HEY HEY HEY!HEY KIDS, LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF THE META and we'll reward you with an exclusive minipet! Please provide CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, ideas you would like to see in the future, and things that worked and did not work for you!
WE REALLY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR:
- The event was too confusing because it had too many rules ((what it reads to us as: I cannot read :S )) - The event had too much going on because this is exactly what a ******** Meta does. - I quit the event because I got lost ((QQ Moar)) - I want more freebies why not more freebies bawww
But instead your CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK on things that could be added, improved, and most importantly, what you would like to see in FUTURE events and the likes. The staff put seriously weeks and weeks of work into this, and would like to thank all of you for sticking through this ride and making it just freaking amazing. While the next event lurks around the corner sometime late Summer, for those already with a character or even questing, be sure to check out some of the in-thread stuff and regular RP events we have planned to wrap up the Meta. - The meta only INTRODUCES the beginning of something extraordinary, after all.
Answers to some questions that have appeared ~
Quote: The Puzzles in Part 1: These were unfinished due to time constraints, originally they were intended to give the students the password to the portals, so they could reach the Dark Cove. We ended up replacing them in the end with the look-on-the-back-of-the-map puzzle. Items won't be ending with the event, however, and I think some of you may like what the next items are. The Pendants in Part 2: The pendants served two purposes, to give people a "luck" chance at winning a Hunter, and to help create the limited survival scenario that we felt was needed in order for most characters to ICly begin to view reach other as enemies. But why the brutal violence, anyways? Generally, we try to keep TiH fairly lighthearted, and this was quite different in tone from the Christmas battles. But the Battle Royale scenario fit best with the more serious setting we were trying to create with the Island Event. It also served several purposes both ICly and OOCly. ICly, this was a test of your characters willingness to go into battle, to fight, to survive at all costs. It was a test of mental strength and flexibility, and how well your character could adapt to dangerous situations. Basically, the Hunter reps were testing to see if your character could handle becoming a Hunter as well. OOCly, this was to help up look at players, and their understanding of the Daisy Code, because Hunters are a battle oriented faction. Much more so than regular TiH students. Hunters will get into fights, hopefully lots of them. Their s**t will get heavy, and we need to know that the people playing them know to separate IC from OOC when these conflicts occur. What you were judged on: Activity, Daisy Code, Solo, Quantity of (if any) Head-to-Desk Moments Time Zones: OTL...we're still working on this, but rejoice! Zoo is no longer working in China, and now is able to keep normal daylight hours. So that's 1/3 of the admin team who can help peeps with normal hours. I work full-time and hate to wake up until I absolutely have to, so you're all still stuck with me (this is lizbot btw) firmly in the wee hours. Maru is a troll. Look for her when least expected and most perilous. The Traitor: Caed was just trolling them, and watching to see how they would react. (Though he could give any number of spins and interpretations on this, to justify his jerkassery, trolling was at the heart of it.)

To post your crit, please use this! My Minipets Name: (how else will get get you your pet? Feedback:
When writing your crit, don't forget to ask yourself why. The stuff we don't want to hear isn't enough! "I quit the event because I got lost." Okay. And? What are we supposed to take from that? A much better response would be: "I quit the event early because I got lost. Would it be possible in the future to include a timeline of events?" It's MUCH better, as it lets us know that SOMEONE out there would like a timeline. Would it help? Maybe. But then again, the cellphone announcement thread was pretty much a timeline and already in place. razz Not to mention we had a QnA thread and a really active event thread. When in doubt, ask questions! If not a GM a fellow player might know. <3 IN ADDITION if you're not comfortable posting your feedback publicly, feel free to PM me (Marushii) OR send me a message on the minis site.

