((Yes, I'm writing a nulocke story....I thought I'd spice up the challenge a little and add some of my own rules to it. Hopefully I get out alive! 3nodding ))

Prologue: Start!

Why did I want to start a journey? I was bored.

Pallet Town is boring as of late. There's nothing to do, and nothing exciting ever happens here. Even playing any of my Nintendo systems couldn't keep me entertained fully. I longed for the excitement of the fight, and the thrill of the chase. I wanted adventure and I felt that Pallet Town was holding me back.

So after school let out for the summer, I decided to run off for a bit.

((Short prologue is short. Don't get on my back on it. Anyways review. cool ))

Chapter One: Eye of the Beholder

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Lao Tzu

I walked downstairs and saw my mother watching TV, as usual. The movie The Wizard of Oz was on, and I happened to walk into the room as the part in the movie where Dorothy started walking to the Emerald City on the Yellow Brick Road. I told her that I was going outside. "Okay, honey. Be careful." She said, shrugging. Mom always told me one day I'd end up going off on an adventure, but she always said it in an un-amusing tone. It's been this way since my dad left. Slowly, I walked out of my house and toward Professor Oak's lab to meet Ghost. I opened the door slightly.

"Ghost-kun? Where's your Grampa?" I asked from the door.

"Not here." he replied. 'Ghost' was the professor's grandson. On his shoulder I could see his trademark Rattata squeaking in greeting. "Alright, I'll be back." I muttered, closing the door.

I walked out to the grass near Route One. I loved the grass here. It was so plush and soft to the touch - I often found myself petting the tufts on more than one occasion, but I remember the familiar warning I was told as a child: "Don't go into the grass. There are wild pokemon out there that can kill you."

Oh! Who's that?

It was a boy my age, shyly looking at me. He looked as if he were from a rich family, but there was something off- the way he dressed was as if he was from the early 20th century and his eyes appeared to be lifeless.

I knew he was in danger as well, because of the wild pokemon roaming about. "Stay there! I'll get help!" I cried, running back to the lab. My mind raced at this point, because I was trying to piece together an alibi to tell the professor.....if he was there. I looked back for a moment to see if that boy was okay, but he was gone.

I opened the door and walked in. Screw it. I thought. The boy might have walked away, so I might as well get a pokemon here anyway.I saw the professor at his desk talking with Ghost. I kept trying to word out my request in my head, so I could at least sound smart.

"Hello, professor?" I asked. At the same moment, a lab tech wielding a broom headed towards one of the bookcases, which appeared to be...shaking?

"Oh, Satoko. You're out late." the professor responded.

Slightly fazed by the awkward and hilarious moment, I walked over to the table where -usually- three pokeballs sat. One of them however......

"Geesh, Satoko. You came at an awkward time. One of Gramps' pokemon is loose in the lab." Ghost told me. ".....Well, that explains the open pokeball on the table." I answered.

"Now, Gary, there's no such thing as 'an awkward time'." Professor Oak explained, which made Ghost snort in defiance of hearing his real name. "Any reason you're here, Satoko?" the professor added.

Crap. "I...wanted...to start a journey...so I was wondering.....if I could please have a pokemon?" I asked, feeling nervous and awkward.

Way to go, Satoko. Way to go.

"I suppose so. Go ahead and pick a pokeball from that-"

A crash from a bookcase being knocked the ground interrupted Professor Oak mid-sentence. The lab tech with the broom backed up quickly from the fallen bookcase. "Sweet Kyogre!" he swore. "That charmander is a handful!" Sure enough, a faint light flickered behind another bookcase.

"You mean he's had a relapse or something?" Ghost asked.

"I don't know, one of the chimchar we got from Sinnoh decided to bully him and he freaked out!" The lab tech replied.

"Oh my, we have to do something..." the professor whispered.

I had no idea what was going on, but I inched towards the fallen bookcase and tried to lift it up.

