“Let’s go in there daddy!” Áróra exclaimed, her magic sense tingling. She made the request before even taking a look at the sign on the door; once she did though, it seemed to make sense. It was an occult store and apparently they were having a going out of business sale!

It was a cool spring day, and after returning some movies to a video rental establishment, they decided to take a walk down the street and look at the myriad of small shops that made up the route. The aforementioned they being Áróra, who was as lively as ever, Melody, with her two fuzzykin in tow, Olivia, who was actually wide awake, and of course Vilyum.

Vilyum, open to the idea, since the place did at least look interesting, asked of Melody and Olivia, “What do you two think?”

Melody put her hands up to the glass, and looked in between them, scanning the store. On either side of her, both fuzzykin also pressed up to the glass. “Ok, daddy,” came her reply. The things inside looked old and dusty, but she thought that there might still be something in there that was neat.

Olivia didn’t really care one way or another about this specific store; she would have wanted to go into any one they mentioned. She had no idea what she might find inside, but she wanted to find out. She happily nodded in agreement.

“Well,”
Vilyum stated, “It looks like it is unanimous. Let’s go inside.”

In response, Áróra cheered, "Yay!"

With a laugh, Vilyum opened the door and one by one, they all went inside.

If there was one thing that Xanthe really didn't like doing around town, it was this. She had been pouting off and on all throughout the day, and although she complained here and there, she tended to stew in silent irritation. She could preoccupy herself with her runaway imagination, but if she got too carried away with it, she was bound to wander off again. She really didn't want to get Sterre even more annoyed with her, being so high-strung today anyway, so tried to deal with how bored she was. I mean, could there really be anything more boring than the errands of a scientist? Half the things she was saying to people, Xanthe didn't even understand!

However, Sterre wasn't oblivious to the torture that the newly-grown child was undergoing. By the afternoon, most of the errands were completed, and what wasn't couldn't be accomplished by running around town. Besides, it wasn't like Sterre enjoyed these stupid errands, either, preferring to stay in her proclaimed "lab" of a bedroom. It was far from her better judgement, but she decided to go along with something that Xanthe might like to do, to lessen the anger that the child was boring into her with her stare. "So, looks like we're done for the day," she said, taking another once-over her list with a quick glance. Xanthe was quick to breathe a heavy sigh of relief. "Where do you want to go now?"

Xanthe perked at the question, giving a little thought on the matter. After a pause, she said, "I want some soda!"

Sugar... but of course. Sterre groaned, reluctant to deal with hyperactivity, and suggested, "Why don't we just take a look around and see what we can get to drink? Sound fair?"

"Uhmm.... yeah!" she nodded, readjusting her hat. Maybe there would be something better than a soda elsewhere? Then again, they didn't get very far down the street before something else caught the greed-child's attention. A colorful orb in a window display snagged the light of the sun as they passed, casting an indigo hue in Xanthe's eyes. She jumped in surprise, stopping in her tracks to rub the glare out of her eyes, and took a better look at what exactly had caught her attention. She only briefly saw it before her sight started bouncing around at all the other interesting gadgets on display of the store. Oh, but there was even something else there, even better! Suddenly, Xanthe had a better idea of where to go next. "Let's go in here instead!" she called over to her mom, beaming before bolting inside.

Sterre glanced up at the sign and grumbled once again. Xanthe really didn't like to stick with anything that could even remotely interest her guardian, did she? An occult shop... couldn't be any further from science. She inhaled sharply and held the breath as she entered the door, as if the air could be toxic. She did say that she'd do what Xanthe wanted to do, so she'd just have to bite the bullet.

Xanthe, however, went not to anything on display, but directly to a group of other customers in the shop. She had seen them past the window display, and she couldn't help but decide that it was the perfect place to go -- the stuff in the shop wasn't half-bad, either. "Áróra! Heya!" she called over, grinning, "Long time, no see!" Her tail was waving from side-to-side, slower than a dog's might but indicating much the same feeling.
