Could you PLEASE just shut up?!
Tedan is quite a talkative person. If something can be said in two words? He'll say it in about five. Or maybe ten, that'd be even better! He's often been accused of "talking just to hear himself talk" and "run off at the mouth disease". This trait carries over to just about anything that he writes as well - so far as papers for class and such go. On one hand, he never has a problem meeting the length requirement for an assignment, but on the other, if he doesn't focus, a paper can become a huge rambling mess with little to nothing on the actual topic he should be writing about.

Dare me? Hah! I'll show you.
He loves a good challenge and anyone who meets him will learn really damn fast that he'll never turn down a dare - no matter what it is. Climb that tree over there? Sneak into the girls' locker room? Give the Professor a wedgie? Sure, why not! He'll even hide his fear of dark places and areas where he knows the dark things lurk about to fulfill a dare - such as when he willingly went into the graveyard for his fraternity's initiation. When it comes to someone telling him he can't do something, his own personal safety doesn't factor in very much.

Friends? Sure!
Tedan makes friends incredibly easily, his general personality being outgoing and sociable. He knows how to talk to people, get them to trust him and open up to him. And hey, if you're willing to talk to him and spend some time ... you're his buddy, simple as that! Deeper friendships are a little harder to come by, but those people he holds even closer. People and things that are important to him, he'll never let go of - even at the cost of his own well-being or reputation.

What'd you just say?
He's a terrible person to make an enemy of ... if you piss him off, or mess with his buddies, he'll hunt your a** down and MAKE you sorry. And he can get quite creative as to how he does that. He might just embarrass you to hell and back on Facebook. Or maybe start a fight and punch you in the face. Or start a fight then back out of it and blame you for the whole damn thing. Who knows. Most of the time the 'punishment' he picks will fit the crime in some way.

Let's go go go!
Tedan also almost always seems to be running a mile a minute - in just about everything he does. He never sits still, hardly ever is serious ... unless he has to ... loves life for the most part. His outward persona is that of an energetic well-adjusted young man who likes sports, going to movies, dating, etc. Pretty much everything your typical American college kid wants and loves.

Negativity? That's stupid!
Like everyone, there are times when Tedan gets depressed over something or upset, but most of the time he tries his best to be optimistic and positive. The football team is facing another college that's completely undefeated? Well, they'll be the ones to take them down! He got pulled over and handed a ticket? Hmn, well he'll just get out of it, or maybe beg his parents to take care of it for him. Or just make a few well-placed bets til he has the money for himself! He does miss his family and his home, but he's not typically homesick and if he gets lonely for some reason, he'll just go find something to do or someone to hang out with, so there! There's not any one particular thing that gets him down, but sometimes a lot of small things will add up since he tends to bottle up the negative emotions and not let them show or pay attention to them. I mean, what's the point?

Breakdown
When things do get to be too much for him and he finally has something of a breakdown, this tends to piss him off. He shouldn't be doing this, he should be happy and normal and well-adjusted dammitall! This sort of attitude often leads him into a downward spiral for anywhere from a few hours to a few days, causing him to hide out somewhere and beat himself up for being depressed, while not really doing much of anything to alleviate said depression. He knows that he SHOULD probably call someone, or yank himself out of the funk somehow, but he's too busy being mad about it, and trying to figure out how this happened in the first place. Eventually he will pull out of it on his own, but oftentimes one of his friends will notice and come help him out by inviting him to go do something with them. Because once he's with other people and 'back in his element', so to speak, it's easier for him to forget what he was so upset about.

Underneath it all ...
However, beneath the surface, Tedan is really quite frightened of a lot of things. He wants to have as normal a life as possible, but he knows things. He knows that there is evil out there, and it's not something that the religion prevalent in the Southern U.S. can explain. Tedan actually went to church for about a year trying to figure out why this had happened to him, praying for the 'demons' to go away. But when it didn't work and he still sensed things in the darkness he dropped the idea and pretended it never happened. He also knows that if any of his friends found out how 'weird' he was, they would probably drop him just as quickly and he'd become the freak of the school. This is why he's extremely careful to keep up the front he's built up over several years of a 'normal' college kid.

When you see past the mask ...
Tedan has gotten pretty good at hiding his fear of things over the years, but there are times when his control of his normal-mask breaks. He's convinced himself that he can handle anything, though this false confidence can definitely get him into trouble. Something like what happened in the graveyard just before his recruitment is a good example - he went out and challenged something he really had no business challenging him and the result was that his fear got eaten up and left him a wreck for a while. Mostly, he tries to brush off the teasing and jibing of friends if something like this happens, but if it continues he'd react in one of two ways. One way would be to try and 'prove' that even if he jumped or screamed or whatever, he's not scared of that NOW and he's certainly not some kind of weird freak! Which means he'll go do the same thing again, despite the consequences. Sometimes it works, sometimes it totally backfires on him. Alternately, after a while he'll just retreat to his room and hide until those ribbing him find something or someone else to be amused by.