My Minipets Name: Rabid Ice Weasel Feedback: First off, the event was awesome and the staff worked hard and amazingly and it went over very well!
but of course everyone has their bitchy opinions. > A>
I was kind of confused in most games I played, not for the amount of rules but a lack of clarification. The staff handled it REALLY WELL but I think the more specifics the better. Also, I'm not sure setting people against each other was the best kind of bonding? At times it got really violent and kind of disturbing, like beating people to death with your bare fists and some... excessively gory death-posts. I didn't like having to "kill" people I wanted to make friends with, as opposed to working toward some common goal (that wasn't being 1 of 13 out of 90). I mean, I understand it's Halloween and all, but we had the understanding our character was human from the beginning, and dead tends to mean dead, blood tends to spurt, and while I don't think anybody really cared come the end with the promise of amazing ICness, while it was going on it was pretty hinky.
UM. but that's it. Less killing each other would be neat, but everything ran pretty smoothy, all things considered (size of event and such) <3
WILL TOTALLY BE AROUND FOR FUTURE METAing

Feedback: Okay first of all: THANK YOU heart You guys put soo much effort in and all my loves are belong to you. Honestly it was a struggle to find criticism because everything was handled well. Hmm... One thing that would help, though is that this thread moves very fast and in the title of the thread it often has 'News page (insert number)' and it would probably be easier if it was in the news section of the first page? That's all I can think of right now :> THANK YOU STAFFERS THIS EVENT WAS AWESOME.

My Minipets Name: Beejoux Feedback: Absolutely loved the premise for the meta and the lead up to it (Boat rides! Very fun) Things were at times a little confusing, at least with those of us with two characters participating, on what to do once they reached the island, but once I figured it out I had a blast! It was dramatic, it was suspenseful, it was heartbreaking. It hit so many angles!
I'm still a we bit hazy on the fog, and the children, though that could just be me not understanding something that should be more obvious. But all in all I had a blast in part 1!
I didn't participate in part two becauseI already have two students, and I really wanted to give other's a chance to get their first or second, and I didn't have a whole lot of time(RL eating me). From what I saw and read though it seemed to go really smooth, and everyone had a blast!

My Minipets Name: Bilious Feedback: OKAY SO LIKE. I absolutely loved it. I thought it was great pitting eachother against ourselves, personally. The whole thing was a great stewpot of character creation on the spot with the set up of THEY WILL PROBS DIE so you can try to not get too attached but everyone seemed to grow fond of their on-the-spot creations anyway. A GOOD SIGN IMO. mrgreen The things that got me lost/confused weren't the fault of the shop and honestly what didn't kill me MADE ME STRONGER. Just when I thought you guys couldn't top Christmas.... my god!
For the future, I suppose the only suggestion I have is don't burn yourselves out trying to outdo this one IT WAS A DOOZY. XD <333 Absolutely excited to see how this turn of events in the overall TiH storyline goes! Really was a fan of the "blank slate" character approach too, and while it really worked perfectly for this storyline, I'd love to see more openings for quest characters to RP too. I really liked that aspect we had in the Christmas event. BUT HONESTLY it all depends on what you guys are plotting and what works with what will happen so! smile <3
Keep up the good work guys!

My Minipets Name: Sosiqui Feedback: IT WAS FUNNNNNNN, so funnnn *A* I'mma split up my crit into two separate bits, for each part of the meta~
One overall thing: I noticed there were several concepts established at the beginning of the meta - in both parts - that fell by the wayside or were changed without much fanfare or notice. Like in Part One the map/item/yada thing, and in Part Two the pendant = DEFINITELY VALUABLE/A STUDENT OOCly thing. I can understand modifying things if you realize they're untenable, totally! But it was kind of confusing? idk?
PART ONE: My only criticism for this was for the boat ride section - the activity between the boats was a little uneven. For example, in the boat I was in, our Trick-or-Treater never once posted, while other boats had very active NPCs (both professors and ToTers). The boat I was in actually never wrapped up at the end, either - as far as I know the final activities never got judged. BUT, that said it was still a lot of fun on the boats, and the Island was an absolute blast. Once everyone got off the boats it was FLAWLESS VICTORY.
... And death. Yes.
PART TWO: I would second childs' request for news etc.? A lot of the OOC news, I felt, wasn't disseminated quite as effectively as the IC news. But other than that, I think it worked pretty well. All the events I took part in ran smoothly and I had a great time. biggrin It was really intense, yes, indeed~ but I don't think that was a bad thing!
The only worry I had was that the intensity of it was geared towards... hmm... every man for himself, and making small tight-knit groups? Which worked out okay for me, since my group had some friends of mine in it from the start, but I can see how it could be really intimidating for newbies?
But the overall plot was fantastic. A little rough getting there but the reveals all made it SO WORTH IT. <3
In short: A+ WOULD META AGAIN, thank you so much for all your hard woooooooooork. *w* I can't believe how much you guys put into this. CAN I BAKE YOU COOKIES??

