazed at her. She didn't want to get nasty with him, but she was really big on the whole wandering eyes thing. But after a moment, she turned her gaze down towards her row of buttons on the desk. There were a few there, one for each of the doctors that lived in this building. One for Pime, the main surgeon, one for Uri, the psychological nurse, and then one for her. But since she was here already, there was no point in calling herself, now was there?
The child that clung to him, seemed to be a little worse for wear, and by the look of him.. He was one of the.. Feather folk. That's what she called them. Adorable beings with wings~ When the old man showed her the card, her thoughts were confirmed, and she immediately got up, and opened a door behind her.
"Ah... I see. Anyone in this facility can help your little feather child." She gave him a kind smile, then poked her head into the examination room. "Iri, can you come out here?" She called to her little assistant, giving the man a smile.
"Yes, Ma'am!" He called out again, hopping out of the room, then stopping in his tracks. It was THEM! That stupid douchebag old man who was so rude to him and his kid! He grimaced at him, but then put on his best professional face. "Good Evening... If you two could follow me, I'll go ahead and get him ready to meet the doctor.."
"Please... Take a seat on the table, and you can have a seat right there, sir, while I take his vital signs.." Iri's wings gave a bit of an agitated flutter, but he said nothing else, holding the door open.

His feather child? That must mean that she knew all about them Beald thought to himself, that was good at least though he couldn't say he was completely trusting of this place quite yet. He would be more so after they were helped, went home, and had nobody come after them. Until the man was sure to be on edge, "Alright, if you say that anyone can then I will believe you and the one that gave me the card." For now at least.
He turned as he heard a familiar and grating voice, seeing the little brat from some time ago appear in the doorway and he felt the overwhelming urge to turn around and leave so that he didn't have deal with such a child. The thought of leaving was forgotten when Adelbert gave another sneeze. Yes, he couldn't let the rude little child force him to leave, not when his son was in need to aid he thought to himself. He leaned over to pick him up when they were told to follow after the kid. So he worked here and actually did something, huh? At least he wasn't being a rude little snot when he was working, that at least showed he had some pride in his job. It didn't make up for their first meeting though, not by a long shot.
After entering the examine room he looked around, making sure that there were no open windows before he helped Adelbert out of his coat and sat him down on the examine table, "There you go, it will be alright to take this off here. Only in this room though." He added quickly, not trusting that a random person might walk into the waiting room of the clinic that might cause trouble.
Adel nodded his head, stretching his darkly colored wings out, then looked at the feathers on his arms that were always scuffed up by the sleeps of his coat. He starred at them before he set to work fixing them, smoothing them out, and doing his best to make them pretty again... a bit of an involved process but he was trying his hardest. He then turned to look at Iri, starring at him for a long moment, then looked away and up at his Papa. The both of them looked rather on edge, neither seeming to like the other, which left Adelbert being a bit nervous having to be between them, "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to get sick..." He told them both, then lifted his hands up to cover his mouth and nose as he sneezed again.

As Maira got ready to perform some tests in the chemical lab, to check for the flu virus, or any other causes of illness, Iri was stuck in the room with the old man and his kid. Luckily, he had an excuse to all but ignore the stupid old guy, and focus solely on the boy before him.
"It's not your fault, everyone gets sick.." His voice seemed so much more gentle than when they had first met. It was just something that happened when he saw someone suffering. A more motherly instinct kicked in and the urge to make everything better came before any other external strife that took place in this room.
He put on a face mask, since this wasn't a human that was sick, but another one like him, and he did not know if this was a human or bird only sickness. He then pulled over his tray of tools, and pulled out a thermometer.
"I.. Um.. I need you to hold this under your tongue.."

