I do believe that I read this awhile ago.
And very much liked it.
heart I read
Court's Marshal, too. And started on
the Fall of Lis Boyne Calone, though I don't believe I finished it.
Well, seemingly it was finally time for my Editor to discover The Tempered heart and tell me that apparently my toothache is ruining my aesthetic sense of writing.
Of course, after she pointed out all the flaws--it was frighteningly obvious. Eyes like scalpels.
Of course, she starts with: maybe I shouldn't tell you these comments, --and she goes on to tell me how horrible and mean she was and how many problems they were. So when I finally pry out of her the problems I'm totally feeling defensive and like what I wrote was awful and worthy only of circular file. But then she comes on the line and is like, this-that-this-and-that, and I'm worried I need to rewrite everything...
But, when we finally get down to it, she's telling me, "No, no, these are all really simply fixed. Just move this here, set this up here, and change this sequence. And viola, it'll be a lot better."
All the while, I'm preparing to tear my hair out.
My Editor is awesome. Just...I get face planted every time.
