Xander walked along the corridor back to the room he shared with Frost, a small covered plate it hand. He had been bored once his shift was over and the older man had been no where to be found, same with his other friends. Rather then training with his pokemon for the second time today or just sitting in his room on his laptop or reading, the blond went to the kitchens and baked. When he had in hand was all that was left once others had gotten word that he had made cheesecake and even then he had to purposefully put it aside just so it wouldn't be taken before he could give it to his wayward roommate.
Once he reached the door to the room he knocked briefly as a warning he was coming in if Frost was in side. Xander then unlocked the door, opened it and stepped in side. He closed the door behind him before he really took notice of the room other then that Frost wasn't inside. What he did see made his face pale, eyes widen in panic and he came close to dropping the plate from almost nerveless feeling hands. Why was all of Frost's possesions gone?!

A bigger bed with a more comfortable mattress. Softer sheets. More space, and space he didn't have to share. He could put a sofa there along that wall, he'd always liked reading on a sofa better than on a bed. Why was that? Well, he supposed it didn't matter, he had space to indulge the oddity in himself now. He could hang a notice board up on that wall there, and a whiteboard there for scribblings of this and that over there. The bathroom wasn't up to his standards of cleanliness, but it wouldn't take him long to get it there and it would be easy to maintain with only himself and one other person using it...
He ought to unpack now, if he didn't then he would end up going to bed late. Logic and sense told him that, but instinct and feeling had other ideas. Emotion had no business controlling his behaviour, but it was doing so nevertheless. He had stepped out of his room, closed the door, and headed for the stairs. Back to his old room. He hadn't returned the card key yet. Once outside the door he paused, the feeling that had brought him here suddenly wavering. What would he do if Xander was in? What would he do if he wasn't? Well, the only way forward in anything was experimentation. Now even his logic was conspiring to make him face his... his friend. He had no idea what he was going to say. Taking a deep breath Frost smoothed down his pristine white uniform, swiped the card key, and stepped inside.

Xander kept staring blankly at the side that should have had items that belonged to his friend. Theories running through his head just kept getting worse in nature as the seconds continued on. Was Frost mad with him over something and found another room that had someone else? Had he been transferred to another region? Or had something else happen to him...? Was he hurt or...? His panic was steadily growing by the time the door started to open behind him. He was snapped out of it when then the door lightly bumped into his back and he half turned his body to see who it is, still mostly in his thoughts.
When he spotted Frost standing there the first thing he felt was relief that his worst thoughts had not been the truth then the fear of his other thoughts came back. He turned the rest of the way towards the older man and stared at him with a lost, confused and slightly apprehensive look. "Frost, what's going on...?"

Frost looked over at Xander, down at himself - at his white uniform - and then back up with a soft sigh. "I would have thought that was obvious," he said quietly. "I have been promoted. I have moved my things into my new room on the third floor... It is not a secret I have kept from you, I only found out a few hours ago, but I thought it best to organise myself and move out as soon as possible." He wasn't saying what he wanted to say. The words were in there somewhere, he could feel them and yet they were out of reach. Feelings he couldn't embrace. He was... afraid? No. Yes? He didn't know. Confused? Apprehensive? Was he saying the right things? Would Xander hate him?
"I... I hope your new roommate is bearable. We will still see on another?" Why had his tones made that into a question? Of course they would... unless Xander didn't want to. Maybe that was why. His subconscious knew that the young man might hate him for this. That wasn't fair. It wasn't his fault... Or was it? It had wanted this, striven for it. Would Xander despise him for that, as the side effect was their separation? He didn't know. He didn't know anything. Relationships, of any kind, were so difficult. Perhaps it would be saner for him to just avoid them. He didn't want to though. He wanted to stay friends with Xander, desperately, but he didn't know how to say it or how to show it. He knew that his face and stance were as impassive as ever. He wanted to show more, but he couldn't. People were so difficult!