Despite reassurances that it was alright Adelbert didn't quite feel as though it were, still worried about the whole situation. If he hadn't gotten sick then the two wouldn't be forced to deal with one another. He just hoped that this appointment didn't take to long since he didn't want to be a burden to either one of them. When he was told to put the thermometer under his tongue he did so instantly, then went almost cross eyed trying to see what it was doing.
The expression on his son's face as he tried his best to read the thermometer himself while it was still in his mouth actually drew a smile from the old man. He lifted a hand up to sooth back back his hair again from his face though the moment he released his hair it all seemed to fall back into place, back to hanging in his face one more, "Its going to be alright, after this you will go home and go back to bed." He told him, not wanting for his son to over exert himself. He would need to go back to work though, that was the problem he was currently facing. As much as he hated leaving him alone he knew that if he didn't go to work the graveyard was in danger.
Looking back to Iri he gave the boy a long look before his attention went back to his son, "When is one of the Doctors going to arrive?" He asked of him, wanting for his son to be taken care of by a trained adult, not a child.

"That is an adorable face." Iri commented at the boy, trying to make him relax a bit as his temperature was being registered, giving him a happy smile. "It's much better than you hiding behind your grandpa."
A bit of irritation ran through him when he was pestered by the old man about when one of the doctors were going to arrive, and through gritted teeth, he responded.
"She's preparing the test. She'll be in here shortly. I am trained as well in the basics of medical care, so I'm drawing up his chart." He gave the man a dark look, took a blood pressure monitor, and held it in both of his hands. "Please roll up your sleeve to your shoulder, and stick your arm out. I'm going to measure your blood pressure now."

Adel gave a little flutter of his wings when he was told that he'd made an adorable face, looking away for a moment, then back again seeming to smile a little despite not feeling his best. Iri could... he could be nice he thought to himself though at the same time he didn't want to seem as though he were picking sides over his Papa who he loved dearly. He looked up at the man, giving him a smile as well and got a pat on the head in returned.
His attention went back to Iri once more as he said that he was trained in the basics of medical care, something that one had to be impressed with given his age. At the moment Adelbert didn't feel as though he were nearly so far along with his training and still so small that he wouldn't be terribly good at fighting if it came down to it. He wished that he could be as strong as his Papa, was determined to be in fact! As though to show him that he wasn't quite that strong yet he sneezed once more which made him give a little pout, "Stick my arm out?" He asked quietly before doing as he was told, moving his sleeve out of the way for Iri and held out his arm. His feathers were only on his forearms which allowed Iri to wrap the cuff around his upper arm though he likely wouldn't have minded either way since he was kind of used to his feathers being squished.
Beald watched his boy as he pulled up his sleeve for the other, wondering if the boy would need any shots while he was here. He hoped not since that might start with the waterworks, it wasn't something that he'd ever had to deal with before but if it would help he would be sure that Adelbert was given them despite any possible protest.

"Your wings..." Iri could see where some of his feathers had fallen out already, and it made him wince.. He wondered if it had hurt.. It seemed such a shame, to have wings, but having to hide them all the time, where as he could let his be out freely.. Sometimes things just seemed so unfair..
He shook his head, then proceeded to take his blood pressure, writing down on his chart. He then gently took the thermometer out from between the other boy's lips.
"For the first time at a doctor's office, you're doing quite well, I'm very impressed!" His voice was very chipper, truly happy with how welcoming he was, compared to his rather douchebagy father. "I'm going to go get Maira, okay? But.. Um.. Before anything else, I need to know what your name is.."

Adelbert gave a rapid flutter of his wings before giving a bit of a smile, "I have to be brave." He murmured, there was no way that he would act weak in front of his Papa even if things did worry him a little. He lifted a hand up to rub it against his arm when the cuff was removed before giving a weak little smile, "My name? I am Adelbert Ingolfr, its nice to meet you." Even if Papa didn't think so he believed that it was a good thing, because they had a place to go when he got sick, a safe place that wasn't fully of people that would hate him because of his wings.
He blinked when he was told that Iri meant to go and get Maira, he gave a nod of his head before he laid back on the examine table, stretching his arms out of his head before giving a shiver, "I'm kinda cold, Papa."He told the man, looking over at him. As much as he hated to admit to such a thing it was true and he was shivering a little.
Beald gave a smile, shrugging out of his large cloak, folded it in half, then laid it over his son that he would be kept form between now and when the woman returned. Once she was back and the examination continued he would remove the article of clothing. When it came to Adel it would seem that Beald had far more of a gentle disposition, even if he could be a little tough on him when it came to his desire to keep him safe.

