Vaith was getting really frustrated here-- Here he was, lost in the academy again. He had been lost for quite a while now. He was hungry, lacking on sleep and the end result was being sorely irritated. He slumped against a wall, back to the solid surface behind him. If he could have kicked it, he would have. He would have kicked it so hard, his foot would have ended up as the sore winner. Hearing the chrips in the back of his hood, recognizing it as his familiar in a similarly annoyed mood.

"Oh, do shut up, pipsqueak." Vaith grumbled, causing a new flurry of pecking attacks at his head. OH GOD-- THIS STUPID FAMILIAR, HE WAS GOING TO MURDER IT.

A brawl between the lethal and small versus the big and inefficient was about to ensue.

Tomoko would have been the worst person in the world to ask for directions in any manner of the word; her ability to navigate depended, almost entirely, on miniature graffiti marks she'd left about every building she went into in order for her to find where it was she was headed.

However, while wandering the school this day, it seemed that she was going to find something, or rather someone, who didn't look all to pleased to be in his situation in the way of her searching.

If she'd been prepared to guess, she would have assumed she was about to be face-to-not-face-because-he-was-taller-than-her with a reaper. However, she was being distracted by trying to find where she'd left her marker for that particular hallway. Hugging her prized ball of stars to her chest, she ran one open palm over it curiously before she came to the one possible conclusion of why she couldn't find what it was she was looking for.

The boy was probably right in front of it.

However, Tomoko seemed to recognize that he wasn't very happy and sort of shuffled to the other side of the hall to stare at him awkwardly, ears slowly drooping more and more.

Vaith's dragon, seeing a quick escape from the larger figure, flew over to the smaller fluffy girl in the hallway. It's small red eyes lit up, wings fluttering to hover by the small girl's ankle, as if in protection. Actually, there was no "as-if" about it-- the dragon was relying on the small girl for it's life. It's temporary life, anyways.

Vaith wasn't very happy to see someone to the rescue. He crossed his arms, his deep frown set angrily as usual .. Well, it wasn't supposed to be a frown, it was supposed to be an exasperated and annoyed look. But no, his face just made him look over-the-top angry as usual.

"Don't get in the way, little girl."

Vaith wasn't supposed to be getting annoyed. But somehow, the set of his dragon hiding behind a girl with the fluffiest ears that his dragon shouldn't have been behind. Why was it hiding behind a girl, anyways?

Tomoko easily could have argued that he'd been in her way first, but that would have been mean! And this was the same little kitsune who was hugged and called adorable when she threatened to kick someone in the calves. There wasn't a properly terrifying bone in her body and she'd yet to have arranged to have a 'terrifying skeleton placement' surgery to fix that problem yet.

All the fluffiness would have stood in the way as well. Nobody could insert a terrifying skeleton into all of that fluffiness!

However, she hugged her ball closer to her chest and made a rather sad face at Vaith, answering with a chirruping noise that sounded more like the sound a baby animal would make than a student. Then again, based on the amount of fluff and tails she had, that was likely the case as was.

She looked up towards the creature that had taken shelter behind her head, one ear flicking momentarily before it drooped right back down again.

"i-I....I'm not trying to be..." she answered meekly, obviously lacking much of a spine and just rubbing her free palm on her ball of stars.

Her ears drooped up and down. What category of the school did she belong to? .. Ghosts? Nah. Reapers? Definitely not .. Vaith didn't really remember at the moment .. Thinking was a hassle. He had been thinking the last few hours on which direction to head in, even going as far as to draw a map of the places he had already to. Much help that had been.

His head hurt from a massive headache.

"Look, little girl, your really sad puppy face isn't really helping the situation. You know? You might think it helps you get out of bad situations but let me tell you, it doesn't." Vaith lectured, his hand reaching out to gesture at her ear.

"What are these? What are you?" He leaned in to examine them a little more closely, his eyes narrowing. "Man, they look fun to pull!"
PostPosted: Sat May 07, 2011 11:38 pm

The closer Vaith leaned in, the further back Tomoko leaned, her three tails trying to retreat between her legs in the same fashion that the tail of an injured dog would. However, two legs + three tails = not a lot of space to fit them and it was mostly a mess of fluff that one could step on if they weren't careful.

