So... Here's my story.
I used to watch my older cousin play starcraft 1 forever ago.. He tried to teach me, but I never did learn. I've always loved watching him play rather than playing the game myself... (He was a pro-gamer at one point..)
Either way, my love for video games of all kinds did not die... In fact, I'm still obsessed, as most of you probably are too.
I just recently started playing Starcraft 1, and though I am not all too good at it yet... I think the Korean blood in me beacons for me to play more.
I am new at the whole thing, but when I went to a PC room with a few of my friends a few weeks ago, they told me that I know how to play the game more than I think that I do... I thought I had beginners luck?
Either way, I am slowly falling victim to Starcraft and its amazing gameplay and features... Though I do not play Starcraft II (due to a failsauce computer and an inability to buy new things right now)... I do watch a lot of GSL on GomTV.
I would love to learn how to play better, but I'm a girl who gets uber game rage when things don't work out (aka, I get really discouraged when I lose...)...
Aaaanyways, enough of my rant. Lets be friends! :3

I grew up with Sc1 and BW, I don't think I have ever played a game as much as I played it, though I mostly played custom games and never on a competitive level, I have taken advantage of SC2 to take the game to a more serious level.
Glad to have you aboard even if you're not able to play sc2 with all of us, just having another person, with interest in the community and the pro scene is awesome enough.

C4D I grew up with Sc1 and BW, I don't think I have ever played a game as much as I played it, though I mostly played custom games and never on a competitive level, I have taken advantage of SC2 to take the game to a more serious level. Glad to have you aboard even if you're not able to play sc2 with all of us, just having another person, with interest in the community and the pro scene is awesome enough. Same with me, my childhood was Starcraft (bw), Diablo (2 [lod]), and Natural-Selection (FPS Half-life 1 mod) I still wish I could import the sounds from sc1 to 2 >_<

well learning how to play better isn't simply a matter of observation. it takes some dedication and experience to actually learn how to play better, but observations while you watch can be a large stepping stone. otherwise I find it impressive that you take the time to watch GSL and stuff. lots of players who want to get better fail to actually meet this certain aspect of improvement.
if you play, though, I'm sure you will improve. but anyways, welcome to the guild. i hope you'll like it here.

You just reminded me of Day 9's Funday Monday : Audience Improv... He's pretty biased to SC1 also.. I love his ability to explain the difference between the overlords in SC1 and SC2. x3

Give me a scene with only sound effects, and I could tell you exactly what is going on. Maybe that's bad... but either way, I miss my old zerg screams and death sounds. Not this piddly chirp and popping noises we get now. And why the ******** don't marines/rauders enjoy the stim packs? I miss hearing them ******** screaming "AHHHHH YEAHHHH, AHHHH THAT'S THE STUFF" whenever they got stimmed, now it's just this.... air pressure sound. Another one I reallllly hate. Listen to the HT in SC1, and then 2. WHAT THE ******** HAPPENED? .... <_<;; God damn, the sounds in sc2 are good, but they hold no ******** cup to SC1 sounds. I miss them so. I miss the overmind telling me to spawn more overlords too. Instead of a queen. edit- just remembered, I had the hardest time coming to terms with their design on the zergling. In starcraft 1, the zergling had it's hind legs to propel them forward, and their front two legs were their scythe weapons, while they had little arms on the top. Then in war3 they recycled the felhound model. I was a little mad, but just figured it was a re-use, so no biggie. But when they announced SC2, and I saw that damn zergling with four legs, I ******** flipped s**t. Just look at that gif, and look at the supposed front legs and his arms on top. The front legs are clearly two different parts, where the end piece looks like a weapon, not a foot.  Found this image in a search, and it clearly shows what I'm talking about. <_<;;

It had some pretty great ones, especially the RP ones. War3 holds the current cup for best custom games at the moment imo. SC2 will eventually trump it, but currently, war3 still has the best custom games. Especially since game developers spawned spinoffs of custom games from war3.

Krysania Eramos Onos It was one of the only things I was good at in my childhood <_<;; , and the zerg were my favorite =3. Mine too! Seems like the zerg is the only class I'm actually decent at in SC1... I couldn't play terran worth my life in SC1, and I'm still bad at in sc2, but I've figured out a general build with them that gets me through most of my games when I random them >_<. Zerg was my best in sc1 though. In SC2 though, it's a 50/50 on toss and zerg. I do great late game as toss, but terrible early, and vice versa as zerg <_<;;. Terran is just there, and I either just barely win, or lose horrible D=.