My Minipets Name: Sephiros Feedback: My only real beef with the event would be that, as has already been mentioned previous, I didn't feel that there was enough clarification. Both in in-thread games, but also as well as just what we were being judged on in the event itself. I felt particularly nervous knowing that I was performing, but not knowing what exactly were the things being scrutinized by the staff. Overall, however, it was fun! I enjoyed RPing with everyone. Though yes, less killing each other would have been good, as it established a rather clannish (and occasionally cliquish) environment, and I know a lot of newbies still felt overwhelmed and unwelcome in the RP itself. Though the event thread did a good job compensating for that, for the most part.

My Minipets Name: here Feedback:The event was great, the idea's fantastic, the friendliness was ok... Possibly make sure all the link were included on the front page. The front page though it said would link back to the main thread, did in no way actually link back. That's just my bitchy OCD talking though. And my lazy searching skills XD

My Minipets Name: Eight Feedback: I loved this event, it was fun and active and allowed for us to do things we wouldn't get to do often in other places (Like Orestae having her character climb up the tail of one of the horses). And I liked that the staff was able to keep things active throughout the day and not just at certain hours of the day, basically screwing over people who couldn't always be around at those times because of work, life, etc. <333
The only thing I can think of as far as crit would have been a small refresher of rules during certain events every now and then. In Last Man Standing I believe one of the prompts said "Same rules apply as last time" but then people misunderstood what that meant, or they misunderstood the rules from last time at all and thus jumped down the throat of someone who they thought was messing up but really wasn't. Anything else I can think of would be a "personal QQ", as in it was something that was my own fault that could have been avoided if I wasn't stupid. <3 I much preferred this event's mechanics/execution over the Christmas one, because I didn't feel like I was missing everything of importance because of this stupid bodily function called "sleep".

My Minipets Name: Zee Feedback: First of all, I loved this event. You took the Christmastown event and made it HOMG so much bigger. I think it was handled very well despite the relatively small number of mods, and I just have a few points. WHO WAS THE TRAITOR? asdkfkngalkgnadkjdk Okay, it's a small thing, but E1 died in that game, and I really wanna know! Now, I'll be serious. I think what could have been done better was characters being stuck in the lounge upon dying. While alive, there were many places to travel to, and having the large number of participants broken down into groups really helped control how much traffic went through one area. However, when they died, they only went to one place, which meant a lot of people trying to continue rping with different groups all at once. And if your character died early on, that meant you were mostly stuck in that one location, unless a gm did something. Maybe there could have been separate rooms for the groups, or perhaps, upon dying, the character would just go directly to the solo, but the rper could come back like the Stigma zombie squad? Cause I seriously loved the idea of the gms using the dead players against the surviving ones. It was a change of pace, and it was a lot of fun. Most importantly, THANK YOU FOR THE EVENT!

My Minipets Name: iloveyouDIE Feedback: I participated just in Part 2.. but I was reading Part 1 as it went on.
I found the storyline to the event to be REALLY cool and things that confused me ended up panning out nicely by the end.
I found some of the dice games got really chaotic and confusing. As a player we ended up having to make charts and things to follow to keep track of what was going on. The AMOUNT of people in Part 2 was a little intimidating and the names got confusing as well, but as players we seemed to adapt well with the nicknames.
I think the staff did a GREAT job of keeping on top of games, tasks and the Q&A thread. All problems were worked out smoothly and promptly. I know this event was quite an undertaking for you guys. I don't know if it sounds like whining or stupid (cause it's not something that can be helped really) but it seems like certain time zones were at a disadvantage when it came to responding to Tasks or Tests. Of course this didn't quite matter (since everybody diiiiiies!) but I did see some players just sit in an area and roleplay against themselves or one other person for a couple days without any sort of monster attack or making it into a Task because they were filled up.
Overall it was AMAZING and FABTASTIC. It was quite a stretch for me to really find anything to criticize (cause timezones can't be helped!).
It was my first event here and I was impressed beyond belief!