Xander blinked and mentally slapped his self for being so caught up in his worry and fear that he missed Frost's new outfit. At the news he had mixed feelings, happiness that his friend got promoted and sadness that he would see less of him. "Congratulations on your promotion." he said with a smile, hiding his slight apprehension. Was the fact that Frost had moved all of his stuff so fast mean he was just being his normal, organized self or did it mean he was in a hurry to get away from Xander? He didn't notice his hands gripped the plate he carried a bit harder, luckily not bothering the contents it held though.
When he picked up on the very hidden under tone in Frost's voice, only able to from being the mans roommate and studying his mannerisms, he let out a quiet sign of relief. "That makes the both of us, I would had to exchange a perfectly good roommate for a slob." he said, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "Of course, just because we are no longer roommates doesn't mean we can't hang out right?" It was both an affirmation to Frost's question and a question in it's self. Ranks, Xander had no problem with discarding for the most part if they were friends, but he knew that his roo- no ex-roommate, and didn't that just make a pang of mixed emotions fill him, was a private person.

"Of course," Frost nodded slightly, "after my exacting standards a slob would be quite a shock to the system..." It seemed that Xander did still want to be friends. That was what he'd said, wasn't it? Yes. It was... Right? His words had said that, but might the young man's tones have held an edge he'd missed?
"Well... If you want to 'hang out' still then of course. I will be busy with interesting new projects of course but I am sure there will be some time for us to socialise." He wasn't saying enough. He needed to offer something more but... but he didn't know what. It was all so difficult. He didn't even know what it was that Xander wanted from him. What did he want from Xander? He didn't know that either. He needed something easy to latch onto, something generic... He couldn't think of anything. He looked down at the floor. "If you do not, however, I shall not force my company upon you. I am sure I can find other ways to entertain myself."

"Indeed it would be." Xander said with a chuckle. "I'll have to make sure there are some ground rules with who ever it is. That worked well for us." He wasn't worried yet about who he would be stuck with right now. He might worry later but right now all he would think of was that he wouldn't see Frost as much anymore and that the older man wasn't going to be a comforting presence during the night anymore. Granted that Xander knew there was more he was worried about as he wasn't one to lie to his self about how he felt but he also knew now was not the time to dwell over where his heart lay right now.
Frost was feeling about as sure as he was in this rocky scene? Xander watched him carefully and the tightness that had been in his posture with out hi knowing, relaxed more. "Why wouldn't I want to still hang out? After all, your my best friend Snowy." he asked with a smile. He decided then that he would fret, worry and more later, now should be a joyful occasion because of Frost's promotion. "There is no way to force your company on one who willingly and happily excepts it."
He still felt like he was disjointed though.

Snowy. He didn't look up right away, but a small smile did begin to tug at his lips. "Well... I am pleased to hear that." Not an ideal response. Quite far from an ideal response, but he wasn't exactly sure what and ideal response would have been. Direct reciprocation probably would have been quite acceptable but he wasn't entirely sure it was true; did Dith still count or not? Well he could argue semantics with himself later, for now the point was that Xander wanted to remain friends.
"Would you like to see my room?" Snowy said after a short pause, looking up at last with that small smile still playing on his lips. "It isn't all that exciting, and is currently disgustingly disorganized, but all the same, if you're interested you're welcome to come and see it."

Xander's smile turned into a grin when he spotted the small smile. At least there wasn't so much tension between them now, even if there was still some left. It didn't faze him that Frost didn't say he was his best friend in return as whether it was true of not, the man wouldn't necessarily be able to admit it. It was something that made Frost who he was, made Snowy who he was.
"I would love to. After all if I plan on visiting you then I have to know where it is." he said, eyes sparkling. He wasn't worried that Frost wouldn't want him visiting, after all the older man offered to show him it in the first place. "And if you would like the company I could always help you clean it up."

"Right then," the small blond nodded, his smile vanishing as he turned for the door, "come along then." Frost moved swiftly along the corridor, up the stairs, and then along the hall again until he reached his new room. Although he hadn't glanced over his shoulder to make sure Xander was following him, he had been listening to the sound of his former roommate's footsteps and keeping track in that more subtle fashion. "Here we are then," Frost said, fetching out his card key, still not looking around, "my new abode." Pushing open the door he stepped quickly inside, waiting for Xander to join him before shutting it again.
Considering his claims that the room was in a terrible state things looked extremely organised; a few boxes were neatly lined up along one wall, a small pile of clothes set neatly on the bed, and a couple of suits already hung up in the closet. This was, however, Frost and so things being neat but not in their place clearly wasn't good enough.
"I appreciate your offer to put things away," Frost said, the hint of a smile returning to his face, "but... I would rather handle my own possessions. It isn't that I don't trust you it's just that..." he paused, frowned, and then gave another faint smile and a small shrug; "It's just that I'm me. I would, however, appreciate your help in moving furniture around at little. I would like to move the desk there," he gestured, "closer to the window to get the natural light. I also wish to move the chest of draws from there over to there because I want to put a sofa against that wall when I can acquire one." Furniture shopping would be in order. It wasn't something he'd done recently, in fact not since he and Dith had moved into the new flat and that had been more than eight years ago now.

