Our Humble Service to our Patrons
Tucked in present day Manhattan you will find The Sweet Life Cafe and Bakery. All you need to do is follow your nose!
This cafe is owned by Favonius, the Chief Baker. Anyone and everyone is welcome at the cafe, people of New York, foreign visitors from other states, even characters from other roleplays going on the Roleplaying Gems guild are eagerly anticipated! Yes, this cafe is meant for any of your characters to come in and relax. Maybe browse our selection of tea and coffee while you await your opponents post during a fight? Or enjoy a moist slice of cake (no, it is not a lie, we do indeed sell the best and lovingly made cakes here) while you dine with other characters from various roleplays. Have fun with character you miss roleplaying as. You can do it all here, at The Sweet Life Cafe and Bakery ~
 
First floor is the actual cafe. As you take the stairway leading from the sidewalk you will enter through the official door. The selection and menu area will be to your right. You can make your order here at the cashiers. Then find a sit in the cozy sitting area or get some fresh air in the small outside sitting area. Bathrooms are near the selection area down a hallway. Females to the left and males to the right. If you continue heading straight you will find a rustic gated elevator that will take you up or down. Underneath this level or the ground floor is the kitchen. The second floor has about four small bedrooms for the workers or rented to tenets.

The Cafe can carter events going on elsewhere in the Roleplaying Gems guild. Have them provide for your character birthdays, corporate events, and family reunions. The cafe itself can hold fundraisers and events for holidays, special occasions. Sometimes fundraisers, banquets, and events take place at Miss Mia's residence, for more see here.

Cafe Etiquette
Just to ensure that everyone can enjoy the relaxing environment of the cafe and so we don't get cited by the county as a public nuisance, please follow these simple rules:
1) Do not enter combat while in the cafe. If you have the urge to fight take it to your own planet/ dimension/ empty parking lot. Such behavior is not tolerated for it will draw outside attention, complaints from the neighbors, and rack up in property damage.
2) Do not engage in any activity that may result in property damage to the cafe, the workers, and the customers. Thus ensure that your superpowers are capped at an appropriate level. some examples are breaking through walls, setting body parts and even napkins on fire, setting off the sprinkling system due to the fire etc.
Since there are so many 'Do not's how about some Do's!
1) Do grab a chair and enjoy the ambiance. Relax or meet someone new! Who knows...you have known each other in a past life!
Cafe Roleplay Clarification
About profiles/characters:
There is no need to pm me the profile, post it or make one for the roleplay. It's best to use a character that has a profile somewhere in the guild so that people interested in your character can ask you about it or find it to learn more about your character's history, but any character already made or whipped out of thin air are alright to use!
-Employees of The Sweet Life Cafe and Bakery must have a profile.