My Minipets Name: Alania Feedback: This event was, hands down, the best event I've ever been a part of. There was a lot of thought and effort put into this thing and it shows. My biggest worry is that there will never be a way to top this because you guys rocked it so hard you just ended all of B/C. All of it.
That in mind, here is some feedback on little things I noticed. First of all, Part 1 was ridiculously well run. I think the only reason Part 1 ran smoother than Part 2 was because of the amount of people. You guys already know that Part 2 had too many people so I don't really need to feedback that 'cause I know it's not gonna be an issue in the future XD But yeah, Part 1 was probably the best RP I've ever had, it was amazing. Part 2 was only iffy because of the amount of people involved, and how troublesome that can get.
Specifically my one complaint (if it can even be called that) is that when setting up an event RP, and needing sign ups, I know it's cleaner for you guys when people make one post and then don't post again - but that ends up leaving an entire day where people are 'frozen in time' and not allowed to do anything. Which is really frustrating and boring. So I'd say have a sign-up thread but allow people to continue RPing in the thread they were in previously (aka, don't pull them out of their thread to sign up. An OOC sign-up thread open for 24 hours, followed by then pulling those people into the new thread so they can RP, could work.)
Uhh I hope that was clear, idek. XD I ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHO THE TRAITOR WAS. Not finding out at the end was heartbreaking. ):
Let's see.. I seriously can't think of anything else. I'm still confused how you guys managed to do ALL THAT WORK, it was mind boggling. You aren't human.

My Minipets Name: kuromizuki. Feedback: The event started off very interesting and very fun. I really enjoyed the boats (even though Ren got thrown overboard twice; HE IS NOW TRAUMATIZED THANKS TO PROFESSOR BLUE) and the interaction that we were able to have between characters we might not have met otherwise. I think it gave people a chance to allow their characters to expand their relationships, friendships, and build up their characters. The island was a bit rougher, darker, and more intense - I had a lot of fun with it (even though Ren died early on LOL), and overall I thought the first half of the meta was fantastic. It gave me a lot to work with when it came to really developing Ren's character, which was awesome, because the way he grew depended a lot on what happened in the first half of the meta.
The second half of the meta threw me for a loop at the start, though I enjoyed being able to roleplay a character that I hadn't really considered. While I enjoyed being able to attack people (heck, fight scenes are awesome and fun to write) what I found to be a little frustrating was the entire PvP setup. I totally understand the reasoning behind it and that the staff took a LOT of time and energy setting things up (which I totally applaud and commend you for; it was crazy how detailed everything was). I had a really hard time with the fact that people were basically gang attacking others as a strategy. A lot of people to the chance to group together and basically kill off whoever was in their way, which Icly is pretty interesting, but OOcly it was a little bit of a downer. I think it also created a lot of tension between everyone, whether intentional or unintentional, because a lot of it was turned towards who killed who and who was grouped with who. It kinda created a sort of...inclusive atmosphere at times? If that makes sense. xD;; This kinda goes along with what Seph said in her post: "Though yes, less killing each other would have been good, as it established a rather clannish (and occasionally cliquish) environment, and I know a lot of newbies still felt overwhelmed and unwelcome in the RP itself." And yes, I realize this might come off as QQ'ing LOL but it's really not meant to. xDD;;
And this really isn't meant to rag on anyone; I grew to love my character in the second half despite the rocky start, and I know a lot of people really did as well. Seriously you guys are an amazing staff and it's incredible how deeply you guys thought through this and how detailed and intense it was. The artists are absolutely, ridiculously wonderful and I can't believe how hard everyone on the TiH staff worked on this. I don't even know how you guys managed to keep things so together and so organized. I'm really glad I got to be a part of it!
TL;DR: Maybe a little less PvP killing/grouping and you guys are AWESOME. My mind is still blown at how you guys pulled this off. <3

My Minipets Name: Blade kurodaFeedback: First off, I LOVED this meta event. So many little things to the story and I had a blast going back and seeking out past clues/foreshadowings that pointed towards stuff going on now. It lead to a lot of speculations and theories thrown about through AIM on the who's, what's and why's. XD And there's still so many things we've yet to learn! It's an exciting frontier I guess you could say to see what little twists and turns will come of the story. Both parts were amazing and a blast to take part in and you guys are epic to have thought up and put it all together and whatnot. I'm with Zee to an extent on the lounge stuff. While the lounge had its own amazing shenanigans, there were still only so much we could do, especially during the earlier stages when there were't as many people there at the time.
