is anybody else as frustrated by the discussion there as i am?

i like to share ideas about belief but all ( or most of what) i see there is compounding ignorance, flaming, stereotyping and hard-headedness.

i want to say (rather loudly), "Job 38:1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Job 38:2 Who [is] this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?"

I find it very frustrating, there's an overabundance of Christians who are morons and give other Christians a bad name, and Pagan fluffbunnies that have no clue what they're talking about but are convinced that they're right.

That is not to say that there's no intelligent discussion... but I've rarely ventured there since I've found this guild. We're like ED - Religion, but SO MUCH BETTER whee

Yep, but sometimes there is good conversation, but rarely.

I still go there but hardley ever stay there and never for long. Now I just come here or tot he main ED forum. To bad, I like discussing religion and such but I find it hard to join a convo there. Not saying it's void of inteligent discussion however. But this guild is better.

Ever since I found this guild and a few other guilds on religion, I have pretty much ceased going to the ED - religion. I have found few, good/quality discussions there. Besides, they don't have a bathroom, and we do!

I love ED, but the vast majority there are rude and don't want to listen to other people's beliefs. It almost seems like they are trying to start an arguement. Which is exactly why I love this guild so much. I hope I can find other guilds like this pertaining to other areas that are mentioned in ED, but lack the ignorance ED has.

I've seen many trash threads in ED, especially in my days as an ED Enforcer. The number of quality threads in M&R is decreasing, but, unfortunately, nobody can do a thing about it. This guild has, pretty much, replaced M&R for me. ED is littered with Chrisitan Fundies, Pagan Fluffies, and ZOMG 1'M 5UCH A REBEL!!!11!1!1!!!1one Atheists.

Yes, most people there seem to enjoy trolling. Now, if people could provide some rational and a well thought out arguement as to why they believe pagans are going to hell, there might be a different story. However, if people aren't in the middle of a flame war, they're blatantly refusing to see the other person's point of view.

Indeed. And when you yourself try and explain that you do understand the other person's perspective, you just have a difference of opinion...

They don't believe you, tell you you're stupid, and resume the flame war.

Oh, THAT'S productive. gonk

They do that because they don't have a bathroom!

But seriously, I just find it many threads too immature.

Arthur C. Clark in "Childhood's End" basically says that when mankind is mature enough and intelligent enough we will not need religion.

maybe he just was exposed to the E.D. kind.