 It was already 10:00 am when Chouko plopped down at one of the tables and gingerly stretched out her legs. She had a moist cleaning towel in one hand and there was a tray on the table stacked with empty dishes, bowls, and cups. Chouko had survived most of monday’s mad morning rush, though there would be more people trickling in throughout the day, at least the worst was over. With that in mind she rose to her feet and straightened the white apron that wrapped around her blue jeans and brown t-shirt that had the words, “The Sweet Life ~ Cafe and Bakery” written in white upon it. Her raven hair had been managed into a bun on top her head, though her bangs cascaded down, framing her her face. A “meow” came from across the room and behind the counter peered the brown masked face of a siamese cat. His vibrant blue eyes scanned the cafe, noting that it was empty save for Chouko, before he said, “Thank goodness they have finally left. It was like a circus in here during the rush hour!” the cat spoke in a male British voice as he walked over to Chouko and sat down in front of her feet. His bright eyes looked up at her as he commented. ”You look like you need some caffeine yourself, I can see the dark bags under your eyes from down here.” ”Thanks Aristotle...” Chouko replied in a sour tone, though she indeed felt careworn today after waking up at 5am to get Favonius up and baking so that the cafe would be rolling on time. ”Can you watch the Cafe while I take this loot downstairs for washing?” She asked Aristotle, who was still peering up at her. ”I will if you bring me back a slice of Poire D'Eve,” he replied with a toothy grin. ”You already had a slice, plus you had breakfast!” Retorted Chouko, who began to heave up the tray of dishes. ”But I’m famished and the sweet’s scent is torturing me!. I’ll go complain to animal welfare that you are starving me!” Protested Aristotle. “You eat so many sweets, I highly doubt you would die of starvation, just from diabetes. I don’t know how you and Favonius manage to live with all those calories!” Retorted Chouko though when it was apparant that Aristotle wouldn’t budge so she could walk she said with exasperation, ”Fine, I’ll get you a thin slice, but you should really eat healthier!” Aristotle inched away enough to let Chouko pass with the dishes that were now making ominous clattering sounds as she waked. ”Thank you dear sweet lass. Please bring me a saucer of warm milk while you are it!” yelled Aristotle after Chouko who was muttering darkly. ”If he continues like that I’ll have him eat kibbles’n’bits rather than expensive Wild Sockeye Salmon patte.” She said under her breath as she waited for the lift to ride up.
A wide variety of sweet sugary scents wafted to Chouko once the lift brought her down to the kitchen and opened. There at a long table sat Favonius dressed in white, with a tall white bakers hat, humming merrily to himself as he mixed some batter. Content and happy as always he greeted Chouko and began rattling off a series of questions ”How was the morning rush? Did they like today’s specials? What do we need more of? Does Aristotle want another slice of Poire D’Eve?” Chouko placed the dishes into a large sink where sponges, brushes, and towels had been magicked by Aristotle, to clean the dishes. ”So far everyone has enjoyed the specials, the morning has been hectic as usually and we will need more Poire D’Eve, yes one for Aristotle, and more assorted power bars and cookies.” “Excellent!” cheered Favonius as he skipped across the kitchen and returned with a plate of the sweet and an already warmed saucer of milk for Aristotle. ”I had a feeling he would want more!” said Favonius, who seemed to have more energy as he began his new tasks.
Chouko sighed, slightly jealous at the seemingly boundless zeal Favonius had when she had a complete healthy and wholesome breakfast. Pouting, she returned back to the cafe only to find another customer peering through the deli-case and talking to Aristotle. It had to be someone very familiar for Aristotle to exhibit his powers to, otherwise the cat was to act...as a normal cat.
To Chouko’s surprise it was Leo.

 Leo’s red eyes looked up to see Chouko walking out from the lift. He smiled her way though was still in conversation with Aristotle, who had just remarked, “You don’t smell of dog today? Can I take it that you have finally gotten rid of the pestilential beast?” “Pomfry?” Leo asked. “No, I’m sure he is still in Hell’s residence, but as to his current whereabouts, I am not sure. But as long as Lucifer calls Hell his home then so shall Pomfry. He is extremely loyal to as you are aware.” Replied Leo, though he heard Aristotle give a rebutting sniff and the remake. “Miss Takeda, how are you? It has been awhile hasn’t it? Leo asked Chouko, who had just set down the saucer and plate to an eager Aristotle. A blush had crept across her face and she cleared her voice before answering, ”Things are going very well, nothing to complain about. But it has been a long time, I was begining to worry that things were...well acting up...down there...” Chouko finished flatly. After years of service to the Cafe, she was no longer was surprised or scared to find that some of her customers weren’t...normal human beings. Soon she began meeting all sorts of characters and after awhile had to enact certain rules that they would not blow the cafe’s cover. Chouko even had threatened to smack one person with her harisen, aka paper fan of dooooom, if he did not stop harassing a group fairies who were trying to enjoy their tea. She later found out that he was a time traveller and would be one of the biggest nuisances in her life.  “Well, things are a bit...complicated back home, but Mitsu sends her love and requests today’s special cake and a canister of today’s special tea, which I see is ‘Flora’s Peaceful Hibiscus’...hmmmm, make that two canisters, something tells me we will need alot of it.” Chouko smiled at the thought of Mitsu and made a note of Leo’s order. ”I’ll let Favinous know, in the meantime can I get you anything?” She asked as she walked over to the cashier box and a small computer where she began typing the order up to be sent to Favonius below. ”Well, now that you ask I could go for today’s special cup of joe and a slice of the banana bread.” replied Leo as he walked over to the nearest table and sat down, removing a folded up sheet of newspaper from the inside pocket of his jacket. Smoothing the paper out, he withdrew a pencil and resumed his sudoku. ”Coming right up!” Chirped Chouko, reminding herself of Favonius. Her mood and energy level was steadily improving. Maybe she would have some coffee too.