"It's very nice to meet you too, Adelbert. My name is Iri Niwa... And I'll be right back, I'mma go get Maira!" He gave him a nice smile, before bouncing away, retrieving the busty doctor.
"Well now... Adel..." She commented, entering the room and taking a seat on a chair beside the bed. She did not like the smell of the cloak that the little boy had had on him.. It smelt like dampness.. And, well, death. Everyone had heard about the rant that Iri gave during his last delivery, with the grave watcher and his child, and she couldn't help but be amused when they had arrived. But the boy seemed sweet enough.
"Your vial signs look normal, though you are running a slight fever... I'm thinking that you may have the flu, but a very slight strain of if, so you'll be fine.. Open your mouth, so I can take a sample." As soon as his lips parted, she swiped a bit of saliva from his mouth with a cotton swab, and stuck it in a vial. "I'm going to run a few tests, should only take a couple of minutes. Iri?" As she stood, she called out to her assistant, who stood outside the door.
"Y-yes Ma'am?"
"Check his feathers... They seemed a little ruffled.. It seems to be due to constant rubbing against fabric, but... Take a look to make sure it's nothing more serious than that." She smiled at him, before standing up and returning to the lab for a few minutes of analyzing the sample.
Reluctantly, Iri returned to the examination room, his head bowed, embarrassed he had to do this with the child of a evil old man. He refused to make eye contact as he pulled a step stool over to the table, and stood on it, his sleeves pulled back.
"Now.. I'm going to have to look at your wings... I hope you don't mind... The doctors around here know much about our bodies and how we work, but I know about wings and feather's the most, So.. Um.. If that won't be a problem, please turn around and relax." He couldn't help but blush, since whenever someone touched his own wings, a odd feeling rose up in the base of his spine, and it caused him to let out.. Rather odd sounds. He really hoped that this boy before him didn't do the same. It would be beyond awkward, especially with his grandpa in the room!

When the woman arrived, Beald moved the cloak that was laying over his son and helped him to sit up so that he would be able to face and talk to the Doctor more easily. He fell quiet as she spoke, keeping his ears open so that he would know exactly what it was that was ailing his boy as well as what he should do to help him recover. A strain of the flu she said, likely caused by his time out in the rains he thought to himself. He would need to ban the boy from accompanying him on his rounds when the weather was poor until he was older he decided them.
Adelbert looked over at his Papa for a moment before looking back to woman as she asked him to open his mouth up so that she would be able to take a sample. The request had him starring at her in a slightly confused manner, "Sample?" He asked, watching best he could as she swabbed the inside of his mouth, wondering what it was that she was gathering up that was useful for running tests on, "What are you sampling?" He asked as she put the swab into a vial.
His attention was turned to the other boy as he was told to check Adelbert's feathers, that they looked ruffled. The boy got a worried look on his face, "Do they look that bad?" He asked, looking up to his Papa quickly, then over his shoulder trying to get a good look at his own wings which wasn't the easiest thing to do and it looked a little funny as he tried to look at his own wings. Beald lifted a hand to rest it on his head, "Relax, they aren't to bad... a few are falling out though, perhaps your molting like birds are known to do."
The idea that what was wrong was normal, a least the part about his wings, had Adel relaxing a little as Iri came over to help him, "I don't do very well at preening my wings, any help is welcome." He said, lifting his hands up to cover his mouth as he almost sneezed... then smiled when the sneeze didn't come out. He shook his head then looked over his shoulder at Iri as he came close to him and set to smoothing his feathers out, making his wings twitch and flutter behind him, finding that the touch of someone else's hand on them tickled.