"For the love of Arceus, Satoko! You're too weak to push that thing up. Let me do it!" Ghost yelled at me. I rolled my eyes in response. Ghost could be an arrogant b*****d at times, but he really does care on the inside. His rattata had jumped onto Oak's computer as Ghost stomped over to the bookcase and grabbed the other side to lift it up. The rattata watched us trying to lift the damn thing up. Somehow, both of us managed to place the dang thing upright.

Afterward, I peeked behind the other bookcase. The charmander was huddled in the middle of the crevice, his back to me and shaking in fear. "Hello, there." I said. The charmander glanced at me. His face was criss-crossed with scars and was expressing fear. "It's okay, I won't hurt you, come here...." I said soothingly. The charmander cocked his head. "Was that man with the broom scaring you? Come here, it's all right...." I wasn't being mean to anyone, but if I were hiding I'd wouldn't want someone trying to poke me with a giant broom.

Finally, the fire lizard inched his way toward me and soon, he allowed me to pick him up and cuddle him. "Shhh, it's alright. You'll be alright." Despite the scars on his face, I found him adorable. "Professor, I think I'll take the charmander." I said, petting the charmander to calm him down.

"Ah....It seems like a fine choice. This one hasn't had a good life. He used to be owned by a very cruel trainer, and the experiences he had with the trainer caused him some lasting trauma." Professor Oak explained. "When the police force found this charmander, he was nearly beaten to death. It took months for him to recover, but ever since he has been wary of both pokemon and people." I shivered; I was someone who hated abuse, but the fact my pokemon was abused nearly to death made me agitated.

I walked up to the table, picked up the charmander's pokeball and whispered quietly; "I swear, if I find that trainer....."

The charmander shook in fear; it must have overheard me. "It's okay, I'm not mad at you." I said calmly. "I promise I'll take good care of you......"

Damn. Forgot to nickname him. Mentally, I tried to figure out a name and quickly blurted out the following question to the charmander-

"Do you mind I call you John DeFoe?"

The charmander nodded. I think the name suited him; I was a bit of a horror buff and I thought the name was good for a charmander- at least....this one.

Besides- he wasn't exactly handsome, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I was about to walk out with my new charmander when......

"Hey, Satoko! Let's battle right now!" Ghost shouted.

Aw, crap.

((Chapter two will be posted next. Basically, this is the start to my Nuzlocke challenge, where I got my pokemon. I also made the rival character less of a douche than he normally is-but there will be no playerXrival romance.

Also, enigmatic boy is enigmatic.

Team at this point:

John DeFoe- Charmander (♂) lv.5, Hasty nature

shut up I can name my starter after an indie horror character if I want to-er...basically I named my charmander after one of the antagonists of the XDaS series because it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yes, I am aware I'm a fangirl. sweatdrop

Okay review now. No flames and all that.))

Chapter 2: To Viridian and.....Okay, Maybe Just Viridian

"The few days I wanted to go to school, fate decided to say; 'Screw you, you're staying home.' "-Pikachu-Kitty

I had stopped in my tracks when I heard Ghost challenge me. The only pokemon I knew that he had was his Rattata, and it was more of pet than a battling pokemon.

"'Kay.....go, John DeFoe!" I said, watching as the charmander walked in front of me timidly.

"Go, Tsunami!" Ghost said, throwing a pokeball in front of himself. A squirtle was released from the it and the water pokemon froze in a battle stance.

Typical Ghost. Shoot first, ask later is his attitude. I was a little surprised since I didn't when he had got the turtle pokemon......but now was not the time to ask.

I rolled my eyes and said, "John, use scratch." John DeFoe rushed foward and slashed Tsunami on his (or her) shell. "Tsunami, tackle him." Ghost retorted. Tsunami ran and hit John with mild force.

This kept going until Tsunami became exausted and fell on his back. I was worried I may have killed Ghost's pokemon, but Tsunami dizzily sprang back up.

"Heh, I don't think I picked the wrong pokemon, but I think you have a strong charmander on your hands." Ghost complemented. "Thank you. Your squirtle is good, too. He almost beat John." I replied. "...Um, Tsunami's actually female." Ghost said awkwardly.

Didn't know that.