Xander easily kept pace with Frost as the other man lead him along. He took in the way they were going and memorized it the best he could for it only being the first trip. Once they were at the door he waited until Frost opened said door then stepped aside to let him in. His gray eyes scanned the room, noting with amusement what Frost counted as disorganized before looking back at Frost.
"Indeed, it's understandable." Xander nodded with a smile and a chuckle. He preferred to organize his stuff as well. "I believe it wouldn't be too much trouble helping you move stuff." he said and put his hands on his hips as he looked at where all Frost had pointed. "Once everything is put away and moved where they are supposed to, it will definitely look nice." He would wait to see if Frost would ask before he offered to go shopping with him.

"Indeed," Frost nodded and moved over to the desk, "I think it will be a comfortable place to be." Once Xander joined him, the pale-eyed man lifted his side of the desk and carried it across to the room and setting it down again. The chest of draws was next, and far heavier than the desk, but he didn't struggle with it was much as he had expected too; apparently he had become somewhat stronger as well as slimmer and fitter over the last few months. It was only to be expected really, but it had happened gradually so he hadn't really noticed until now. Setting the piece of furniture down in its new place Frost dusted off his hands and looked around with pursed lips. What next?...
"Priority one," he said with a nod, moving over to one of the boxes and carrying it over to the chest of draws. "Tea," he explained as he opened it up and took out a small electric kettle, which he handed to Xander. "Plug it in, and fetch some water from the bathroom sink. You will find tea bags and cups in the box, you may set them out on here... I have no milk. If you want milk with your tea you will have to go and locate some... Oh, did you want tea?" Asking that initially probably would have been a good idea. Ah well. "Anyway, while you are doing that I shall start putting other things in their place."

Moving the furniture hadn't been hard so Xander wasn't surprised when it didn't take them long. Other then the directions of how to move, exact placements etc. they were quite during it. With Frost he didn't feel the need to brake the silences and in his time as the other mans roommate, learned that Frost was more talkative when you were willing to listen. When Frost had moved towards the boxes, Xander had followed along like a puppy as he listened.
He took the kettle and gave the new agent an amused look at first his assumptions, then his slight rambling and finally remembering to ask. "Sure, tea sounds nice." he said with a quiet laugh as he plugged in the kettle. He then continued to do as Frost had asked of him as he listened to the other unpack. "So... while the question is rather unoriginal it has to be asked, how does it feel to be an agent?" he asked. He didn't expect the other man to feel all that different yet so it was rather just an idle question.

"Well the uniform fits me better than my old ones were beginning to so that is nice," Frost replied as he began to unpack books and papers. "Other than that... exciting I suppose? Yes. I will be allowed to work on interesting projects, and people will listen to my ideas. I may even be allowed to start working on a few of them before long. I imagine I will be even more excited once I actually start work the day after tomorrow... Mmmh, tomorrow. Perhaps I shall use the day to go to the city and locate a suitable sofa, perhaps even a few frivolities...” Stars on the ceiling. If he got a large amount of black paper, or black cloth and some glow in the dark paint... Or little light bulbs. Yes. Light bulbs. He would keep this little project secret though, he could show it to Xander once it was finished.

"Sounds like it's going to be exciting." Xander said with a grin as he started on making the tea. "I'm glad your going to have better opportunities then before. You are rather brilliant after all and it would be a waste for you to work on the same types of things for very long." Xander wasn't good with larger machines. Give him a lap top and he could fix that but anything bigger or more complicated and he was stuck. Not that he believed one bit that they would only have Frost work on machines, just that he knew his friend liked working on them. "Ah shopping, usually annoying but necessary."