"I'mnotlittle.." she replied, though in all truth she had absolutely no real 'bulk' to her form. She looked small and felt as though she should have been small. So really it was a pointless argument, leaving it mumbled underneath her breath. Her ear flicked back when his hand got too close to it and Tomoko reached up to brush at it anxiously, her eyes glossing over as she became more and more uncertain as how to handle the situation.

She had just been trying to find her way back to the dorms!

"I..they..I.." she paused, fumbling over her words. Tomoko was at a loss of which statement she should respond to. She took a few moments to hyperventilate before taking a deep breath and answering what seemed like the 'important' thoughts;

"They're my ears. I'm a kitsune." she answered, though she didn't really like the idea of him possibly pulling on her ears, part of her making a note about making teeth-ear-things to bite offending fingers. Not that she'd ever gollow through with such a thought.

"A kitsune? Interestingggg." Vaith commented, his gaze looking down at her, examining her from head to toe. Not that.. there was much to examine, really. He leaned down, trying to offer his hand to his familiar, in an attempt to get it back.

No good, it just hissed and ran around to her other side.

"What's the ball for? You could always smash it in faces like mines--You want to try? We can get you over your little shy-cute act and the whole drooping ears thing." His hand raised self-consciously to his own horns. Considering all the rather mysterious field trips this academy seemed to take .. Well, Vaith was wondering how the little miss survived.

Her sad faces were making him frown deeper. He didn't think he sounded threatning-- of course, how could Vaith be? Unfortunately, he forgot that his facial features weren't the best way to express himself with his eyebrows furrowing deeper.

Tomoko hugged the ball closer to her when he suggested it be used as a blunt weapon.

"That's like me asking you to beat someone to death with your liver." she said sternly, carefully wrapping both of her arms around it for the sake of safety. Or rather, for the sake of the safety of the object she was holding. Clearly from the look on her face she was worried he was going to try and spirit it away from her. "Unless you don't have a liver. Then it's like beating someone to death with your face, I'd guess..."

Tomoko had never really tried to do either of them, and for a moment she pondered how it would turn out. She paused, scratching her fingers lightly on the surface of it, the object seeming to leave a trail of sparkles along where they moved.

She bit her lower lip a bit before she finally shifted her hold on the object to plant it between her palms, the same starry veining in the item seeming to expand onto the girl's fingertips, though she made a point of not making eye contact with the reaper, instead focusing on what she was doing...

Up until the floor started to crinkle beneath her feet, covering itself with leaves. An illusion? He could have bet his a** on that. Tomoko couldn't alter reality after all.

Vaith watched half in fascination, as her fingers trailed amongst the orb, sparkles following her fingers. He had thought it might prove to be a blunt-force object, like other reapers with their weapons (hey, it had magic inside of it but essentially, weapons were weapons to hit.) Leave encircled the ground, Vaith nearly jumping in fascination. He patted the ground cautiously .. but it still felt the same. But every other sense, sound and sight, hearing and seeing the crinkling leaves -- it was almost all real.

Amazing.

Vaith's eyes widened, his face finally breaking into a large smile.

"Good job!" He gave her a friendly petting on her head as he straightened up, perhaps with a little too much force. "You just need to smile more now-- stop being so droopy and looking down!" Vaith suggested, both of his hands moving to pinch her cheeks upwards to create a smile. Pinching a little too tightly --

"See, a smile on your face makes you look so much better!"

Vaith wasn't very good with kids. He let go after a moment but .. Well, somebody should have educated Vaith to respect his seniors at school. Tomoko was one of them.

Tomoko's ears perked right up when he smiled, though she seemed a bit..apprehensive to the sudden switch in mood...well, until her face started being pulled on, ears drooping right back down and making a slightly chirping noise.

It was hard to frown when your face was being contorted beyond the shape it was meant to be.

"urrrhrrnngggmeee..." she managed through the face pulling, though it sounded something sort of like 'you're hurting me'. Once he'd let go, she tucked the ball of stars back into the crook of her arm and rubbed her cheeks with her other hand, frowning a bit more.