"Thanks for the pokemon, Professor. I'll see you later." I said, walking out the door. "Alright then." The Professor replied.

O-o-O-o-O-o-O

As John DeFoe and I walked through Route one, I kept my eyes out for that boy I saw earlier.

"I-it's nice out here." John muttered; it seemed he was never outside before. I was never sure why pokemon seemed to be able to talk around thier trainers, but I never asked.

"Yeah, I know....." I answered.

Of course, we had to battle some pokemon, but eventually.....

We had reached Viridian City. At first, I wanted to go to Viridian forest, but an old man who had gotten drunk blocked the path with his body, muttering something about protecting a cheese mine.

.....John and I tried not to laugh.

I also wanted to get to the shop (I had healed John first) to get antidotes and potions. When I walked in, though, the shop clerk wanted me to give a package to Professor Oak. I also asked to buy some items, but the clerk said that the store was closing for the day and I would have to come back tomorrow.

Ah well. I left the shop and sauntered back to Pallet Town.

O-o-O-o-O-o-O

When I returned to the Lab, Ghost was talking to his grandfather. Of course, Ghost's Rattata was asleep on his head.

"Gramps, didn't you call me over for something?"

"Oh, right.....I must've forgotten...."

I walked up to the professor and showed him the package. "Hey, Professor. I have a package from Viridian." I told him.

"Ah, thank you, Satoko." Professor Oak replied. "This is the custom pokeball I ordered last month." I gave him the package, and stood next to Ghost.

"Erm...anyway, I wanted both of you to do a favor for me." the Professor continued, taking out two small, red book-like devices of the pocket of his lab coat. "These devices are the latest version of the pokedex. Each of them act as electronic encyclopedias- they record info on poemon you have seen or captured. I myself wanted to record a full encyclopedia of Pokemon......but my old age is catching up to me." He gave me one of the pokedexes and gave one to Ghost as well. He also gave us five pokeballs each.

"So, you want us to fill these?" I asked. "Yes, that is exactly what I'm requesting." Professor Oak replied.

"Well, I'm not sure 'bout you Satoko, I'm filling this thing first." Ghost bragged. "I'll stop by home and borrow a map from my sis first, as well as tell her not to give you one."

Of course, he winked after saying that. Ghost, you sly b*****d. Mentioning that map is only gonna help me!

I myself needed to rest for tonight. When I got back home, I showed off John to my mom.

"He's very cute, sweetie." my mom said. "Both of you look tired, though. Get some rest."

O-o-O-o-O-o-O

After getting ready for bed, I noticed John wanted to sleep next to a corner near my bed, hugging his tail away from the wall. "Satoko, will we go on a journey tomorrow?" he asked timidly. "Yeah," I sleepily muttered. "But first we need to say bye to my mom and get a map from Ghost's house." "Oh, okay. Night." John replied, and fell asleep. I followed suit, drifting off into slumber.

((Team at this point: just John

Chapter 3: A Full House

"Friends are the siblings that God never gave us."-Mencius

When I woke up, John DeFoe was trying to figure out how to play on my SNES system. I had forgotten I had left ActRaiser in the system and the poor charmander was trying to fight the bosses on screen.

"This game's cheating!" he whined. I had to agree with him there.

Of course we had a journey to start, so after an hour John gave up playing video games and I started packing (some money, a potion I was given at school once, the pokedex, the pokeballs, my tooth brush, some snacks-both sugary and junky, my drawing supplies, and some spare clothes). I had worked up the courage to say goodbye to my mom, but in the end, we ended up crying and hugging each other. "Be careful, sweetie." Mom told me. "I will." I answered back.

O-o-O-o-O-o-O

I was in Route 1, reading the map that Ghost's sister gave me earlier. So, Viridian has a gym, but it's closed, so we'll have to go to Pewter. I pondered. John was trying to read the map over my shoulder. Without realizing it, we walked into a patch of grass and woke up a sleeping pidgey.

