Lush green grass carpeting along rich earth below that stretched as far as the eye could see. Aromatic luke warm air that twisted and turned, dancing to a five-four ballet Song birds who gave an aria, or perhaps it was a musical to proclaim their daily life, and give a pleasant calming to all who may be in ear-shot; or an annoyance to those who didn't enjoy a twittering birds call. These were all common traits held by the low open plains and outlining forests, and currently Ferra's most favorite place to visit. The mare always seemed to end up here after her travel's, even when pursuing the most exciting and breath-taking of area's, nothing really could draw her away from her homeland for too long. In fact, it was nice that her most recent journey to the mountains was just on the outskirts of the open meadows and dense forests. Even now they were, as the somewhat seasoned female grazed in the open range that she'd played in as a filly. It held such succulent and sweet grasses that always left one satisfied. And to her right were the towering mountain peeks that hovered over the opposing territory thriving with life. It was a rather intense experience in the mostly barren crag rock, but it had quelled the desire she'd had to see the unknown there. And she'd like to tour again, though it might be foolish to go alone. The first time she had been lucky enough to have her buddy Gale Wind accompany her, but... who knew if he had the same nomadic like spirit that she possessed. He really wasn't one to talk much, and even more so of himself.
Never the less, there was more to be explored. Every corner scoped out, each rock turned. And as of late, the mare had learned that vast lands of a different texture were lying on the other side... one's that would challenge even the bravest and strongest of souls and bodys.

Faster. FASTER!
The sound of metal and hoof resounded through the air. Zahid had been running for a while to lose his followings of unhappy soquili from the marketplace. How unlucky a day was this?!
His chest heaved madly, and his hoofs kicked up clumps of earth as he galloped as fast as he could command his legs to do so. His sword began to slide off his side. No good! He would not have time to adjust it at his waste if his attackers were still close behind.
Clinching the grip of the sword, he unwove it from his side and whipped around in the opposite direction. His nostrils flared. His eyes wide. He waited to see who came, but realized a moment later he might of lost them long before he entered this area.

Well the day had certainly started off in it's usual peaceful manner.. but it really didn't take long for that to change. A flick of a black cupped ear and those bright blues followed suit, flashing open as a light rumbling along the grounds could be felt and heard. Someone was approaching. Head lifting from its grazing posture, neck turning towards the honed in source of action. The wind was brushing towards her, carrying the scent of another... and a few more stale identifications that were too difficult to separate out. Snorting softly, she flicks her blonde tail, now spying the male in view. He looked a bit.. winded, if not frantic... Crooking a brow, she simply watched from her little area, eyes slowly drawing to that slab of metal that the stallion wielded. A fighter, huh? But... she didn't see anyone coming towards him. With a slight smirk, the mare called out casually to him, "Hey... you fighting ghosts, buddy?" in a mused fashion.

Zahid jumped as if struck my lightning, every nerve in his body electrified for a split second. The startle had come from a voice in the opposite direction of his battle stance. He swung around, near lopping the blonds head off. "Woah!!!!" he shouted as he stabbed the earth and cowered his head for a moment, showing he was no threat. "My humble apologies madam! Are you hurt?" he inspected her, moving his head side to side as he scanned for any wounds. Across his flank, he had his own wound, though not terribly deep. The gash was not from today though..
Momentarily, he forgot about the impending danger that had been following him. He also didn't answer her question. Having almost decapitated her, the question seemed unimportant. He didn't mean to swing at her, but was merely caught unawares. He busied himself over her, which he would keep doing, until he either found some seeping cut, or she confirmed she was alright.

As the stallion jumped in surprise, Ferra pricked her ears up in an alert stance, head lifting a bit more in response. Well he certainly was a jumpy fella- But before she could finish her thought, the hiss of the metal blade came slashing right towards her, making her head jerk back just in time, her braid fluttering just barely out of the swords path. Of course, she didn't take much mind to it, and only gave him a light chuckle, tipping her head forward to nose his head in assurance, "Yeah I'm fine." Her bright blues did glance to the sword curiously though. It'd been awhile since she'd seen one of those. That usual grin on her face casually returned, eyes turning back to the stallion before her, "What's go you so jumpy, fella?" she asks, once again taking a brief glance behind him. Still... she saw no one. But... her playful nature couldn't help her from teasing him, "Did some old guy catch ya with his daughter, or something?" her grin grew proportionally... most likely giving her away.

