She was panting slightly as she walked along, though she moved silently through the pain that coursed through her. She was on the way to find her mother, no doubt, but going at a rather slowed pace with slow and deep breathes - necessary for her to remain conscious. It was an overwhelming pain that made her want so desperately to lay down and curl up, but she knew she needed her mother's wisdom in this, and walking would quicken the process. Still, she was ready for it to be over - too bad for the young soon-to-be mother, for she knew this was hardly the first of it at all.

After more walking, close to the den of her parents, the den she knew just so few months ago as her own, she found herself unable to go any further. The pain was overwhelming in such that she couldn't force herself into another step. Though, she found herself a soft place, lay down slowly on her side, and waited for a moment between the strongest of the pulses to call out, using what little strength she could muster for the summons, "Mother!" The cry echoed out, and slowly her eyes shut, chest rising and falling in a pant as she awaited hopefully.

Poor princess, she needed her mommy for once.

The darkness inside the cave matched the dark pelt of the lioness, who laid idlely on the floor, staring at the wall. From the looks of it, she was still not in the mood to move an inch, but Asi had pushed her enough to at least get her to eat something. It wasn't healthy for her to lie about, starving to death whilst she carried cubs.

However, hearing the sounds of her daughter calling out, Ari was immediatly on her feet, ears perking forwad as she bolted from the den. Just a few feet away from the entrance laid the poor princess; Ari realized the time had come now. "Syeira," She called out, loping over to her daughter and nuzzling her. "Shhh, it'll be okay. Mom's here," Oh how she hoped those words would work. Hopefully they would get through both of their heads.

Asi had left the den quite a few hours earlier, he was on a mission to bring back more fresh meat. And he would keep bringing it until his beloved finally ate something more than a few bites.

While on his hunt he'd also tried to keep a look out for Syeira, he didn't understand why she'd been 'gone' for so long. It was like trying to find a ghost when you searched this land for a known lion. He sighed and took the prey in his jaws after another moment, it was a gazelle. It was pretty big, a buck. It was getting to it's older years, soon it would have no longer been able to spring forth life in other females. He decided it had been a good choice, and others needed to eat beside his two pregnant loves. His daughter and his mate, how stressing.

He continued to drag the heavy catch as long as he could, the den site wasn't far now. When he got to it he could faintly hear a comotion going on. He lifted his head and looked. Upon seeing what was before him he dropped his hold on the gazelle, staring paniced over at his daughter and mate. Oh god! Not now!

The beautiful adolescent lay there, her chest heaving as her face contorted with a rush of pain. The bright eyes for which she was so known were clamped shut, but the familiar sound of her mother was comforting. For the moment, her words would not come, not so close to such a surge. When it had subsided before the other began, she glanced up quickly, blinking back tears of sheer and utter pain, "It will be," she murmured, weakly, trying to reassure not only herself but her mother - who seemed quite worried as well. After all, death rates could be high for both a mother and the offspring, especially when they gave birth so young.

That's when she found the scent, head whirling as a sudden sharp contraction overwhelmed her body, finding the big burly toffee lion just before she forced her eyes shut. Her jaws locked in a grip, gritting hard as she forced herself to withstand the pain.

The cub was coming soon, too soon.

The scent of Asi reached Ari's nostrils, causing her head to whip behind her. Her eyes were wide, holding the emotion of fear deep with in the bright blue. Only slightly did she calm down when Syeira also said things will be okay. The lioness turned her attention to her little girl, nuzzling into her neck and whispering to her every now and then, instructing her to say the least.

"Just breath. It'll all be over soon, I promise," Ari said, hating to see Syeira like this.

He rushed forward, forgetting about his prize for the moment. He slowed though, hesitant to come any closer to them, just in case they got.. well. Bitchy, to be honest. Shouldn't Sye be in the den? Wait! He knew his job. "I be keepin' watch fer anne thin' dangerous." He murmered, half to them and half to himself.

After all, the blood of new life seemed to draw out filthy beats that thought a mother giving birth easy prey. They would not know two very protective adults were about until it was too late though. Wait! The food! Sye would need some when she was all rested up after this, and Ari might eat too. He brought that back closer, keeping a watch on food and the area surrounding.

"Yeh gunna be okay." He mumbled into the air, again this was more to himself than sye. He needed to tell himself his little baby would be alright.

When both her father and mother were near her, a sense of safeness came over her, though it did little to satiate the pain that coursed through her veins. It felt like her blood was on fire, burning through every muscle and inch of her flesh. Her mother had to do this much longer than Syeira would with her single birth, and after all, the lioness would have to go through it soon yet it again. To get pregnant twice seemed utterly crazy at this moment, but she knew that now was the time to push the little cub out into the world - it was like some instinct overwhelming every sense.