John scratched at it, then backed up cautiously. It tackled him in retaliation. In a panic to stop the battle, I threw a pokeball at the pidgey. I ended up catching it- or rather her; as soon I caught the pidgey, I checked the pokedex for info on pidgey and I learned that you could also check out the information on your pokemon. I checked the pidgey first and saw that she was a female with a Adamant nature.

"I think I'm calling her Aerow." I said. "Okay, it sounds like a cool name." John told me. At that point, I wanted to head to Viridian so I could heal her first.

After I got there, I healed my pokemon and then bought some items at the shop-a few potions and some antidotes. Of course, I wanted to head out to Route 2....but I got sidetracked by the same old man from earlier, only this time he was highly caffeinated. He showed me how to catch a pokemon (even though figured it out a few moments ago) and gave me an old TV.

O-o-O-o-O-o-O

I began to amass a team, starting with a female rattata named Spirit and a male caterpie named Sebastian. I also fought some pokemon to level them up to lv.7. Of course, I also went into Viridian Forest to fight some pokemon as well.

I spotted a pikachu a little way off, which excited me a little. I mean, pikachus are quite rare pokemon! I sent out Spirit and ordered her to use tackle until the pikachu was weak enough to capture and threw a pokeball. I thought I caught it, but the pikachu burst out of the pokeball and tossed it to a tree, breaking it.

"You won't be able to catch me, you bloody little wimp!" The pikachu retorted, seconds before I threw another pokeball at it and caught it.

"This one's a guy." I muttered, the stater of obviousness I am.

"He's also a jerk." John stated, holding his tail timidly.

"I'm calling him Phillip." I muttered. We went back to Viridian to get another pokeball and then returned to Route 2 where I encountered a new pokemon-weedle. This one was a male as well, and I carefully tried to lessen its health to the point I could catch it. I succeeded and named him Arsonic.

After healing my newest member at the pokemon center, I decided it was time for a meet-and-greet.

"All right everyone, I would like you all to introduce yourselves to each other- be nice."

"Erm, all right...." John muttered nervously. "My name is John DeFoe....and I came from a lab in Pallet town....."

The others nodded silently.

John hesitated to say anything else, so Aerow went next.

"Hello, my name is Aerow, and I come from the first route of Kanto."

More nodding, and I decided to say something. "Sorry, we woke you up...."

"It's alright, I'm an early riser." Aerow responded.

Spirit went up next. "I'm Spirit, and I was caught from Route 2. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I'm quite a catch love-wise, if I say so myself." As she said this, I rolled my eyes in humor. I have a flirt on my team-this should be fun... I thought. Sebastian remained silent, but nodded instead of introducing himself. I thought that he might have been shy or a pokemon that didn't like to talk.

"I don't see the bloody point in doing this if we'll end up putting our lives on the line in battle." Phillip said, crossing his arms in defiance. "....Might as well, though. I'm Phillip and I was caught in Viridian forest-I would've escaped if it weren't for that second pokeball." he glared at me and sat right down.

Arsonic went last, bravely stepping up. "I'm Arsonic, and I was also caught at Route 2. I do make a good team member....'cause of my poison attacks...."

After that, we rested for a bit, then went to Viridiran forest and had a grinding session.

Chapter 4: Casulty of Battle

"Deny it all you want, but even you will fall to death."- You Don't Know....... Creepypasta

Hours later, we had beaten every bug trainer in Viridian forest, by then Sebastian and Arsonic had evolved into their strongest forms; butterfree and beedrill respectively. My team was at level 11 by then....well except for Arsonic, who was a level under. Of course, I admit I was getting a little too cocky and arrogant right now.

"Alright, here's what I'm planning: I'll send Sebastian out first and defeat the first pokemon that the gym leader will send out- then send out Arsonic, poison the last one and finish it off from there." I said, smiling widely.

"Wait a bloody minute! Why are you sending them up first?" Phillip protested. "You should let me take care of those bastards!" I sighed in concern. "Phillip.....these are rock type pokemon. They wouldn't be affected by lightning type attacks- plus they'd kill you the minute you step in. I can't let John DeFoe fight either....due to the fact fire types also get killed by rock type attacks. I'm not taking any chances." I replied.