"The sample was a bit of saliva. She's going to test it to make sure that it is what she thinks it is, so the medicine she will give you will make you healthy again." Iri gave him a smile, before giving him a little nudge so that he would turn more. That would make his job easier.
With skilled fingers, he smoothed his feather's down, his fingers brushing gently against the skin that they were hiding, making sure it wasn't scaley, or hiding marks or cuts.. He thought that Adel had really pretty wings, but he would never say that allowed, given his old fashioned grandpa. And as he finished his back wings, he moved to examined his arms, his fingers still just as gentle as before, and his eyes kept down to hide the blush on his cheeks.
"Ahem." Iri's head snapped up quickly as he heard Maira from the door, giving a dark blush and an 'eep!' and he hopped off of his stool, putting it back where he got it from.
"What did you see?" Maira asked of him, holding a paper bag in her arms and giving him a grin.
"H-his skin is a little dry and irritated d-due to friction, but that's all!' He chirped, going over to one of the drawers and pulling out a bottle of oil. It was a special blend his own papa had mixed up when he had the same problem. With another blush, he held it out to Adel.
"Have your grandfather put it on your skin, not on the feathers, but the actual skin underneath... It'll help prevent skin irritation from having your wings and feathers smothered all the time." As soon as Adel took the medicine from him, he darted out of the room.
"Hehe.. Seems like someone has a little crush." Maira simply shook her head, handing Beald the bag she held. "The result of the sample taken confirms that he has the flu, but just a mild strain. Inside is an antibiotic made specially for those of the feather folk. He has to take one pill ever 8 hours until they are all gone, no skipping doses, understand?"

Adel gave a slow nod of his head when he was told what it was that the nice lady had taken. It seemed a little odd to him that his spit would be able to tell anyone anything but since he wasn't a doctor he would believe the one who was that she knew what she was doing, "I see." He murmured, then let his eyes close as Iri set to work on his wings. It was quite relaxing to have someone else helping him to fix his feathers, from time to time one would come loose in the other boy's hand but it seemed that the ones he was losing were ones that were old and were going to fall out on there own soon enough anyway.
It was such a nice, content state he'd fallen into that he didn't even seem to notice the passing time until someone cleared their throat and made an 'ahem' sound, dragging his attention out of his dazed state and toward her. His eyes got a little wide as he realized that he'd almost been about to doze off while Iri tended to his wings, how embarrassing... he shook his head before looking at Iri as he started to speak, explaining that he had dry and irritated skin due to the friction but that was all. It was a good thing to learn, that he wasn't to bad off when it came to the state of his wings and skin. It was a shame that the preening session was over but at least his wings looked a little better from what he could see of them, "Thank you, Iri."
He took the oil that was handed to him, about to tell the other boy that Beald was his Papa not his Grandfather, but he was a bit late in doing so as a moment later Iri was running out of the room making Adel blink his orange eyes in momentary confusion before looking up at his Papa.
Beald gave him a reassuring look, reaching out to take the bottle of oil from him and tucked it into his pocket, "We will see about applying this when we get home." He told his boy then gave Maira a bit of a look as she said something about Iri having a crush. All the more reason to avoid this place when Adel was healthy he thought to himself, seeing no reason for why he should bring his son to a place where ever everyone seemed to be be of 'that persuasion'. He gave a snort then shook his head, "The boy is crushing on the wrong person, I am sure he will grow out of it." He said, taking the bag from the woman, tucking it away with the vial of oil, then fetched his son's coat to help him into it, wanting him to keep warm. Once he was dressed and Beald had pulled his cloak back on he asked, "How much do I owe the clinic?" He wanted to get payment squared away now so there would be no reason to come back unless Adel's illness got worse instead of better.
Adelbert crawled up to his feet on the examine table and into the man's arms, squirming his way under his warm cloak, liking how it smelled earthy and like home, and was soon dozing off in the man's arms as his Papa saw to settling the bill.
