For several weeks now, Silas had been traveling along the coast, stretching out his legs, his electric blue mane turning an extra eye-burning shade under the burning sun. The grasslands were filled with tawny antelope and the striped lion ate well. He wandered down to the shore only when he didn't smell lions for many miles. He wasn't interested in meeting any prides right now. The huge lion was pleased to be on his own, owning himself, able to travel to the horizon and back as he wished.
If Silas were truly honest with himself, however, he was bored. He enjoyed being on his own, but it was a little lonely as well. The lion had enough food, so now he prowled the coastland restlessly in search of something else-- entertainment.