John could tell I was tense and nervous about my first battle. "You're not scared of any of us dying.....are you?" he asked timidly.

To tell the truth, I was a bit scared of that.

I could remember when I was little, my pokemon school kept a pet rattata and I developed a close bond with it- I played with it, shared snacks with it, and even took naps with it(if I finished my work first). One day, I arrived there extra early so I could play with him before class started. At first, I thought he was still sleeping- so I went about my day normally until lunchtime. Before heading outside to play, I checked if the rattata had woken up-he hadn't. Scared and worried, I told the teacher what was going on. When she checked on it, she didn't say anything. At the end of the day, she told me to stay after class so she could talk to me. She said that ratttata had decided to take a long nap and wouldn't be waking up anymore.....it was one way to explain death, but not one that told me everything. In later classes, I would learn death was a little like falling asleep and not waking up- but it varied; Sometimes it could be from illness, other times it was from old age or battle. Of course, pokemon do die- but we try to prevent it, whether we battled with them or not.

I had learned everything about type advantages and status conditions, so I could be able to keep my pokemon alive for as long as I could....but would it be enough?

As I walked to Pewter Town, I shook with every step. A thousand 'what if' questions bounced around in my brain like super bounce balls. It felt like an eternity to reach the gym. When I entered, I was greeted by an overly eccentric man who wanted to help me beat the gym leader. I turned down his offer, but said I'd accept his help in the future. What I said turned out to be words to remember.

The first trainer was easy, to say the least. He had gotten the definition of 'light-years' mixed up, but anyone could forgive him-he was a little kid, after all. I healed up my pokemon with potions and took a deep breath- it was time to face the gym leader.

Brock was a nice guy, to say the least- but I didn't have time to talk. We started a battle immediately- I sent out Sebastian as planned, and Brock sent out a geodude. "Sebastian, use confusion." I said calmly and watch as the butterfree sent out a wave of psychic. I had taken out geodude quickly. "Alright, Sebastian-fall back. Arsonic, step up to the battlefield." I said, sending out the beedrill.

Arsonic fluttered in front of me, bravely gloating; "I'm gonna take out this guy!" Brock sent out an onix. "I could probably poison that thing, then take him out. Arsonic, use poison sting on onix!" I stated.

"With pleasure!" Arsonic cried, jabbing the onix with his drill arms. He had used that until the poison took effect on the onix. I was feeling proud about myself until-

"Onix, use Rock Tomb." I heard Brock demand. Onix obeyed and pound its tail at the ground.

A hail of rocks scattered in front of my beedrill, making me realize something- bug type are weak to rock type attacks.

"Arsonic, fall back!" I cried, but it was too late. The rock hail pelted Arsonic hard, and he fell. I ran up to him, screaming; "Arsonic, speak to me! Speak to me dammit!" Arsonic only looked into my eyes, gave me a look as though he were smiling, then closed his eyes and fell limp.

The realization hit me full force-Arsonic was dead. I screamed out his name in grief.

John's pokeball shook and burst open without warning, and John slashed at the onix in anger. "YOU b*****d! YOU KILLED MY TEAMMATE! I WANT YOU TO DIE!" He yelled, and I realized he had some pent up anger that was now being unleashed. Now I was truely afraid. "John! Get back!" I cried, then added; "Sebastian, use confusion!" To my surprise, the butterfree spoke.

"With pleasure, m'lady." Sebastian said as he floated in front me and sent out another wave of psychic energy. The onix let out a roar of defeat and fell.

The aftermath was silent; Brock only handed me the Boulder badge, some prize money and quietly apologized for my loss. I nodded, picked up my dead beedrill and left walking all the way to Route 2 without stopping; John and Sebastian following me.

Holding Arsonic's pokeball and his broken corspe, I knew there was one thing I had to do now.

I sent out Spirit, Aerow and Phillip, then ordered, "Spirit, Phillip -I need your help. Arsonic was killed in battle. I need you to dig a grave for Arsonic. Aerow, get a sheet or blanket so I can wrap up Arsonic's body; it won't be a proper coffin, but it will do." I gave Aerow at least 100 poke yen so she could buy a sheet or something.