Zahid was taken back momentarily, concern cut off by the embarrassing notion this mare suggested. "No ma'am! It wasn't that at all!" he stepped backwards, thrusting a head over his shoulder, recalling the reason for his quick escape. He huffed. "I should get going.." he leaned forward, eyes on the jewel-toned eyes of his brief company. The last thing he wanted, was to get her involved in his unlucky affairs of the day. "If you see anyone looking for a stallion of my description, I'd ask that you not lie. If you could be so kind as to stall them maybe, but you owe me nothing. Thank you Miss." he said with a polite dip of his chin before he scooped up the hilt of his sword in his mouth. He began to meticulously fasten it to his side, making sure it would not slip twice. Once finished he looked back at her. "Apologies again for the rough meet. I will take my leave now."

Chuckling lightly at how he replied in defense, she couldn't help but let her grin grow, tail swishing laxly. What a curious fellow this stallion was... quite amusing, to say in the least. Glancing over the way he was gesturing towards, she blinked lethargically, obviously not at all fearful of what may be after him... and not really caring if it happened to cross her. With a slow sliding of her eyes to meet his once again, her grin crooked a bit more, head tipping ever so slightly as she watched him. "Just gonna hit and run, huh?" she muses to him in a playful tone. Though she wasn't a cocky mare, she was one that was quite experienced in the ways of battle, and spars, and held no fear for anything that stood before her. What ever it was, she'd take it head on. She had a head on her shoulders, mild things of empty threats were nothing. "How long you think you're gonna be able to run?" she asks.. mostly just thinking aloud. But.. if he couldn't handle them, stand his ground... just what exactly was he up against?

Saying that he would take his leave, was assuming he would have offended anyone after swinging a sword at them! He was even more embarrassed when she asked if he was going to hit and run. Either way, staying in one place wasn't safe either, especially right now. Zahid always stayed on the move, moe so when being chased. He had been running a while though, and he was good at evading those that pursed by foot. Evading air dwellers was not as easily done, and required stealth more than speed.
A curious question more so, was the one that followed. When running away from something or someone, he simply ran for as long as it took. Now he would cut far south, then west, in hopes of retracing his steps and avoiding those he ran into last. "That's an answer I don't have. I run as long as it takes." or as long as his body would carry him. Which for a healthy stallion such as himself, who maintained fitness through travel and self defense, was quite a long time.

An amused grin peeled along the easy-going mare's lips. As far as it takes, huh? Well he was certainly ambitious. Tail swaying lightly, she peered back to where he'd came, expecting some sort of herd to be right behind him, pursuing him. After a moment of casual silence, she finally spoke again, "Would you mind if I went with you? Perhaps then you could tell me who's following you so persistently." Mostly, she just wanted to know where this gent was from. His scent was unlike any other she'd smelled. Very... foreign, and intriguing. Mixes of spices, and herbs, and... other things she couldn't quite pinpoint to a proper name. Besides, she had no where to go. She was a wanderer, a traveler, a drifter after all. Though she was one to take things slow, and really enjoy the scenery, a good run once in awhile was of course in order.

Come with him? Well that is a dangerous idea. Zahid pondered the situation. At any other moment, a light companion would have made for good conversation. Traveling alone left the need to talk. It's why he loved telling stories to his mother every time he saw her. He would go on for hours. He couldn't put anysoq in harms way though, and would need to tell her no.
Just then, a loud rustle broke lose in the forest, followed by a blur of black and erie caws. Zahid snapped his head in the direction of the sound. A flock of ravens flew up from the canopy of trees. Something had spooked them, causing to take flight. His heart raced. The time for formalities was over. There was no other choice now.
"It looks like I have no choice. Please! Come with me!" he insisted with such an urgent voice. Before he could wait for an answer, he boldly reached forward and pushed on her backside. "Hurry!" With that, he took off like lightning, beating his thunderous hooves in the resistant ground beneath him. He would not stop if she did not follow him, but he prayed to the spirits that she would heed him and take flight!