Her eyes winced shut as she rolled herself into an easier position to get the child out, gritting her teeth as her front claws dug sharply into the dirt for not only a brace but a way to relieve the tension in her form. Despite her every instinct telling her to do so, little Syeira did not cry out. Even in this time of pain and fear, she held her pride and dignity in high regards. She would come through this like the lady she was, with all her glory and honor intact. It was just the way that she was.

For a moment, she took a deep breath, inhaling it into her tortured and punished lungs. Then, as if she had no regard for her own comfort, she began to push again, feeling that cub ever so closer to it's first breath in the world. And then, quite suddenly, she felt the passing, and there lay the filmy sac.

With a wince of pain, she moved, tearing open the side and staring down with a sudden surge of pride that was the little thing. A son. She had a son. So young, and she wasn't even sure she was ready, but here he was. She disposed of the remnants of the sac and after birth, rich with it's nutrients, in the proper manner - all instinctual. Then, began to lick the cub clean, even as it began to mrowl at her in it's confusion. She was panting though, and there was a smile on her maw - for the first time in her whole life, perhaps, it wasn't sarcastic or cold. It was just that - a smile.

She was proud. Proud of the little thing wobbling itself between her forepaws. Then, calmly, she looked up at her parents, "Mom, Dad," she whispered through her weariness, blinking her eyes as she tried to push back the emotional overwhelming tears, "look at him."

Ari nodded to Asi as he went watching for dangers. She also noticed that he had a carcass of some fallen animal near him too. Perfect for Syeira! And well might as well be perfect for her. She smiled towards the mocha lion, turning her head back to Syeira. This was like Ari was reliving this. She was watching her baby go through the same pain she had been in to bring her, and the two other boys into this world.

As the pain came, it seemed to instantly vanish in the air, leaving pride lingering in the air emitting from the mocha lioness.

Blue eyes seemed to drop down to the form of Sye's son, a huge smile pressing against her maw. "He's beautiful," He had most of Sye's features. The mochaish skin was the most obvious. He'd probably gotten the black tuffs of hair from his father. "Asi, come see,"

Done, already? A sense of ease washed over him, and by the sounds of the two females nothing had gone wrong. One out... So Syeira had guessed right. He moved foward, cautiously almost. He eyed the tiny thing between his daughter's paw in awe, it was much different viewing a grandson than it was viewing a son.

He swallowed. "Yeh done me proud, Sye." He whispered to her, not knowing much else to say. It was a tiny ball of cofee and cream, with hints of black along it's back and a small tuft of fur on its tiny skull. It was so little! He'd forgotten just how little they were when first born. He eyed his mate after a moment. Gods, he'd have to go through this again!

"'e looks jus' like yeh." He said, this time louder. He didn't mention anything about the male that had caused this, would not. He nuzzled lightly into Sye, and then pressed against Ari.

She was slowly coming to a calm, the panting of her body coming under control. It was a hard process, but she was glad since there had only been one, that it had been short. Later on, when she actually had a child on purpose, as an adult, there might be more - and then she might be in for it, quite like her mother.

Though, when her father came closer and stared down at the tiny cub between her paws, her breathe held for a long moment. Her mother she wasn't worried about, she knew she was proud of her - it was her father that she wanted the blessings of. After all, from the day she was born, she had been daddy's little girl. When he breathed out those words, though, all the clouds that had been hanging over her these past four months broke away, shining down the sun's like like a blessing.

"Thank you," she said with the slightest tinge of emotion in her voice, licking clean the cub as she lay there, now so calm. Though, at his next statement, she offered out a laugh to her parents, "Which means he looks like you, Dad. After all, I'm nearly identical to ya. With a couple of moms traits that it looks like he got too," she said quietly. "That stripe, even if it's not the color of our pride." That meant the black was most definately from the father. She just waited to see the eyes - wondering if they would be that cool, poison blue, or that firey red. Either would be beautiful, but the latter would put more of Uumi into him - which she somehow wanted.

The little cub wriggled between it's mothers paws, letting out a couple of soft mews as it blindly nudged it's way down and along her body. It seemed like a smart little thing, after all, much like it's mother. At least Syeira had known the parents were both intelligent, even if one was too angry all the time. When it found it's way to the warm underbelly of it's mother, it's blind face nuzzled until it found a n****e, then settled it's greedy self down to suckle - glad that it didn't have to fight siblings for a meal. This one would be ultimately spoiled, more so than Asi had done to his daughter, to the mother.

After a long moment, she clicked her tongue, gaze shifting up to her father, a smile spread across her paw, "name him, Dad."

Wait... name it? That wasn't fair! He didn't want to name it something bad, or something Sye didn't like! He glanced to Ari, hoping perhaps she would silently help him. The only thing he could think of was 'Taabu' and he wasn't sure how much Sye would appreciate it. But it was fitting, in many senses.