Ardavan:
Can't we just chill?
Extremely lazy, Arda would prefer to simply lie around and do nothing at all. If Tedan wants anything from him, he has to cajole and coax and threaten for at least a few minutes before the weapon will listen and do what he's asking. If Arda was a person, he'd be the type to lie around in bed all day and channel-surf whilst munching on junk food because that's all there is in the house. He doesn't understand why Tedan can't just relax like that. What's with the bouncing around and training and missions all the time? Just chill out!

Hey! None of that now ...
The exception to this 'rule' comes about whenever someone or something threatens Tedan. At that point, Arda actually gets off his a** and DOES something, usually something very effective. Ardavan obviously is quite loyal to Tedan and would do just about anything in his power to protect or help him if need-be. The problem lies in getting the weapon to see that there is a reason for him to do something.

You lied to me AGAIN?!
Because of the above trait, Tedan has been known to manufacture 'threats' or try to convince the weapon he's in more danger than he actually is, simply to get the damn thing to help him. You'd think at some point Ardavan would figure out how to tell when Tedan's faking it, but he never can. Perhaps this is just a blind spot, or maybe he trusts his wielder just a little too much at times. However, even when he is lied to, Arda doesn't seem to mind it too much. It's almost as if he wants to be more active but simply can't find the motivation for it on his own.

Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? He really does NOT like the fact that humans are used as food, and he's tired of living in fear all his life of the things in the dark that he can sense, but not see. After the events of the metaplot, he also feels strongly that he should try to protect the friends that he made then, and even those who killed him and may not like him - because he might just be strong enough to do it, and there are others who may not be as strong.

Is there a way to add more to Tedan's personality or to Ardavan that will flesh them out a bit better?

Oou, good question! Hmmn, it would probably depend on what the secret was and how much someone emphasized THIS IS A SECRET. XDD

He probably wouldn't get that sort of vibe of 'hey don't spread this around' from someone just saying something in private or whatever if they didn't specifically -tell- him not to mention it. lol.

It's still entirely likely that he would accidentally blurt out someone's secret just because his mouth is running away with him. But if he did, he'd feel pretty bad about it and try to cover for himself. He'd also go apologize ... at some point. Or maybe hope the person didn't notice, SOMEHOW or other.

I'm kinda in the same boat D: You've been so thourough that I can't find anything to crit >< But his weapon sounds like tons of fun xDDD

how does he deal with people that are not very smart? or people that are unintentionally rude?
- He might very well tease people who are just ... dumb, but most of it wouldn't be incredibly mean. If the person realized they were being teased, he might back off, or keep going - depending on how much fun he was having at the time. XD
- Unintentionally rude people well ... he'd had to know, somehow, that it was unintentional. Otherwise, he'd probably jump to conclusions and go after their a**. If he knew they didn't mean it, though, it's likely he would try to correct them real damn quick (probably with a lot of babbling and explanation how they could do it better)

-- What would he do if the dare he was given was something negative (like, uh, maybe spray-painting an art project he knew one of his friends had taken forever on) or something that could actually hurt someone (like rigging up a pail of water over someone's door but being told to leave off anything that would hold the bucket from falling/crashing painfully into the victim's head?) ?
- It would prooobably depend on who these people were. If it was doing something to hurt one of his friends, he probably wouldn't go for it. But if he thought there was a way to pull it off without the hurt, he might still do it. Bucket crashing into someone's head that he didnt' know or wasnt' friends with though ... that could be pretty amusing

-- It mentions he makes friends with just about everyone, so does that include someone he knows has bullied others, although not himself or any of his friends? (Or would that person just go straight into the 'enemy' catagory?)
- A known bully would most likely get 'filed' under enemy, unless they did something like come up and be friendly to him at the start ... he's not exactly shallow, but someone that is willing to be nice to him or his friends upon first impression, he'd probably consider a "friend". It's really more like acquaintance XD;; And if the person then later did something to piss him off or hurt another of his friends, I could see him turning on that person pretty easily. It'd be a bigger deal if it was someone he was closer to/had a deeper friendship with, but those are kinda rare with him anyway. It's those deeper friendships that he's really stubborn about, more than the acquaintance-level friends.
