Physical Description: She's very inconspicuous in appearance with her non-descriptive brown eyes, small stature and endowment, and long sun-bleached blonde hair. And it doesn't help her looks with a hawk nose that gives her an appearance of a strong stubbornness and judgement. She knows these only help her be overlooked by someone else much prettier than her, but to top it off she has scars to mar her even more—one across her right cheek and a few on her forearms from working in the fields. Since she's aware of these flaws, she tries a bit too hard to be more noticeable by putting flowers in her hair and sometimes wear her latest perfume creation heavily.
Personality: Kelin is quite happy to go along with someone's plan than to come up with one of her own. But you can count on her doing her part to the best of her ability even if she'll be doubting herself the entire time. Well, so long as the plan won't get her into any form of trouble with others. She is extremely sensitive to criticism, so often tries to follow others' lead.
She enjoys being included with the crowd, just off in the shadows in the presence of someone better than her. However, she can come off as a bit clingy with her loyalty that might cause her to be cast out for a time. She really does not like being alone simply to avoid her own self-deprecating thoughts. She is socially awkward when prompted to speak and is much more comfortable in silence.
History: Kelin was the fourth child born to crafters Keya and Lindon near a larger minor hold that looked to Paradise River Hold . She dealt with a lot of competition among her four other siblings, often being ridiculed by the elders when she fell short of their expectations. She was even the measuring stick of their holder's daughter, Casswin. But it was nice to be included with the beautiful hold daughter, even if she was just as mean as her older siblings about her faults.
When she was of age to pursue a craft, her parents encouraged her to follow suit in farming. She was sent with a few other youngsters to learn under one of the farm masters at another hold. The Master was not a very forgiving man and sometimes resorted to heavy-handed punishments to help drill the lesson through thick-headed apprentices. Unfortunately, Kelin took the brunt of most of these physical lessons and it shows in the scars she bears, nor did they help with her already weakened self-confidence.
However, she learned to appreciate the smells of blossoming plants that would produce ripening fruit. Sometimes, she would sneak a few flowers to try to capture the smells in bottles. She began to dabble more in the art of perfume than focusing on her farmcraft duties, which would lead to more heavy-handed reprimands. Since she spent more time dabbling in a "frivolous" craft, she was never able to pass Journeymen.