"Er... is.. is Taabu a'righ'?" His head tilted to one side.

(didnt remember if it was tabuu or taabu.. -dies-)

Syeira grinned as the word spilled from her father's maw, letting it roll over it's meanings in her mind, finding a sense of amusement in it. "It's perfect," she said quietly, glancing up to her father. It really was. All the things that had happened between she and Uumi before, this now, and unknown to her - the cub's problems itself. It was perfect. Little Taabu, born from all that misery.

[Timeskip]A couple of weeks later, Syeira and Taabu were curled up in the depths of her mother and father's den, resting. Taabu, at this point, was too little to carry very far, and Syeira wanted her mother's guidance.

The little ball of toffee and black fur wriggled, moving itself out of the curl of his mother's paw, moving back some as it watched the tired lioness. She was always tired, his Gama said not before he was born though. That made him feel a little bad - what'd he do to his mama? However, at this moment, that was the last thing on his mind. With a little mrawl spilling past his mug, he leapt, tugging at his mother's ear, growling playfully. It was time to get up - Gama and Gapa were already out.

Syeira's eyes flashed open in an instant, a soft smile on her maw as she wearily scooped the cub away with one quick movement of her paw. "Alright, Taabu," she said quietly, pushing her body up into a sitting position before sauntering slowly towards the cave entrance - eyes slightly squinted at the light. "I don't see why you couldn't be like your Gapa and I," she murmured as he scrambled around at her feet, trying to keep up with her slow strides, which were equal to a quick pace for himself.

Taabu grinned through the slight strain of his lungs - nothing like his unknown father, but it was there. Syeira hoped it would be grown out of, and would most likely. He shuffled his little paws to keep up, those two bright eyes concentrated on the light ahead. Once he broke past the barrier of shadow, he grinned, bounding out some ahead of his mother, leaping onto a rock and looking for his gama and gapa. He was spoiled. Though, the whole way he went, Syeira couldn't help but notice - he counted under his breath. All the way to eight, then started over after a little pause. Really, like, what the hell?

Though, he stood there, quite proudly as he gazed out - those two big red eyes were enough to tell anyone that knew Uumi just exactly whose child he was. Which might cause problems if Denahi came around.

Ari had been moving through the lands, tracking a small herd of gazelles. She hadn't hunted for a while, and wanted to exercise her legs with one of her favorite activities. Mind you, last time she tried hunting when she was pregnant, she wanted things to go her way by choosing probably the most biggest and strongest animals to hunt. Asi stopped her before things turned bad thankfully.

Her tail flicked casually behind her. Hmm Little Taabu was still a bit small to eat meat (she assumed), but Sye was probably hungry, right? The lioness was also thinking that maybe her daughter would have a day off from watching her son, catch up on some rest and relaxation.

Picking out a small foal, Ari darted for it, scaring the herd into chaos. The her speed lacked from the weight she carried in her stomach, the hunt turned out successful. Now, to drag the kill back to the den which laid a mile or so to the west.

No trouble at all.

---

It seemed the news of Sye's pregnancy filtered through the Kusini Lands, because now the charcoal adoloscent was searching for his sister, wondering who in their right mind would touch her like they did! He growled under his breath, stalking towards his parents' den, spotting the little toffee male on the rock and his sister right near him.

"...Who's the squirt?" He called out, his blue eyes watching the small cub, not being able to see the crimson eyes of his.

Syeira's blue eyes flickered upwards as she caught the scent of her brother, for once not seeming to mind his company so much. Since Taabu's birth, she had calmed somewhat, thankfully - she didn't want to appear harsh to her son, and she was simply too tired to put her mind to the test of other's intelligence when they weren't presenting any sort of threat.

A smile spread her maw as she heard her brother, though, she dreaded his getting closer. Those eyes of the cutie were a dead give away, but her smile didn't falter. "Taabu," she called back, her tail flicking slowly. He had probably been off somewhere far away, by the time he heard the news and got here - well, her son had been born, "your nephew."

As those bright red eyes caught the sight of that dark male, his little muscles tensed. His mind was caught between fleeing back to his mother and showing off for her. She was a proud lioness, and he wanted to be just as proud as his mom! So, instead of fleeing like his beating heart urged him to do, he planted his paws calmly and stood his ground. He would be brace. Though, as he watched the male approach, he counted his steps in octets. Poor kid.

As he waited for him to near, with his mother only a few feet behind him, now sitting slowly in the grass as he could hear, he traced his eyes over the colors. Denahi, this one had to be. He had two uncles, Tamu the light, and Denahi the dark. This one was the mean one, and he found himself dreading meeting him for a moment.
