Stepping quietly into his secretive little meadow, Mercutio took a deep breath of the lovely Spring air. He would never knowingly admit to it, but he adored the Spring, it was a time of new life, beauty, and the all so powerful spring shower.

Lifting his snout to the air, the male could sense something unfamiliar to his assumed private meadow. Someone else had been there, and the scent was quite unfamiliar, but in a way didn't seem too threatening, and naturally took little to no worry in it's presence.

Only time would tell of the wise or unwise decision he had made. Fortunate as he seemed to be, the wolf absolutely refused to admit to himself that his luck could run out at any moment and instead yawned lazily and plopped down heavily into the budding flowers below his paws, causing a twister of pollen to fluff out around him, and float away as quickly as they had appeared.

Diamond raced down the forest path, quickly reaching her top speed, clearing logs and branches as she maneuvered her way down the pathway. She loved to run. She often ran just for the heck of it, increasing her agility and speed as she toned and built muscle from the exercise. Her brindle coat was but flashes of brown and black amongst the greenery of the forest around her.

She had been waiting so long for spring. She enjoyed games of chase with other animals and leaping through fields and meadows as she played. It was just ahead now. The little place she had found on one of her daily runs. And then...she was there. She burst into the meadow at high speed, but she was unaware of the other's presence and so..having not looked where she was going She found herself skidding in attempt to stop before she ran over the wolf in her path!

Having fallen asleep in his secret little field, it was actually pretty obvious there was no way the wolf was going to notice the approaching female over his own snores.

And naturally as would normally happen, the crash occurred. Jumping to his feet as the female bounded into him, Mercutio let out a really loud yelp as he jerked his head in every possible direction. Looking for the culprit of the crime, and the witness to his own yelping. Naturally it took a bit for the shooken up male to regain his sense of calm, and equally as long for him to notice his company.

"What the hell man?

Do you get your kicks mowing down innocent wolves?!"

The irony of that entire sentence is far too time consuming to explain, yet with a small turn of the head, Mercutio snickered to himself before sending his death glare right back at the intruding female.

Diamond was sent tumbling as she crashed into the other wolf and rolled over in the grass a few times. She shook her head and tried to regain her footing, but the dizziness caused her to sway back and forth a few moments on her feet. His booming voice snapped her back to reality, although she was still a little whoosey from the collision.

She turned to meet him, ears flattened back, with an apologetic expression on her face. She danced in place, moving only her 2 front paws as the back paws remained stationary. She always did this when she was in trouble
. " I....I'm sorry. I didn't see you there..I was just enjoying my daily run" She moved forward, a little hesitantly as she was fearful of the backlash he could inflict upon her, but hoping he would accept her apology.

Met with his death glare, she cowered slightly and backed up a pace or two, holding up one paw as she waited to see what he would do next.

Noting the strange stance the female took, the male cocked his head to the side, trying to detect some reason for her odd behavior. It not once occured to him that she was actually nervous and possibly fearful of him. In fact that idea was so off his radar, the male almost tipped himself sideways trying to take a glance under her paws, assuming she was standing in a patch of sticker thorns.

Sadly in an attempt to regain his composure BEFORE he could fall over, he managed to do so anyway, quite possibly abruptly ending any fear of ferocity he had established. With a roll of his eyes, Mercutio rolled over from his side and lolled back onto his back, thumping his tail lightly.

"It's fine. I'm more surprised to see another wolf here actually. I guess your running got in the way of your sense of smell?"

It was less a question than a stated fact, but who knew how this new female would take the statement. Deciding he'd soon find out, he took the opportunity to pry more information from his 'guest'.

"And what's all this about a daily run? Isn't there something more entertaining you could be doing? Running sounds like a lot of work."

Diamond danced on her front paws with ears pinned back and an apologetic expression on her face as he stared at her. She wasn't sure why he was so silent, and then it happened. She could not help but run over to see if he was ok.

Once he rolled over onto his back and she saw the tail thumping, she relaxed finally. There would be no backlash it seemed. "Well one cannot really pay attention to scents when running full tilt can they?" Her eyes held a glint of playfulness as she looked at the male on the ground. "Well one might think so but it so much fun! you should try it. Its the closest thing to flying really, the wind in your face."

She couldn't help but giggle about his falling over, and how easy it would be to catch all his ticklish spots from how he was laying. Without thinking, she pounced to try and tickle him as she had her siblings when she was a wee pup, giggling and laughing all the while.

Mercutio was by all means not impressed with her fascination for running. He'd tried it before, it wasn't all she made it out to be. But then, to each their own, perhaps she wouldn't think his practical jokes were the most fun in the world; but to him it WAS the world. "I'll have to take your word for it, seem like too m-"

Mid sentence was all the male managed to get out before his new found 'friend' pounced on him with little no warning. He yipped loudly as he realized she was indeed trying to tickle him and not attack him, and with a small sigh between laughter fits Mercutio thanked his lucky stars that his cousin wasn't here to lecture him.

"He-HEY! That tickles, stop tha-aaat" Mercutio was really dying here, he absolutely loved to be tickled but the sensation drove him mad; obviously in a good way but his own reflexes weren't too keen on allowing the female to know he enjoyed it. But she didn't seem all that willing to stop the assualt; and with a strong surge of energy the male gently attempted to push her onto her back so that he could return the attack of the tickle monster.