"Well..it's easier to smile when.." Mumble mumble "terrorizing" mumble mumble "mean" mumble mumble.

She finally gave him this utterly pathetic look; "Why are you being mean to me?"

"I'm not being mean to you. If this is mean, you're going to find out there's far wose. I'm just showing you around the ropes of life, you see?" Vaith grinned, straightening to cross his arms behind his head. He yawned, his tried eyes reminding him of his original goal of being here.

Certainly not to "terrorize" the little Missy. Although that had been fun and completely unintentional-- Ok, perhaps, just a LITTLE intentional.

"Well, let's end our little adventure, shall we? Lead me to the dorms, little missy! Please tell me you know where they are -- or I'm going to be spending another several days on the roof and cafeteria." Vaith clapped his hands together, head bent down.

"I'd really really really like my bed to sleep in. So i'm going to put all my faith in you, okay?"

Tomoko's ears drooped again. "That was you being mean though." she repeated, frowning lightly before she stepped around the reaper to go and camp out near where the reaper had been slumped previously, on her hands and knees to look at some sort of scribble she'd made on the wall there.

It was pure jibberish to anybody else who looked at it, but soon enough she popped right back up and nodded down the hallway.

"This way." she said, happily leading the way ahead, all three of her tails perking right up. Clearly, she was a failure as a demoness; She hadn't even asked what she'd get in return for doing this boil a favor! Then again, she didn't really care to get a favor from him in the first place.

Or to mark him.

Or whatever it was she was supposed to do. She could figure out navigation most easily though! Woo woo! "Do you get lost a lot?" she asked, looking up at the taller boil, ears perking up from their previously drooped position. "I do. That's why I mark certain spots like that." she nodded off towards where they'd been previously before rounding the corner to another hall.

Vaith wondered what she was doing for a while there, following Tomoko to kneel behind her to identify .. Well, it looked nothing more than a smudge on the wall. But it was significant apparently .. Vaith gave the smudge a second look, still as confused as the first .. and decided to temporarily give up.

"I dont see how not getting lost can be a daily activity. I have a hard enough time finding my way to class and by the time I do find it, class is over. Ugh." Vaith glanced down at the dragon STILL following Tomoko's small feet, scowling down at the dragon.

His familiar could get stuck on any nice girl willing to let the dragon hide behind her. When Vaith got to his dorm, he was going to teach him a little lesson.

"I figured out a few landmarks of my own in this building and made those marks to help direct me towards them." she explained and as though it would help explain her mount while she was walking with the reaper, ran her palm across her ball of stars, the object seeming to illusion a sort of hand-scrawled map.

However, it was likely a replica of a real one Tomoko had made at some point in time, based on the accuracy of it. There were a few colored boxes labelled in kanji as well as a vague map of the hallways.

"In almost every hallway there are several marks in the colors that correspond to these rooms. They tend to point the direction you want to go to find where it is you're going. For example." She pointed to a light blue box; probably the color she associated with the school's secretary, "This is the front office. Light blue marks will lead you there." She pointed to the red box. "This is the gym. Red marks go there."

She beamed, feeling ever so smart for having figured out that system by herself.

Never the less, she offered the illusioned paper (it would react to being in reaper's hand, but not exactly feel like paper). "You can borrow my system if you'd like. I'm heading towards the front office because I can go outside from there."

Her ears perked up and twitched once or twice once there.

Vaith took a good careful look at the "system" Tomoko seemed to work out-- genuis, really. He was scrambling to copy it down as he walked, his hand being used as a temporary place holder for paper.

His eyes focused on Tomoko's feet in front of him, eyes glancing down to compare hand to paper. Decent enough, he guessed. He'd just work on memorizing them for the night. With a grin, he gave Tomoko a thumbs up.

"You're a life saver. Not counting the fact that my familiar's attached itself to you, I'm just going to look like a crazy idiot by staring at the walls for awhile. Better than looking like a lost reaper, I guess." Vaith petted her rather roughly on the head, walking along the pathway, dead grass and rocks being the only scenery to see. In a short while, a familiar building would soon come into view--- HOME SWEET HOOOOMEEEE.