Phillip and Spirit didn't question me and dug a three-foot deep, two-wide hole. Aerow flew off and later returned with a white sheet, in which I wrapped Arsonic's body before placing it in the hole. After covering the hole, I placed Arsonic's pokeball at the foot of the grave and whispered; "Any of you guys want to say goodbye?"

John, though still angry, took a deep breath and said; "I didn't know you much, Arsonic.....but I'm gonna miss you."

Aerow landed on my shoulder and sorrowfully looked at the make-shift grave. "You were the most enthuisastic one. You will be missed."

Spirit started crying. "I hope where you are, you're happy." she stated, nearly sobbing.

"Bloody hell, I guess you must've given that pokemon hell. Hope where ever you are, no one screws with you." Phillip said, shaking at the thought that it could've been him in that grave.

Sebastian bowed and said; "This loss is a rather sad one. May Arsonic rest in peace."

I went last. "Arsonic, I'm sorry. I should've raised your level beforehand.......I promise I'M never letting this happen again.....this is my fault...." I sobbed. John walked up to me and hugged me. "This isn't your fault. Don't beat yourself up." he said.

That night, we crashed at Viridian forest. I had a hard time falling asleep that night.

Chapter 5: Haunted

"They are sick
They are poor
And they die by the thousands
And we look away
"- Cold Cash and Colder Hearts by Thrice

I woke up, hungry and still feeling guilty over Arsonic's death. The others were still sleeping, but I decided to visit Arsonic's gravesite. When I got there, I knelled and spoke quietly. "Arsonic, I'm sorry I was careless.....I'm making a promise now. I will train all of my pokemon evenly and try not to send any under-leveled pokemon in battle." I then headed out to Pewter to get some free breakfast at the pokemon center(they were serving breakfast platters in those Styrofoam take-out boxes; I got a spinach and cheese omelet) and also spent my money on pokeballs and potions.

I got up and walked back to the campsite, where I ate my breakfast slowly then took out a box of pocky. I opened one of the packages inside and took out one of the chocolate biscuit sticks I was familiar with and addicted to. Pocky wasn't a healthy food, but goddamn it; I was still hungry and stressed with guilt! I bit on the chocolate covered bit the pocky-just enough to hold it by the teeth.

Then everything around me became cold, which was unusual because it was summer.

"Why do you challenge fate?"

I turned my head to the source of the voice but no one was there.

"Why are you tempting death? Why do you mourn for the one you lost and not be cautious to your surroundings?"

I was getting scared by now. I nearly bit off a piece of the pocky I was enjoying.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a ninetales appeared-more like a ghost of a ninetales than a regular one, because it had wounds and gashes on its body. "Who are you?!" I asked.

"I was one who became a victim to fate's cruelty and the slavery of humans-ones much eviler than normal trainers." the ninetales responded. At first, I wanted to say that the fox pokemon had everything wrong. I was treating my pokemon with respect and love.

"No, these humans didn't even deserve to be called trainers.....they taught pokemon moves that only had little power and used them for labor; if those pokemon had disobeyed, they were beaten severely-occasionally killing them."

My body froze. W-w-what?! Who in their right mind would-

"Exactly what I was thinking when I was captured and forced into slavery. I had only one escape-death. I still feel angered by the ones who killed me......but I do not have time to tell you more. I must take my leave for now.........but I will tell you more when my strength returns...."

"W-wait!" I said, but the ninetales faded away. I was shaken from the shock, and didn't notice John had woken up. "Are you okay?" he asked, which made me jump a little. "Yeah....." I replied, but it wasn't much of a convincing answer. The others woke up slowly, stretching and yawning as they walked up to me. "What's that in your mouth?" Phillip asked, still groggy from sleep. "It's pocky- it's like a biscuit stick with chocolate on it." I explained, then added; "They're pretty addicting; almost like cigarettes, but they aren't drugs and don't give you cancer."

