Tihrak’s pouch had been feeling a little light lately which meant he required a trip to his hometown. This time he’d decided to bring two of his new slaves along for the ride. Haji had stayed behind to take care of the house and he was certain she could handle the job alone but the Hound liked to keep Ife by his side as much as possible. And he was sure that Layla’s sweet disposition and endearing appearance would help loosen the cords of his father’s pouch.

“Ah, this is it! Giza!” he announced dramatically as they entered the beautiful city where he’d lived most of his young life. And it truly was a sight to behold.

He hoped the slaves , “his girls” as he would often call them in private, weren’t too terribly tired. They’d carried some of his painting materials all the way from Babylon but soon they’d be invited into the spacious home of his parents and Tihrak would make sure they got enough food and rest to compensate for the trip. He couldn’t wait to show his cats to his father.

"woooowwwww!" Layla couldn't believe what she saw, it was amazing! There were plenty of hounds and slaves either selling or purchasing goods, most of them being fishing nets or other equipment. And she could smell the sea salt in the air, indicating the sea was quite near. Not to mention many of the wonderful trees and flowers that was about! Maybe she could take some of the seeds home with her and try planting some of the flowers? They would look lovely in the garden!

As she followed Tihrak into the city, she wondered if Haji would be okay by herself. She felt a little bad since she was not here to see this place, but perhaps she could bring her something back? Well, something small...maybe some of the flowers? She continued to follow after her master, hoping that they would reach his parents house soon. She wasn't very tired, but she would like to rest a little after carrying some of the supplied.

Ife's green eyes widened as the party stepped through the gates. This was quite the change of scenery considering she spent most of her life in Babylon. "This must've been a wonderful place to grow up..." The dark coated feline attempted to take in her surroundings as much as she ducked and weaved between the city's residents. She hoped Tihrak would allow herself and Layla a little time for sight seeing later, she was curious about the ocean just a ways off.

“Oh, it was!” the hound replied to his darker slave with a wide smile, taking in all the familiar sights with visible delight. He grinned at the Layla’s reaction. “I used to love swimming and my parents' slaves would sometimes come with me to fish while i played at the beach. Oh gosh, when I was a pup, I used to scare the fish away just so we could stay a bit longer. And there’s no better place to paint then Giza, I always say.” And he’d probably already said it a few times during the trip.

He stopped for a moment, eyeing Layla carefully.

“Mmm. Maybe we should get you two a bath before we go home.” It might be better to make a nice impression on his father, show him that Tihrak took good care of his slaves. A little bit of dust and dirt would probably seem more appropriate to his mother (to show the girls were working slaves and not just for show) and it might hit a soft spot with Tihrak’s father. Then again, the young hound wanted to look like he was doing alright on his own… maybe the three of them should head straight to the nearest beach and make themselves presentable. “Do you know how to swim?” He’d probably asked before but he’d completely forgotten.

Ife shook her head. "I don't. Not sure about Layla." Living by the sea she could understand the necessity of it, but back home in Babylon it didn't seem as high of a priority. The dark coated feline looked down at her paws, finding them to be a shade or two lighter than normal from dust. Perhaps a quick bath in the sea wouldn't be such a bad idea despite the fact that the thought of being immersed in water made her uneasy. Certainly Master Tihrak wouldn't let her drown, so things should be alright.
