After 2 yrs of having a lori, the damn thing finally showed us if it was a female or a male....It was a female. O.O I dunno, I just think it was weird.

All right.....I know some birds are easier to tell the gender of then others. How did you finally figure out which gender your bird is?

Maybe it suddenly learned English and announced to all that it was a girl... Urm, what kind of bird is a Lori? I've never heard of that kind before.
But that is kind of weird... I had one of my cats for a few months before we realized it was a girl. But two years? That's a while...

With my dove, we knew for sure when she laid an egg, but we guessed earlier than that because she didn't get territorial when I had a few more rescue doves in the house, and a male might have. But she still seems like an 'it' - zebra doves are small, fuzzy, and very, very stupid, so it's like a plush toy that coos. cool

A lori is a kind of bird.
And because birds can't reproduce until a certain age, the bird wouldn't have laid an egg before it was able to be sexually active. It's like when human women have their periods. Your bird will regularly lay eggs.
Congratulations! Your lori has now hit puberty! Have fun. blaugh
