She was only a day out of the swamp, a single day and already she missed it. She knew it was foolish, she had longed to see the world and even had a friend to help her, but she was home sick. Her little oasis in the center of the swamp, her home for her entire life. She had left it upon a whim. Looking back in the direction of her homelands she sighed. She had left the young male she was tarvelling with asleep, happily oblivious to ehr movements. Maybe hunting would take her mind off of her home sickness. If only she knew ehere to catch things around here. She was so confused, it wasn't at all like swamp hunting, this open land, she hoped there were some arthogs around ususally, they were her staple diet.

Umo walked over the ravines edge, his body heaving over the side as he went. Black pelt contrasted against the light ground as he went, crimson eyes blinking. The celtic type marking across his nose, under his eyes and over his shoulders and tail were just a hue darker than the rest of his pelt. He walked with a smooth stride and over all looked healthy. His face was as staight as ever, considering he never showed emotion in his face or his voice. Ever. His eyes crossed the lands, who knew where he was.
He cleared his throat and headed onward, not sure of where he was going.

Kikawaida finally stopped, sitting in the shadow of some rocks a heavy sigh escaped her. She was confused, how could she be sad when she had done what she wished to do? Perhaps she should just return to the swamps. they were ehr home after all. She had never even been away from her borders before and now she was a day away. Her ears flattened her dusty pink eyed gaze searching the horizon for the place she had grown up. She should be happy, she was seeing the world.

Umo's red eyes caught something moving in the distance. It was anouther stranger, a Lion. He made a noise in his throat that sounded like 'Hmph'. He watched her for a moment, his thoughts surrounding him. He had found so many little cubs and wanted to help them. Perhaps he could help older lions as well. He cleared his throat, walking through the tall grass, his brown mane swaying slightly. Sometimes he wondered if his marking meant anything. He came closer to the stranger, and not wanting to frighten her, sat down on his hind end, his tail curling around his front paws. "Are you alright?" He asked, in his usual monotone voice. No pitch. Nothing. Just speaking.

Kikawaidas dusty pink gaze fled to the big male suddenly, her tail flickering in a slightly ubncomfortable fashion. She was'nt exactly antisocial she simply hadn't been around alot of lions, ever. She had lived in the swamp on her own for most of her living memory "Hello" she whispers, ehr voice quite airy really, though she smiled "Oh..oh yes I'm fine" she smiles again though her eyes had a far away look to them. She was thinking of the swamp, her home, her little oasis right in the middle of the marsh. She was dreaming of warthogs and frogs and of the flat dirty lands which she usually hunted upon. Why had she left? She had wanted to see the world but now she longed for the swamp.

Umo, cocking his head, watched her uncomfortable movements. He made her uncomfortable. He didn't blame her. Blinking his crimson eyes, he lifted a paw off the ground. "Hello. I am sorry I disturbed you. I always seem to inturupt others when they are thinking." he said, looking down quickly. He seemed to be sullen himself. "Did I interupt something? I can leave if you like." He said with a gesture of his head, looking the way he was going before he saw her alone. He knew how it was to be alone and hated the fact that cubs were alone alot more often than he liked these days, even the fact that a grown lion was alone saddened him. He sighed. "If you would like to be alone I understand." He said, his voice still monotone. Odd.

"No..uhm..I was just dreaming of home" she whispered, looking rather forlorn just saying it. "I'v only been away a day and I already miss it" she sighs heavily. he had come on this journey to discover new things yet all she had found as that she missed the swamp. Perhaps that made her sad. It was a lonely exsistance in the swamp. She had been alone for so long til the wanderer came and she had decided to join his crusade and wander in to the open planes. She didn't understand why she was so sad, she could always just go back but what about the rest of the world? what about her adventure? "Ple..please don't leave on my account..I'd appreciate the company" she whispered, she didn't even know his name but it was nice to have somone about.

Umo smiled. "I dream of home as well. I do not recall mine very well. I left it long ago." he said, flatly. Though his face showed pain his voice did not. He looked down at his paws, deep in thought. Hmm. He really didn't have much of a home did he? Just wandering around. He had Kajji, his adoptive son. But not a home. "I will not leave then, if you wish for my company." He said, cocking his head at her. She talked quiet. Perhaps she was shy. "I am Umo. I will stay by you side as long as you want me too."

Kikawaida smiled wanely, her ears flattened softly and she gave a little sigh "I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you" she whispers "I have lived in the swamp lands my whole life I thought this was what I wanted to adventure..to see the world but I miss my home, it may sound strange to you" She paused after saying this looking embarressed "I'm sorry.. My name is Kikawaida" Her name meant natural, she had never been on her naming quest as most lions from her pride had. Her pride had vanished with the flood along with her mother and anyone else she knew. She was quite shy when around other lions simply because she hadn't socialised with many."what is your home like?" she questioned a gentle look in her dusty pink eyes.

Kikawaida tilted her head "Oh no, you don't frighten me at all" she whispers looking away in to the distance "I came out of my home to see the world. I don't know wht really i was happy at home, lonely, but happy" she smiles weakly "I'v been alone for such a long time i thought maybe I could find somone, some where to come and stay with me. The swamp is very lonely since the flood but I never really felt it until now, perhaps it is my age, I desire to be near others." She paused then and looked at Umo, he was a big male and she supposed he should be scary or even that she should fear him but despite his monocromatic voice he seemed very friendly.

Kikawaida looked up at him "Yes, I lived in the swamp, there was a flood when I was younger and most of my pride drowned in the mire that followed. My mother saved me at the cost of her own life" she paused, looking solemn for a moment but she obviously didn't like to dwell too much on the past "I would like to habve cubs one day, perhaps that is why I have left to find my path in life to find a mate, to see the world and return home, with somone." she laughed softly looking embarressed and shy "I'm sorry you barely know me and here I am laying all my troubles and ideas upon you, you must think me very rude" she whispers her ears flattening as she looked a little ashamed of her actions.

Kikawaidas ears lifted slightly as he said he was iintregued by her. What ever could he mean? She smiled bashfully tilting her beatifully marked face "You are very kind Umo" she whispers at last "Perhaps i should return home though. I wish I wasn't going back to be alone the.." she paused then, she had only felt alone since the presence of another lion had appeard. The spirits had always kept her company. She looked embarressed afraid to complete the sentence "I have been alone for so long though..I would appreciate some company." She supposed it was asking too much of the large male to accompany her back to her home land, still, she only hinted at it, he would probably suggest she found somone else before returning. Kindness she supposed, only went so far really and it usually didn't involve a treck to a swamp.