Phillip had to roll his eyes when a weedle came crawling along. Instinctively, I tossed a pokeball at it, relived when I heard that nostaligic click. I picked up the pokeball and sent out the pokemon. "Guess we have a new team member," Spirit stated. "Ah, I hope I wasn't interupting anything." the weedle said in a feminine voice. Taking out my pokedex, I had to check the nature of the newly caught weedle-she had a gentle nature. "Well, I think I have a good name for you-" I said to the weedle. "I'm calling you Euthanasia."

"What's eutheh-euthi- what's that word mean?" John asked. "Euthanasia is a word that means 'mercy killing'-if I recall it correctly." Sebastian stated. He had hit it on the nose where I came up with the name; it seemed to fit a weedle with a gentle nature. With new found resolve, I declared:

"Alright, everyone-let's grind."

O-o-O-o-O-o-O

As time passed, I had raised the levels of my pokemon team to 13, as well as Euthanasia who was now a beedrill. It also helped to catch as many species as I could; my newer catches were a spearow named Lion Bird, a mankey named Punch, a jigglypuff named Vocaloid, and a male nidoran named Dan( all of them were sent to a PC I could access). I also found a pokemon center at route 4, which I made good use of. I deposited Phillip in the PC to buy a female Magikarp(500 poke yen is too much for a pokemon that only knows splash and takes nearly forever to train), which was named Jade. After switching Jade out for Phillip, I decided to enter Mt. Moon.

After letting all of my pokemon out of their pokeballs,a geodude nearly tripped me; prompting me to catch it(I named him Boulder-he was sent to the PC). Soon, after we wandered around pointlessly.....

"Hey, look at this!" Phillip had said, holding up a red stone that looked a shuirken. He was grinning happily at his discovery. However, I had a bad feeling about this part of the cave. A person wearing all black was standing around, ordering a sandshrew around-the latter digging around for something. Something was wrong here-the sandshrew was injured.....

"'Do you see what they are doing?'" the ghostly ninetales' voice asked.

I felt scared and attempted to leave but the black-clad person saw me. "What are you doing here, kid? Scram!" he yelled.

Crap. I didn't move. Instead I sent out Phillip. The mysterious trainer sent out a Zubat. Phillip only shocked the thing with thunderbolt and KO'd it. Next, the trainer sent out a Geodude, which I had Sebastian KO.

The trainer ran off, dropping a pokeball on the way. I picked it up, and the sandshrew looked up at me. Was this pokeball the one that contained it?

The ghostly ninetales appeared again, this time staring at the pokeball I was holding with hatred. "'That sandshrew....so young and naive.....he was taken from his parents and forced to work for days without food or rest.......he was beaten if he refused or was too exhausted.....You can release him and save his life before that wretched Rocket drone returns......" John and the others stared at the ninetales in fear and shock. I was scared and didn't know whether to release the sandshrew or not. "Satoko.....I think you should set the sandshrew free....he looks sad...." John said, looking down at the ground. The others nodded in agreement. I stared at the pokeball, then made my decision.

I dropped the device on the ground, and crushed it with my heel. It wouldn't be fair to keep the sandshrew after what it was through. It stared at me, then scampered off. "Will he be okay?" I asked. "'He will find refuge here for now, but he will be safe......but there are others that need to be saved....find them and set them free.....'" The ghostly ninetales whispered. I nodded in reply. "'Good....I will leave for now.....we will meet again....." she answered, then faded.

Phillip was now frozen in shock. "Bloody hell....didn't think that I'd see a ghost pokemon in my life...." he muttered. "Alright, guys, we continue should this trek-after we sell that 'star piece' Phillip is holding for money." I said loudly.

Phillip's face fell after I said that. "Y-you can't do that! I-it's mine!" he squeaked. "Okay, we'll make a deal-if I find something like that later on, you can keep it." I bargained. "Tch- Alright." Phillip responded in an uncertain tone.

((Oh F***- s*** just got real.

I also put in a bit more of Phillip's personality in this chapter.

Anyway, review.))
